Yes, and it was another Ray (not Ray J) who found her body. It was Ray, her bodyguard. This was according to Alan Duke (sp?) on CNN.

I ALMOST hate to say "I told y'all so", but in this thread from 06/06/10: Whitney Houston to danish audience: "you piss me off"

I said on that June 2010 thread:

I predict Whitney is headed for self-destruction and an untimely demise.

Her ego won't allow her to flounder around in these bad reviews and negative opinions for too much longer, and sooner or later - she'll hear what everybody else has been hearing for a while now - that she can no longer sing (...the very thing that put her on the map).

She won't be able to woo the crowds anymore with her Golden Pipes (because her voice is shot), so she'll choose the only other option she'll see as available to end her (presumed) suffering.

I certainly hope not (...hope she proves me wronger than a MoFo), but desperate times call for desperate measures. And Whitney WILL make sure you'll remember her name (for something other than a series of failed performances). All it's gonna take is one looooong night with Jack, some smack, or some crack, and a morning sun that'll look like it's never coming. Then everybody will be like... "Aww, she wasn't THAT bad!", watch!

The world loves a good tragedy, almost as much as it loves a good comeback.

rose May she be resting peacefully (...but I saw it coming!)

Interesting observation. The first 2 had wholesome public images, and the latter had controversial public images.

Mostly likely its going to be something along the lines of heart failure, thats how long time abusers end up.

sad I can believe it. Her heart probably just gave out at the end... she still was working until the end of her life so it wasn't like she was throwing her life away...

A police spokesperson said resuscitation measures were initiated, but to little avail. Whitney was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

you seem truly upset! no denigration occurred. they did drugs. they admitted doing drugs. and now they are deceased. and no praise to Prince or Madonna who ran around looking like the Devil's own spawn but still dedicated themselves to music. it's just interesting the the "golden children" Michael and Whitney who were so gorgeous and talented are now gone from us so soon. supremely ironic! now I'll give you a pass today out of respect of your apparent personal loss....

you can take your 'pass' and cram it straight up your condescending shitty ass, okay? f-u.

Believe me, the MJ thread when he died was one of the worst and most disresepectfu i've EVER SEEN. Some people were so disgusting and rude in it. Total assholes some people were that day. I see you have some losers here once again trying to disrespect Whitney and her fans.

If you're not interested, not a fan or think this is not "important news" then stay the f**k outta this thread, PERIOD. You are NOT wanted.

She JUST DIED, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all or at least be respectful.

Whitney was a tremendous talent and deserves respect. No one can take away what she achieved. She will always be a legend.

[Edited 2/11/12 18:19pm]

I disagree with this.

There's nothing faker than eulogies. I think it is important to discuss her life and all that

was contained in it and not just fou-fou her voice because she was talented. If you piece

her life together and place it in perspective, you can be mesmerized at her talent but

saddened by the choices she made in life.

In the real world...y'know, countries other than America, this is not important news. She's

another dead, pampered, out of touch celebrity in other parts of the globe.

I am sad that she's dead because it seems like she was trying to get her shit together but

life will go on.

Makes me glad Prince found God when he did-seems to have saved him from self destruction too. This is really so sad. That pic of MJ and Whitney made me smile though.

Interesting because Houston was also religious (and so was MJ).

I think it boils down to that MJ and Houston were drug addicts and Prince and Madonna

were not.

Yes. I first heard the report an hour subsequent to her death. At first I thought the local station had fallen for a hoax, but just as I was beginning the thread I saw the Associated Press link.

And it also shows that the most successful ones- are the most troubled ones too.

MJ and Whitney were both powerhouses of talent.

what a fucking stupid thing to say. i hope when your mother dies, no one has anything kind to say about her, about what she meant to your family, about she made life better just by her being here. no, let them say nothing about that but just point out what a silly ho she was. now how would you like that?

and who the fuck cares about what they're doing in other countries? this board skews north american and europe, and 'news' is what ever anyone is interested in talking about. again, what stupid fucking thing to say. i notice you're here posting, aren't you?

At some level i see where you coming from. She didnt die by an overdose. But you better believe the evil known as crack had all 2 do with it. It makes life so hard and strange and petty for those who batte addiction. Crack has terrible effects on the body, and liveliness of the person.

You and know one else, can make me believe that Whitney would still be dead today, if Crack hadnt enter her life years ago. People just dont die of natural causes at 48. Her body probably gave out after so many years, even if she were clean. Crack complications can last a lifetime. Trust me, someone i love dearly has an addiction (i have faith, they will make it)
