From memory that remix is from the CD single included in the GHOSTS vhs boxset.

Though it *might* have been on a History CD single - but I'm pretty sure it was the Ghost boxset.

Michael Jackson's ex-GM sentenced on tax violation

WASHINGTON (AP) — A judge on Tuesday spared Michael Jackson's former general manager prison time after she tearfully admitted failing to file her taxes and blamed the failure on being overwhelmed with the late singer's affairs.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Kay sentenced Raymone Bain to five years' probation and to pay $202,422 in back taxes to the IRS andDistrict of Columbia for the 2006-2008 tax years.

Prosecutors said Bain was earning $30,000 a month as president and general manger of the Michael Jackson Co. during that time. They asked Kay to lock her up for a year and a half to show that tax scofflaws will be punished.

"It's important that the law-abiding taxpayers of the United States are not dupes for following the law," prosecutor Karen Kelly told the judge, also noting that Bain has yet to file returns for 2009 or 2010.

Bain pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to file returns — one for the IRS and one for the District of Columbia, where she ran a public relations firm from the basement of her home. She specialized in handling media relations for high profile clients, including tennis star Serena Williams, longtime Washington mayor and councilman Marion Barry and rhythm and blues vocal group Boyz II Men.

Her attorney said the criminal charges have damaged her business because clients don't want someone with her problems speaking on their behalf.

Bain became Jackson's spokeswoman in 2003 and the singer promoted her to head of his company in 2006 after his child molestation trial. She said she was responsible for rehabilitating his image and finances, including negotiating the release of a CD to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his "Thriller" album, refinancing his loan to keep the Beatles' song catalog, and negotiations that led to a sold-out concert series in London cancelled because of his death. In 2009, she sued him for $44 million she said she was owed for handling the deals — one of many former Jackson associates to sue for failure to pay — but attorneys for his estate successfully argued to have the case thrown out last year.

Still, Bain spoke affectionately of her former boss in court Tuesday, referring to him as "the late king of pop Michael Jackson" in reading a statement to the judge pleading for mercy. She sobbed as she recalled how he and her mother, who had Alzheimer's disease, died six months apart in 2009.

"Addressing their needs, your honor, became my mission," she said in a quiet voice, shaking with emotion. She noted that she was granted extensions to file her taxes and said she had an appointment with her accountant to do so when the IRS came to her door.

"I was wrong not to stop and get things done and to focus, but I was an emotional wreck," she said.

Kay responded that being busy isn't an excuse for failing to file tax returns. He said Bain clearly had the resources and staff available to help her, noting prosecutors found deposits of roughly $1.3 million during the three years she didn't file taxes. But he said he would not send her to jail for the first-time offense. He gave her a 90-day sentence but suspended it and instead ordered the probation.

MICHAEL JACKSON IS WORLD'S TOP DEAD EARNER

AFP October 26, 2011, 5:17 am NEW YORK (AFP) -

For a second straight year Michael Jackson is the world's top dead earner, according to a macabre list compiled by Forbes magazine of stars whose earning power remains undiminished beyond the grave. The King of Pop, who died two years ago at the age of 50, brought in $170 million for his estate over the past 12 months, enough to place him ahead of every other pop music act of the past year -- both living and dead -- except for Irish rock band U2.

Elvis came in second place, earning $55 million, thanks to his evergreen songbook and a hit Las Vegas stage production featuring his tunes mounted by Cirque de Soleil. In third place was movie siren Marilyn Monroe, who had $27 million in earnings over the past year. "Peanuts" cartoon creator Charles Schulz was fourth while Beatles' legend John Lennon tied for fifth place with screen goddess Elizabeth Taylor, both earning $12 million.

While much of Lennon's revenues came as payment from other musicians performing his music, Taylor's largely came from her best-selling perfume White Diamonds. The fragrance had gross sales of $54 million in the United States in 2010, according to industry experts cited by Forbes. Taylor's estate also appears likely to net handsomely from a December sale later this year by the Christie's auction house featuring the late actress's jewels, art work and gowns. Experts said it could fetch $30 million.

Forbes, which compiled its list by consulting agents, lawyers and other experts, said the year's 15 deceased top earners were:

1. Michael Jackson

2. Elvis Presley

3. Marilyn Monroe

4. "Peanuts" cartoon creator Charles Schulz

5. John Lennon, tied with Elizabeth Taylor

7. Theoretical physicist Albert Einstein

8. Children's author Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel

9. Rock legend Jimi Hendrix; Swedish writer Stieg Larsson; Hollywood actor Steve McQueen; and legendary composer Richard Rodgers

13. Beatle George Harrison, tied with American pin-up girl Bettie Page and pop art creator Andy Warhol

With the estate confirming that a 25th anniversary edition of Bad is on the way, how would you guys like to see it released? In a deluxe boxset (more expensive) or would you like to see them do a simple re-release with a few outtakes similar to the 2001 special edition (cheaper)

The latter with more of the cuts left off from the album ("Streetwalker", "Fly Away", "Cheater" and two, three other songs).

I was at a record store putting an application in and took a look at the huge deluxe edition of Pink Floyd's and the wheels in my head started turning......

The only special thing they should do for Thriller's 30th anniversary is certify it triple diamond in the US on the anniversary, it's perfect! He totally sold way more than the Eagles a long time ago, and it's the 30th year, so why not? That alone will generate more sales. And Thriller already got a successful 25th anniversary. It was sold out here and I had to go back a week later to get it, and then someone else I know wanted to borrow it from me to dub the DVD. It's time for Bad to get special treatment. I would like to hear demos of the existing songs, but most of all, I want cuts that didn't make it, maybe an entire disc full of them, and the Wembley Bad tour, or possibly the best moments of all that shows so it's edited to be a perfect concert.

And I think the Ghosts set came with a single with that remix, but the HIStory single came out later on and had those 2 Ghosts remixes.
