You already know I'm a big Janet fan, but I'm also into Madonna, and in fact I don't think either are the first to do this pose and are emulating hollywood stars from decades earlier.

Actually, the Janet fur pic is from 1993. That first militant photo IS a "who did what first" pic, but the Go Deep/Deeper and Deeper pic is just a cool photo mashup of both of them. I also never said that Janet was the first of the two to pose while smoking.

She's so gorgeous in this interview...talking bald headed guys and all. It just occured to me she had something else on her mind when someone asked her what she does for fun and she laughed so hard :p

My two cents:

- Madonna’s had imagination and creativity that Janet lacked (actually always lacks nowadays) but compared to Janet she had zero stage presence – take away the huge budget and it would be an amateur performance. It looks like Madonna is thinking in her head ( ok I got to lift my leg over my head and then ohhh turn around and do a cartwheel and then grab my crotch next to this dancer and then kneel down and clap my hands to look like I’m having a good time …) – no flow whatsoever and quite awkward.

- But on the plus side – her new song has grown on me.

Janet is definitely the better performer of the two today and she keeps on my feet at her shows still, but Madonna's stage sets, costumes and music are more creative nowadays, and I really miss that from Janet.
