Ok. The way this whole thing has played out is not appalling at all, it's just pissing on Mike's legacy. It needs to stop now.

On a side note, i've been to Tunisia this last week and was subjected to an MJ tribute in my hotel that was actually pretty good. Better at least than this new version of 'Hollywood Tonight' which i fear may get MJ up and out of his grave eating brains. I'd chant 'Michael! Michael!" if he did. Roll on 2012 so we're all out of here.

Shit any tribute to Michael would be better than what Sony and 'em are doing. And I'm also for it if Michael got up off his grave and really did the "Thriller" number on them summabitches.

I'm ignoring it now. Give it a few years and we may get quality releases. It's interesting that Post-MJ, the quality stuff has come from Motown. 'Hello World', 'The Unreleased Masters' and 'Live At the Forum' put SONY/MJ Estate to shame.

True. Motown gets the most kudos because even though they had their share of cashing in on his death and legacy, they make up for all of that madness by producing and releasing quality stuff. Hello World: The Motown Solo Collection, I Want You Back!: The Unreleased Masters, and Live at the Forum were excellently done. The reissues of the Jackson Five albums were great and worthy too.

Sony needs to step it up and honor this man by releasing a box set of rarities and unreleased stuff. He helped bulid that establishment and make it what it is. Hell, I even made my own compilation of rare stuff, b-sides from the solo Epic-era and it's pretty good too:

What do fans want a high budget special effects video that cost 5 million to make?

Nope. I want some effort, and some creativity. AND GUESS WHAT? Both of those things.... cost NOTHING.

I could have made a better video than this for a fraction of what they spent on it, and I'm not even a video director.

For the most part, the posthumous Tupac videos have been very good - "Changes", "Do 4 Love", "I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto", "Baby Don't Cry", "Hail Mary" - ALL very good videos, with a great deal of effort and creativity gone into them. And none of them are "high budget special effects videos that cost 5 million".

You simply can't say the same thing for either "Hold My Hand" or "Hollywood Tonight" videos.

And you know what - even if fans DID want a high budget special effects video that cost 5 million, that isn't much to ask either considering the Estate has made a BILLION dollars since MJ passed.

Everything about this album - from the choice of tracks, the choice of guests, the fake Cascio songs, the promotion, the artwork, the packaging, the music videos, EVERYTHING just shows one thing - that the people making the decisions simply do not give a fuck about Michael or his legacy. They simply don't care enough to put in time, effort, creativity or care. None. And then they wonder why the album doesn't sell much? It feels like they're treating Michael's posthumous career as an obligation. There's no love. There's no passion there. Everybody can see it.

I think no matter what the estate does you will always have fans saying i could have done better than that. The estate does not have to release anything if they dont want to.

Also mJ has gotten a lot of love since his death...Dude aint Jesus Christ

The label and estate will always be about supporting MJ and also MAKING MONEY....PROFIT

Since his death MJ had a televised memorial with celebrities singing to his coffin like Usher, Mariey Carey, and athletes such as Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant talking about how great a person he was, as well as Brooke Shields. It was shown all over the world. The "This is it" movie was HYPED up like crazy. They showed a preview of the movie on the 2009 MTV video music awards. How many people get there movie advertised...NOT BY COMMERCIAL...but in the middle of the award show where they let the audience know "This is it" is coming with the preview

The movie advertisement was showing up everywhere...my email, my login, when i go to youtube....The "this is it" album did well.

I mean MJ is dead.....I think its time to move on. Any new material released i think fans should look at it as a addition to their collection. Being picky about a video should only be if the artist is alive

And I'm not one of those fans. I give credit where credit is due. This video is piss-poor.

I'm a huge Tupac fan. In the 14 years since he passed, his Estate have made the right decisions 90% of the time. I've NEVER said "I could do better" with any of the projects they've done (with only one exception, the album Eminem produced) because they've been consistently of a HIGH quality.

You want to see how to handle a dead musicians legacy? All you gotta do is look at Tupac albums like "R U Still Down?", "Still I Rise", "Better Dayz". Executed flawlessly, from the packaging, the cover art, the videos, the production, the remixing, the promotion. Handled with love, care, respect, and a passion to do right to honor his legacy.

