I was so afraid of this performance.....however.....

I will NEVER DOUBT MY QUEEN BITCH EVER AGAIN!!!!!

That shit was hot and that Vogue entrance was the fucking biznezz for ME.

I'm so proud that all three of my favorite icons, MJ, Prince, and Madonna halftime shows lived up to their status.

Believe it or not although covers are a safe bet for the Superbowl crowd, many people I hang with who are not into P at ALL love those songs and say they are the only songs of his they can stand. I'm not saying play the whole thing, but it being incorporated would definitely have been better than hearing his version of "the best of you".

confused

I guess but Prince made his own rules of what he probably thought suited the Super Bowl. Technically people cheered the loudest when he did his own songs.

True, but sometimes I wonder if he's out of touch (well I shouldn't wonder) with what that general crowd would like. I would like any artist to throw a surprise in there one day and not just go with their usual suspects for performances.

so did Tom Petty. and Michael Jackson. and Roger Daltry should have. and every performance of the Star Spangled Banner there.

what's your point?

[Edited 2/5/12 17:57pm]

It's a cheat.

It's inauthentic.

Anybody can do it.

It ain't real.

It's fake.

It's lazy.

It's inappropriate for a "live" performance...

It ain't that deep, either.

Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

The best moments of Madonna's show were:

The intro and "Vogue"

The band segment
"Like a Prayer"

Her exit

LMFAO just being there really cheapened it.

I'm indifferent to the performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" because it was a promotional grab.

She's slower than she once was as a dancer (definitely not the Madonna of old) and she knew she was gonna get press and sales pushes for appearing on there so it did the job it was supposed to do on a technical basis.

That said, I've seen her give better shows than this.

Overall, I rank it a B-.

What's so crazy about this all is that the media are going to pump her ego up as always and not report it like it truly is...IT SUCKED! Plain and simple. She has a lot of nerve to have the attitude she has for such minimal talent. I like some of her music from the 80s but she has never deserved being mentioned in the company of Prince, The Boss, MJ, Elton John or any other artists from that time. Cyndi Lauper kicks her ass!

Exactly. I've seen almost evey popular video of her's back in the 80's. "like a virgin" "express yourself" "papa dont preach" ect

But I always ened up having this blank stare at the end of each video like "wtf did i just watch"?

I damn sure dont know why they try to put her on par with MJ lol

[Edited 2/5/12 18:04pm]

not tryin' 2 argue who's better here..But MJ usually relied more on gimmicks and special effects than madonna. I love them both..but it's true. Maybe he didn't need it as madonna, but he done it a LOT!

I think most who do halftime performances don't quite know what will please the crowd... I doubt Prince was the only one who felt that way. I know Madonna had to change her set list a few times. If she done Holiday her show would've been better. Janet possibly changed her's. And I can imagine the problems Paul McCartney had with his, like he didn't know if a SB audience would accept him not doing "Hey Jude" and he still got the worst reviews of any Super Bowl halftime show.

Didn't watch, but haven't the Superbowl half time shows always been more of a spectacle? Lip synching, effects, and gimmicks have always been part of the Half Time show so why are people angry about Madge following suit?

Yes, Holiday would have been more appropriate, but I kinda liked "Vogue" especially since I am a sucker for anything leopard print. Vogue and Like a Prayer were the two highlights for me.

The bitch looked human.

Her kicks, spins, twirls, all were executed by a woman battling gravity,

and time. I thought it was pretty good but not memorable.

I still would hit, though; she's always been sexy to me. And cougar

As I said, I thought the Vogue performance was a good highlight of the performance. That intro was sick. Like I said, the show was okay and it served its purpose. I actually expected it to be worse than what it was but I was impressed with the presentation. Like I said already, it was okay but yeah those performances were the highlights for me too.

because she's Madonna lol people will always look for reasons to criticize her. It's a good thing that she has a thick skin....a defiant "I don't give a fuck" attitude.

there was one part where I thought it looked like she'd strained it again and looked like she was trying to keep dancing/walking but was about to fall over and was trying to muscle through it. or it may have just been the choreography for that part.

She looked like she was holding her side after getting up during the ending of Like a Prayer if you looked closely.
