Considering it was Madonna, I think it was decent, in Madonna standard of course. I was expecting some jumping jacks or jump-roping in the performance but I'm glad she didn't do that.

I'd rank this performance higher than BEP's performance, but slightly lower than Usher's guest appearance at the Super bowl on the same night.

Usher > Madonna >> BEP

Another thing worth noting, did anyone see how unimpressed the audience appeared to be? Several shots of the audience and people just seemed to be sitting there and not very interested. At some point, my sister and I wondered if they were playing a track of people cheering because it didn't seem to match the actual audience. LAME!

Yeah I saw the audience too. It was like lurking the whole time. The only times I saw the crowds get amped was for Tina (pre-show), Michael, Bruce and Prince.

There was more enthusiasm with even the black eyed peas performance.

I think she was smart relying on the stage effects. That wasn't her audience. Using a live band and 2 back singers wouldn't draw their attention. Isn't she the first pop female act since Janet's fiasco? (i'm really asking...not sure). She just had 2 play safe. I think it was well done 4 what it was meant 2.

This post is either bait or a joke. Can you please explain on what points Madonna's performance was better than Prince's performance, which is widely regarded on "neutral sites" as one of if not the best Superbowl performances ever?

Prince's half-time show, showcased his superiority as a performer & live musician. Madonna's half-time show was slick and well produced. She also took more advantages of the platform to promote her new music. Both were strong shows. No surprise that I liked Prince's half-time show better.

that's is something i will give both madonna and bruce, at least they did their new music unlike prince

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Yeah she's the first since Janet. Thing is I wasn't expecting her to be raunchy or nothing. I just didn't like the fact she had guests. Only guests that made any sense was M.I.A. and Nicki. I wouldn't mind Cee-Lo either but the Gordy kids shouldn't have gotten on there.

Oddly enough Janet's show would've went the same way Madonna's did had she ended it with one of HER songs like Together Again, then have Justin on there. History would've been totally different. I always said her show was like Janet's, albeit I guess without the crotch grabs in Janet's.

True, even though Madonna's new song sucks at least she did play her new material although she is also trying to promote it.

The one thing I was most disappointed in Prince's half time show was that he did covers and should've done some of his own guitar heavy songs. I would have killed to hear either "electric chair" or "bambi".

Yeah I did expect the audience to be all hype for Madonna but they weren't for some reason. Even I was kind of excited to see what she was going to do but half way through I got really disappointed.
