I like Janet and have been to two of her shows I think she repeats herself too much.I went to one sticky and sweet show and it was amazing.Madonna is amazing because even today she challenges peoples expectations. Madonna brought what I thought she would. The show was elaborate and fun. Janet was ok.The only thing I was not fond of was the vogue choreography. It was not as good as the sticky and sweet or reinvention versions. I thought those two were way better than the super bowl or anything from the nineties.

This is getting old and no where. Why Do MJ stans have to shove their views down someones throat just to make a point? POPULARIZING is not the same as ORIGINATING. Point Blank Period.

1.It doesnt matter if the kick is different. He still got the IDEA from someone else!

2. Elvis Presley was ALREADY Thrusting his pelvis back in the what? THE 50's! LIKE I SAID

3. No one "Side-moonwalks". He's not even popular for that. He is popular for the Backwards Moonwalk from Mowtown 25, from which he was INSPIRED by kids in his neighborhood.

[img:$uid]http://gifsoup..../img:$uid] GIFSoup

^ People were gliding in the 50's too

Anyways I'm done. I said nothing but MJ getting his freestyle moves from JB. If it makes you feel any better I'll say His Freestyles were Inspired by James Brown. PERIOD. He would tell you the same.

Would it be fair if I borrowed an idea that you originated, and I popularize it and get credit for it? confused

It doesnt matter If i give credit to you or not, Because I am more popular than you, I am going to be looked at as the originator. I'm just Stating that the man got ideas from OTHER ARTSIST! You guys are insisting the man is superhuman or something!

what ever

END OF DISCUSSION

Good grief! Took you long enough

shut the fuck up... you said you was done 6 posts ago and still pressed about discrediting Michael but got the nerve to say someone is taking it seriously but you went out of your way to post gifs and pictures and I see your cheerleader is instigating the shit... making irrelevant points... some points people never denied but you and Timmy84 thats right I said it are all crazy as hell... at first I thought it was a joke but now I see you people are exactly implying Michael didnt innovate ANY of his dance moves.... weird eek

Watever continue to post your gifs and pics in this thread about JANET and MADONNA. wink

LMAO you're the one pressed over MJ not originating majority of his moves! that's the funny shit. Like I said you MJ stans are a trip, But I cant blame you, I used to be the same way. Getting in someone's ass for not thinking MJ was the God of Dance, until I grew the hell up and realized that MJ used Moves that were done before him just like ANY OTHER ARTIST does. LOL @ you being deluded at the examples I posted, cant except the fact that MJ wasnt the first to thrust his pelvis? STFU and get off my case.

There are many different kinds of pelvic thrust, gliding, etc. I wasn't suggesting that MJ invented all this, though he did invent certain kind. I guess you didn't really read my post. Fred Astaire didn't quite invent tap dancing either but he deserves credit for popularizing it, enhancing it to certain degree and including his own style, doesn't he? That was my point. I apologize if I got you so angry that wasn't my intention lol I simply jump into random posts that interest me and I like adding my opinion and what I know to it. K?

But really, do I sound like a MJ stan?!?!?! No one ever called me MJ stan before!!!! YAY MEeeeEE!!!!!!!

I wasnt really talking about you lol I was talking about that other Hot Mess.

I simply stated that MJ got his "Freestyle moves" from JB, which he did.

There are all types of dancing: Choreography, Freestyle, etc. So IDK why she just assumed that I said MJ copied ALL his dances off of someone else. I just said his "FREESTYLES" were done by others. But as I said before, the minute they see something they dont agree with, it makes the opposer a "Dumb ass". WTF?

Anywho, I'm a huge Janet and Michael Fan, but am I going to delude myself into thinking they were the first to do everything in their dances in videos? Hell Naw.

Nonetheless Michael Did Innovate his dance moves, I'll give him that, But no he did not "Create" them.

Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Yeah because I read from some article that the super bowl got 117 million views total I believe, and Madonna got 114 million views. So you mean to tell me only 3 million people turned in to watch the actual game? lol This is why I dont even believe the media anymore lol

I also heard 48 million watched her show while 114 million actually watched the Super Bowl's actual game. I'm inclining to believe more people watched the game than watched the show. Same with the other half time shows. I'm guessing half time shows get between 25-50 million views.

Yeah some of the records I be hearing about her are a little neutral

Like the one about her getting a number 1 in 50 countries? A HUGE majority of the countries were in Europe with the few exceptions of South American countries. They made it seem like she hit number 1 all over the world or something lol

but I guess a country is still a country so

lol it's only on iTunes if that was the case with 50 countries claiming a Madonna "number one"... she hit number-one in some 45 countries with "Hung Up" but I think someone beat her record. Someone had posted that GMAYL already was number-one in 37 countries and I was like "huh?" lol Of course that was probably an iTunes claim too.

yeah, The song kinda sucked ass too. It sounded like one of those songs from those "Bratz Doll" commercials or barbie doll. But then again, I guess theres two different kinds of Pop Music

You have that Peppy Cheerful dance pop music (Madonna, Katy Perry) and then you Have that Layed back with a lil hip hop edge Pop music (Janet, Rihanna). This is why I HATE it when people compare them (Janet /Madonna). Do you know why people compare them all the time? I was kinda wondering this when this thread was first posted.

This is now your 8th time saying bye to me or ending this dumb discussion but the irony is we all know your dumbass is going to reply back because your pressed as hell..

