SEANMAN!!!! hug

And yeah, Madonna can kiss my ass y'all. The stage and set were pretty awesome, and the last number was moving. But I really wasn't impressed by anything else. That Cleopatra intro made Elizabeth in heaven go "Is this bitch serious??" lol

Janet's performance as far as I'm concerned was superior. The dancing alone kills it. Its a shame people still focus on that titty mishap. Jeez people, get over it. It was just a wardrobe malfunction. talk to the hand

Janet forever! headbang

I have ALWAYS loved her style.... she can wear pants, dresses, baggy look, slick black etc and still be fly... Im always surprised with her looks nothing is the same... she looks great!

People are speculating that she's getting down to that "All For You" era weight. From the looks of that picture, she's not too far off.

As much as I love my wittle Jherri curl I have to agree. And his freestyles werent even freestyles, they were moves he got from James brown.

But at the same time maybe people didnt want MJ to change. sadly men dont "Get old" in the music industry, only women.

Now you know damn well that is not true.. he did ALOT more than jamesbrown footwork for dancing and I would not even call that a free style

I think you misinterpreted what I said, let me break it down wink

Is equivalent to this

+ Fred Astaire

MJ's moves were not that original. Dont get me wrong he could dance his ass off kill some choreography. But.......as far his him originating any dance moves? Naw (except for maybe the "Lean")

So I guess the kick, the crotch move and side moonwalk, the kicking up and back is not his as well?

Who's an original nowadays? Michael learned from the greats and mastered it. To me, whether or not he was an originator is irrelevant.

Umm No? When were you born? 1996? lol

1.James brown and Little richard were already doing "The Kick"

2. Grabing you crotch isnt a dance move, It's a Gesture.

3. he didnt invent the moonwalk either. And doing it sideways make that big of a difference?

4. What is kicking back and up?

Darling, I've been an MJ fan for the longest time. And even he would admit he got his shit from JB.

Janet got a few stuff from MJ

Okay I see where this is going... Im not arguing back and forth with you...

Why dont you ask yourself if its that serious, YOU brought the shit up

I never said he invented the moonwalk I said the side moonwalk.. to be more specific variations of the side moonwalk and I am not going to argue back and forth with you because this is ridiculous. I never claimed that all of the moves he did he created but to sit here and impy he didnt innovate ANY of the moves he did thats BULLSHIT...biggrin

You implied he got all his moves from James Brown when that is false when his moves and freestyles consisted of alot more thats a cliche tired ass arguement but if you want to believe it to each is own..

I am not going to change this thread by posting a bunch of MJ videos.. Looking at the Man In the Mirror in the grammys performance he does the kicking back and forth move footwork in the clip it looks easy but is very complex scroll to 6:26...

Michael is a legend and a small segment of that is because he presented iconic moves that had NEVER BEEN seen BEFORE his time... period.

The end..

BACK to Janet and Madonna..

Michael learned from his inspirations and from that came into his own as an artist and entertainer. Which I am sure YOU know.

He did not spend his entire career copying his inspirations like that dumbass is suggesting. I never implied he made ALL his moves but I be damn if I sit here and allow someone to say Michael didnt create any of the moves of his own.... somebody needs to stop smoking lol

I agree lol . But I'm literally being cussed out because I said that MJ got Moves from other people, lmao

what next? do they think he was the first to wear the military Jacket?

It's not even about stealing or borrowing, it's about Giving credit where it's due (Not that MJ never did)

But people are so quick to think that the man thought of all his iconic moves, BY HIMSELF, such as the moonwalk and the spin and kick, when it's been done in the 50's! But like you said it doesnt take away from the artist, Im not saying MJ was a bad artist, i was just stating his inspirations, and that he WAS inspired by others.

Now we can end the conversation biggrin

And some fail to realize Michael ALWAYS said where he got this and that from. I would say when it came to Michael, he emulated a lot of what he saw both as a child, a teen and as an adult. Same with any great artist. I don't understand why you're attacked either. It ain't that serious. lol

Anyways, this was about Janet and Madonna's Super Bowl performance comparisons, wasn't it? Guess this thread is dead. smile

1. JB's kick and MJ's kick are completely different

2. mjcarousel was probably referring to not just grabbing your crotch but the actual dance move; pelvic thrust, yeah it's a dance move.

3. He didn't, he said it on interview he "enhanced" the moonwalk, which he still should get a lot of credit for this because side-moonwalk eventually was enhanced to become gliding.

He said on multiple occasions that he was inspired by JB Fred Astaire, black kids' street dancing, etc. But MJ is a very original dancer in a way that he incorporated many different styles of dance and made them his own, eventually helped popularize and broaden popping. Robot, floating, mime movements, break dancing, tap dancing, I even saw some modern-ballet inspired moves from him sometimes. His freestyles from Human Nature(the ending) or Stranger in Moscow performance are very innovative. I don't think anyone was claiming that MJ originated all his dance moves by himself which is never true for anyone.

This is getting old and no where. Why Do MJ stans have to shove their views down someones throat just to make a point? POPULARIZING is not the same as ORIGINATING. Point Blank Period.

1.It doesnt matter if the kick is different. He still got the IDEA from someone else!

2. Elvis Presley was ALREADY Thrusting his pelvis back in the what? THE 50's! LIKE I SAID

3. No one "Side-moonwalks". He's not even popular for that. He is popular for the Backwards Moonwalk from Mowtown 25, from which he was INSPIRED by kids in his neighborhood.

There are many different kinds of pelvic thrust, gliding, etc. I wasn't suggesting that MJ invented all this, though he did invent certain kind. I guess you didn't really read my post. Fred Astaire didn't quite invent tap dancing either but he deserves credit for popularizing it, enhancing it to certain degree and including his own style, doesn't he? That was my point. I apologize if I got you so angry that wasn't my intention lol I simply jump into random posts that interest me and I like adding my opinion and what I know to it. K?

But really, do I sound like a MJ stan?!?!?! No one ever called me MJ stan before!!!! YAY MEeeeEE!!!!!!!
