Mayne Nicki was such a non factor... and I didn't really give M.I.A. much thought. They were kinda just there like LMFAO were. Only guest that pulled his weight was Cee-Lo.

Saying "Prince is talented" is a huge understatement, so of course we expect the best from him and know that he will deliver. Putting Prince expectations on Madge is... Strip those away, and you get exactly what you expect from a Madge show.

I don't necessarily see it as a big deal, especially if someone's sung live before and people know that they are capable of doing it. Dancing and special effects can sometimes hamper that, so they lip-synch instead.

The way I see it, if you can still put on good quality show without live vocals, then more power to ya. It certainly doesn't make you an inferior artist.

I'll be surprised if you get away with saying that, because you know folks on this site think very differently

Meh...It was okay... it was visually entertaining just like on the same level as watching my dance team at school not something memorable to say the least.

I still thought she could have been a bit more creative but I guess according to HER STANDARDS.. it was descent which really isnt saying to much.

I prefer live vocals, too. But if you must lip-synch, the visuals/dancing better be off the hook, since I'm a big fan of those, too.

Yeah. It's been like that since 1994 actually. Only other performers that did it solo was Michael, Prince, Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney.

she hasn't done a lot of lip-synching on her last few tours, but it does still pop up occasionally for dance-heavy numbers.

Well, that's on them. In fact, if an artist can still move me and put on a powerful show without live vocals, that's pretty impressive. Not to mention I'm a dancer, so I LOVE dance numbers, too, lol.

Eli Manning and Tom Brady may know their way around the football field, but Sunday night, New England Patriots and New York Giants fans could take a break from taking sides to root for the queen of the (ever intricate) stage: Go Madonna!

The Super Bowl halftime show kicked off with a royal welcome as an army of gladiators escorted the veteran performer onto Indianapolis's Lucas Oil Stadium stage. With a diamond-studded gold crown, Madonna, 53, launched into her hit "Vogue" as the stage flashed covers of the iconic fashion magazine.

Next on the set list: her 2000 dance jam "Music." Joining her on the stage were the guys behind LMFAO – Stefan (Redfoo) and Skyler (SkyBlu) Gordy – who joined Madonna to sing samples from their hits, "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy and I Know It."

With a stage that was as flashy and glittering as her dance moves, Madonna then performed her new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin," with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. – in full-on cheerleading uniforms – who are also featured on the song. (M.I.A. also gave the finger during her solo, an act that eluded the NBC censors.)

But the finale of the 12-minute performance was classic Madonna. With a hand from Cee Lo Green, she swapped her gladiator queen assemble for a glittering black robe to sing her 1989 hit, "Like a Prayer" (which she opened with samplings of "Open Your Heart" and "Express Yourself.").

Backed by a gospel choir, the fiery performance ended with a true sizzle: The stage burst into a cloud of smoke as the singer belted out the final note out of sight.

The final message of the show – "World Peace" – was illuminated on the stage.

"I'm going to come in halfway between the church experience, and I'm going to have to deliver a sermon that's going to have to be very impactful," she previously said of her nerves leading up to game day. "I have to put on the greatest show on earth in the middle of the greatest show on earth."