YOU did imply Michael did not innovate any of his dance moves by suggesting that he took all his moves from James Brown and then out of anger of being called out posted a bunch of Elvis and Fred gifs..

I would not have came at you the way I did if you suggested otherwise. In your posts you bashed MJ fans by suggesting they think Michael invented ALL his moves when that is a given he didnt.. you made points that people ALREADY know... my issue was you implied Michael was not original as an entertainer and that he copied moves of entertainers before him throughout his career as to discredit him. Yes he was influenced by thoses greats but he also created his moves and way of dancing as well..

I dont know what other points you are trying to prove and I pray to the heavens THIS time you are really done..neutral

1. You have yet to find where I said HE DID NOT innovate his moves, so i didnt imply shit.

2. Even if I did think MJ was an unoriginal performer (Which I dont) It's not YOUR place to cuss me out for my OPPINION

3. He DID NOT Create All of his moves maybe some, but a minimal amount

4. I DID NOT, I repeat, NOT state that MJ took ALL his moves from others. I saidHe did moves IN HIS Freestyle... FREESTYLES, that were done by others.

what Part DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? eek

I pray to heavens that You stop putting words in my mouth lol

*P.S I hope you are aware of MJ's Iconic Choreographed moves such as "Thriller" "Beat It" And the Billie Jean move he does where he stands on his tiptoes. THOSE are the type of moves he created. THOSE are NOT FREESTYLES!

Janet wins this...EASILY. As a fan of both women (lol I know, I know...), I am partial to both. And I did like Madonna's show. However, if you are going on the performance of the star alone (which you should), then Janet K.O.'d Madonna, period. Madge was stiff to say the least, slipped a couple of times, and required a three-ring circus, million-dollar effects and 20 guests to make her look good (nevermind the fact that all anyone can talk about today is MIA flipping the bird as opposed to the show itself). Also, did Madonna not think anyone was aware of this?...

Janet got up there with a minimal set, ONE guest (you can exclude Kid Rock, Outkast, Nelly and Diddy, because their segments didn't include Janet), and turned. that. shit. out. The ALL FOR YOU choreography was different than in the video, and the RN segment with the marching band and inclusion of "The Knowledge" was on point. Nevermind the fact that she worked the hell out of that stage with nary a trip, slip or fall. If I were her, I would have debuted ALL NITE instead of including Timberflake for the last bit, but that's neither here nor there. As it stands, since 2004, all halftime shows have been compared to Janet's, Madonna's included. And it will continue to be that way.

By the way, I found this online earlier. For shits and giggles... lol

get your reference right...

I think Madonna was influence by the Aphrodite, but before the show it was stated Madonna would be paying tribute to fellow HIV/AIDS Activist Fundraiser Dame Elizabeth Taylor

givenchy madonna

Sketches of Madonna's Halftime Show outfits.

Where as Kylie was going for the Goddess of Love look Madonna was Isis the Imperial State Goddess of the New Kingdom and Ptolimic Egypt and since the Ptolimy were Greek in orgiin their

Soilders would wear simliar style of the ones used in Greece, wrongly labeled Gladitors.

at 53 and a torn hamstring Madonna did better than any of us could do, with a live Like A Prayer by the way. Madonna has never focused on dance she doesn't have to prove anything her past speaks for itself.

i love janet always will but it's tiresome to see the same thing over and over and over again. when you can predict what song comes it's rough. Madonna proved with Blonde Ambition and Girlie Show that a pop star could change their stage show and still have the fans turn out but MJ and JJ i think just did the easiest way.

I don't think you can compare the two. Janet has always been about the dancing, which is going to be more and more difficult for her now as her last tour showed and Madonna has always been about the total package, the stage, the staging, the costumes, the arrangements of the songs, the running order of the songs, the lights, the videos, the dancing and making sure it was perfect. When my mom and dad who hate Madonna call me to tell me how much they loved the show, by the way my mom loves janet and was dissappointed ni her halftime show, I think Madonna did what she was trying for to give the world something they hadn't seen before.

Yeah I've heard of people hating Madonna that were pleasantly surprised too. Janet used to be about concept, stage design and planning and all that, which was highly publicized during Velvet Rope and the show got many Emmy nominations, but though the All For You stage was cutesy, I don't feel like much effort was put into stage design since though she wore some really nice outfits on following tours and sounded good.

"get your reference right..."

Uh...excuse me...

My reference is what it is. The history of what both women were going for (Kylie and Madonna) may not be historically identical, but visually, it was strikingly similar. I know that Madonna has not always been the greatest dancer, but if we are grading the performance on just that--the performance, then Janet won easily. Hell, she is 45 years old and can still work it out on the stage the way she did ten years ago when she wants to (I've seen her latest show and, trust me, she can).

"Madonna has always been about the total package, the stage, the staging, the costumes, the arrangements of the songs, the running order of the songs, the lights, the videos, the dancing and making sure it was perfect."

And Janet hasn't? Janet's stages and sets have also been impressive in the past, and vastly different (multi-level aluminum and steel RN stage; cream-colored Antoni Gaudi janet. tour stage; Broadway/storybook themed VR stage, giant catwak RWU tour stage, etc.). The Velvet Rope tour, even won one of the four Emmys it was nominated for. Her costumes are also equally impressive. As for song choices, Janet has never shyed away from performing the songs that made her famous. However, when she toured in 2008, she even did pre-"Control" songs, and she usually changes up the arrangements of various her tracks (Nasty, RN intro and outro, and IF, just to name a few).
