OK I'll admit it: I didn't. smile I remember just waiting for their part to be over with. lol

I didnt notice it either until the media pointed it out. I watched the show live, but dont remember seeing her flip the bird.

Yeah I caught a glimpse of her but I didn't see the finger. I did notice the camera blurred for a minute. When Janet's tit showed, CBS quickly turned to another camera so technically they did a better (way better) job than NBC. lol

Again...the genius of Madonna. Ten bucks says it was a calculating move. It won't have any huge affect on her because she didn't personally do it. Plus a finger is trivial compared to a titty so once the media tries to throw a hissy-fit about it (and they will) the public is gonna think their really reaching.

And it'll inadvertently catapult M.I.A. to a level of fame she's yet to witness.

Madonna, you genius bitch. You win again.

To be honest, I don't even think her flipping the bird was even that shocking. I can see some people reaching. But I can see M.I.A. getting a big audience because of this. I'm guessing her part did serve more of a purpose than Nicki's. Haha! lol Like I said, Nicki was such a non-factor.

The performance wasn't perfect, but I personally enjoyed it and thought Madonna did a good job! She seemed nervous in the beginning and was a little stiff at first, but she loosened up soon after and the performance picked up. I thought "Like A Prayer" was excellent. The highlight for me. Her exit was awesome too!

Enjoyed it

Didn't MIA do this in the video? I saw a still on here of her doing it.

I was expecting her to do it frankly but didn't see it during the telecast.

Another boring controversy for the media to obsess over for six months.

Yeah that's what I caught, the camera blurring, but it was after she flipped it lol

She definitely had the jitters. That's one of the first times I ever seen Madonna looking unsure of how this was going to go. She seemed nervous the entire show until the end.

I think she was nervous because of her injury. Probably scared to death she'd have a spasm and fall off those steps. razz

I thought Madonna did a good job. And a great job by Madonna standards. The set and effects where great. I guessed she would do Vogue, Music, (New song), and Holiday to end it. I was wrong on the Holiday part-I think it would have been better if she had. I think the like a prayer-was trying to have a moment. It didn't work for me. The LMAO where not needed-as people stated before.

I think it was dumb on her part to wear high heals. She probably would have performed better out there on stage- if she wasn't in those heals.

I was thinking the same thing. And thinking, they could never watch Soul Train, American Bandstand or Solid Gold

Artists on those shows were required to Lip Sync for the most part. Big Difference.

I think the point many people have made is that she is more of a visual pop artist- not a great vocalist. I think with all that flipping and running in heels, she would sound crazy. I think most of us expect some half time shows will be live and some will be lip sync'd- depending on who the performer is.

Even if she wasn't injured I still think she'd been scared. Why didn't she do a soundstage rehearsal and then determine how many moves she could actually do on there to balance it out? lol It seems like she was like "let's get this over with it but lemme see if I can still do it". I never seen that before from her. Usually she seems more fearless onstage.

Boring. Horrible. Lip-synched. She forgot she's got a couple dozen hits.

You know she screwed up big time when an LMFAO song got bigger applause than any of hers.

Prince and Springsteen remain the standard bearers.

That was awful. I was trying to be objective because us Prince fans always set the bar out of reach of every other artist. But, no really, Madonna was so stiff. And how is it the Cee-Lo was the only one singing live? On a close up her lips weren't even in sync with the recording. That was a mess.

The weirdest thing about this performance was Madonna being nervous- I've never seen Madonna look so nervous in any of her stage performances, given that she's been so confident in every performance I've seen previously of hers.

If you want to give Prince's performance praise over Madonna's, at least he didn't have to use all the theatrics or guests to help him. What's trending now is M.I.A 's middle finger while she was on stage, that will get more coverage than whatever Madge did. I thought is was an OK show, give Cirque de Soliel dancers their credit .

Not even Janet showed that nervousness. She got excited from that flash mishap though. And Prince possibly was nervous in the beginning but he aced it out in the end. But Madonna... wow...

That was the ONLY thing saved that performance foreal foreal because she damn sure cant dance.. I mean she looked GREAT but the dancing was WAY off.. Yes give props where it is due.

So, in order of publicity we have:

1. MIA's bird

2. LMFAO getting more applause than Madonna

3. Lip-synching.

At least Madonna got paid.

The dudes on the Tom Joyner Morning Show were saying Friday that she didn't really have a hamstring injury. She was just setting the public up for what she knew was going to be a lame show.

They were kidding but in retrospect, they were right!
