nod You read my mind Kida, I was just thinking how cool he moved on that stage. Its creepy that Frazier just died. They come in 3s so some other celeb is about to drop. I hate to put it that way but it is what it is. sad

You have read my mind. Death seems to come in three's, nowadays, and I hate to think who's next.

I don't really like much rap, but Heavy D was probably 1 of 3 I liked. Tupac was one as well.

Dang.

VIBE reported his death may have been related to respiratory problems:

BREAKING - Heavy D Dead At 44

In sad news this Tuesday, the hip-hop world loses a favorite with the death of Heavy D. Legend Grandmaster Flash tweeted the news, while a source confirmed to VIBE that D, born Dwight Arrington Myers, passed away in Los Angeles due to respiratory issues.

Heavy D & the Boyz were the first group signed to Uptown Records and released their celebrated debut, Living Large, in 1987. D made his last television appearance last month on Law & Order and performed at this year's BET Hip Hop Awards.

Heavy D's final message to the world lies in his Twitter timeline where he typed "BE INSPIRED!" hours before his resting.

More details as this story develops.

I wonder how Mary, Puffy, Andre Harrell, Monifah, the members of Soul 4 Real and all of them are feeling about this and the surviving members of Heavy D and the Boyz...

Let it be known, without Heavy D., there wouldn't have been an Uptown and hip-hop and R&B wouldn't have meshed together in the early years had it not been for him, Teddy Riley and the rest. True hip-hop pioneer. He inadvertently helped to create hip-hop soul too. After Mary, he produced Monifah's entire first two albums, especially the first one, which had his genius on it.

This is really sad. He lost weight in later years...looked like he was taking care of himself! I'm shocked. I was listening to "Long Distant Girlfriend" last week. He definitely was great for rap music but I also remember him as a good actor & a fun guy! Heavy was Class! He was a big man who did even BIGGER THINGS.
