i do not believe janet has mental health issues.

what i do believe is that some of what scorp says has the ring of truth, but some of it has to do with assumptions based on false information in the first place.

i, too, recall a time when the jacksons were seen as this kind of 'osmond family in sepia tone'. i was in junior high when my mother made the remark how you never heard bad things about the jackson boys, as she called them.

what happened i think was the perfect storm of race, class, and fame.

prior to '84, even after off the wall, mj and his family were not at the forefront of the media b/c very few black people were. mj complained about his inability to even promote 'otw' properly - in america anyway, i don't know about overseas - b/c magazine editors told him that black people didn't sell, although it was quite obvious that mj had crossed over in a big way with 'otw'. these editors just refused to acknowledge him, and that sort of attitude kept up right up until the threats that came from epic to mtv - "play his videos, or we'll withhold all the white artists you want to play". and we all know what happened. to this day, i don't think any of "suits" expected that a black man would ever generate such an overwhelming response across the board from the public, which hasn't abated since his death. hell, there have been statues erected in mj's honor where few black people even live.

naturally, the media doors that had been closed to the jacksons were suddenly thrown opened, and the "takedown" began almost immediately. however, while i acknowledge race as being a strong factor in the unending drama, i also consider that the jacksons were never what they were painted as to begin with. no need to recount the various dramas that have played out in the last 20 or so years. however, what they reveal is that the jacksons were not who everyone thought they were in the first place. at least that's how i feel now. neutral

You make the Jacksons seem like a mob family. None of these dudes been in prison etc ec. These typical family bruhuhas are to be expected. I think for the most part, with their issues on tabloid and media forefronts, handle their shit as best as could be expected.

Umm, The Jacksons preceded the Osmonds, and were copied by said group.

So if anything, the Osmonds were "the jackson family in pale tone." confused

that's only in your fevered brain b/c anyone who doesn't see the jacksons the way you do are on your shit list. their own mother just told the court that she was unable to communicate with her grandchildren b/c the people she trusted - HER children - had lied to her and had taken away her phone and computer. is that the kind of "typical" stuff that goes on in your family? b/c that was going on in my family, i would put an arm's distance between me and them.

oh, wait ... isn't that what mj tried to do? should have stayed with his brothers? yeah, right.

so whatever, hull. i'm not making stuff up. they don't seem to be handling their shit "as best as could be expected" otherwise i would have found out about their beef with the mj execs thru the court, not some crazy third rate website.

so? what's your point? all those black performers "preceded" elvis, and yet he's the one who's considered "the king".

you never hear of (insert name of white perfomer here) being referred to as the 'white mj', and you never will, not by any serious journalist. or haven't you noticed that?

the jacksons, even though they were far more successful than the osmonds, even though the osmonds came after the j5, you never heard of them being referred to as the 'white jacksons'.

i certainly have heard the jacksons described as the 'black osmonds', that why i posted what i posted. neutral

hmmm I don't know what's going on with her,but I read this story in the media recently....

Janet Jackson and Mother Not Talking, Janet Charging Mom for Use of Vegas Condo

Janet Jackson continues her descent into post-career madness: she’s charging her mother for use of her Las Vegas condo. Katherine Jackson has asked the Michael Jackson estate to increase her cost of living expenses so she can travel to Las Vegas and stay in Janet’s condo, which the “What Have You Done For Me Lately?” singer doesn’t live in or use.

TMZ incorrectly reported–then removed–a story that Mrs. Jackson asked the estate to pay Janet’s mortgage. Untrue. Mrs. Jackson travels to Gary, Indiana, where she still maintains a home. And she likes to stay in Vegas. The estate will tell the probate court in its next report that they’re giving Mrs. Jackson funds to use for these stays. Janet — since the battles this summer over Michael’s estate–refuses to be generous enough to her mother, sources say, and just provide for her at the condo.

“There’s no way the estate would ever pay Janet’s mortgage,” laughed an insider. But my question is: what is Janet Jackson’s financial situation that she’s become so publicly unglued over money?

http://www.showbiz411.com...egas-condo

Anyone know what this is all about?

TMZ already deleted this post because it was false.

It is not a condo. It has no mortgage. Janet bought the house, which is in a gated community, for Katherine. Katherine was asking for money from the estate, not Janet.

As usual, you chose to believe what you want to.

a family who was once respected, specifically from 1969-1984 has become the most vilified in the history of entertainment, in the history of the united states

But this same family continuously play right up to those that vilify them. And they always always associate with those that set them up to look shady as fuck (ex. Howard Mann, Leonard Rowe etc.). When Katherine's buiness partner Howard Mann takes katherine around to promote her shoddy projects where is she normally promoted? To the media and audience that hates her and her family's guts. So it's hard to have much sympathy for them. These people do not play the game well at all.

As someone that grew up wtih the Jacksons, it's depressing seeing them always play right into their detractors hands, while these white families know what to say and do to look good to the public and especially their audience.

i also stand by what i said, r u dull. as mookie just posted, this family continues to play into the media's hands by playing to their lowest expectations. what kind of people would do business with howard mann? or parade mj's kids on oprah? or support some of the same people that vexed mj in life? or publically villify mj's executors, without one shred of evidence of wrongdoing, on a third rate tabloid website? the jacksons, that's who. simpletons in search of a clue.

what are you confused about? you DO revile anyone who dares to challenge your beliefs about the jacksons.

Fans like you are nothing but huge ego boosters to MJ fans. Just all in our faces with your bitterness.