NONE of that can be said about "Michael". NONE OF IT. And I'd wager that damn near everyone on this topic would agree.

They don't have to release anything if they don't want to? Well, you know what? DON'T release anything if you're gonna half-ass it. Either do it properly, or don't do it at all. Michael's legacy deserves nothing but the best. And that sho nuff ain't what we're getting. NOWHERE NEAR.

Supporting MJ? Nah. Making profit - well, you got that right.

Putting FAKE songs sung by an imposter on an album is NOT supporting MJ.

Putting the bare minimum effort into the artwork/design is NOT supporting MJ.

Half-assing the promotion is NOT supporting MJ.

Making trash amateur videos that display ZERO creativity is NOT supporting MJ.

What they are doing is pissing on the legacy of one of the greatest artists of all time.

As for your other comment - I don't give a fuck about jesus, i'm an atheist. I show the most amount of love to MJ and I have done since I was 2 years old.

Jesus legacy is meaningless to modern society because it's all based on poorly translated third party accounts that contradict each other and over the course of a couple of thousand years have been twisted beyond recognition to mean whatever the fuck egotistical self-serving delusional people want them to mean to suit their warped agendas, resulting in the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of millions because idiotic groups of people want to fight about whose magical friend in the sky is better than whose.

michael's legacy, on the other hand, is a first-hand documented lifetime of love, positivity, humanitarianism, charity, self-improvement, education, equality, forgiveness, and healing that is RELEVANT to the time in which we live. So yeah - it's about a BILLION times more important to me.

Why did they sample Billie Jean's drum and alter the music...It's losta lot of it's energy to me. Ah taryll's bridge is gone....not a bad thing per se. Still kinda underwhelmed with the lazy Billie Jean sample, and different mixing.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the new Billie Jean remixed version of this song either and I agree that by doing that it lost alot of the energy the original version had. Hollywood Tonite was poppin with energy--which is what I liked about it. But putting the BJ beat in it slows the song down confused --not a good decision imo. As for Taryll's bridge being removed--perhaps Sony had it removed as payback by due to Taryll's constant tweeting against the Michael cd? lol

Overall the not a fan of the new video or the new remixed version of HT, thumbs down.

I watched the video - it was better than I thought it would be - though it does feel a little like a commercial for a dance film "Center Stage" and the like. The storyline unfolded like I thought it would with a flashmob scene at the end of the narrative.

Like all of you the first thing that hit me was the Billie Jean beat. To me this is a mis-step. It's like saying Michael's only good beat was that signature one from Billie Jean. The off beat of Hollywood Tonight had a bit of a swagger to it that is sadly missing in this.

I also felt the overdubs at the start were a little "doth protest too much" - overlayering it as if to say "see it is MJ".

As for Tarryll's missing bridge - I welcomed it. I always wanted to hear the song without it and it didn't feel like it was lacking.

I hope when it's released as a cd-single there are some remixes of it, and the original version is on there too.

I'm glad the estate is supporting the album - and I hope it gets the airplay it deserves (preferably the original mix)

Farrakhan is not intolerant and hateful. Not even close. Some people just can't handle the truth.

Most of the people that speak ill against Minister Farakhan knows very little to absolutely nothing about him and the Nation of Islam. Some folks should try reading or listening to his speaches on youtube. Upon the return of Christ, I wonder what these folks are going to say then. Are they going to call Christ homophobic?

I don't believe any of that demon shit either. And yeah, I tried Ouiji boards when I was kid....foolish rubbish designed to scare the weak minded. Give me evidence of it moving on it's own... otherwise I call bullshit on your little tales. Put up, or shut up. There is NO proof of any of that supernatural shit. the person called Jesus who existed was just a normal dude with some cracked-out hallucinating followers that made up a bunch of shit and wrote it down, no different to L Ron Hubbard and Scientology. It's all bullshit made to control the masses.

Headed down the wrong path? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that's hilarious.

LMFAO at Magic Johnson doing more than MJ. WRONG. Go read the Guinness Book of Records - Michael is the biggest humanitarian OF ALL TIME.

And yes, that includes supporting low-income areas, not just in the US but all over the world. Unlike you, Michael wasn't biased. WHY is supporting low income areas in the US more important than giving millions to childrens hospitals in war-torn places and raising awareness for children who have contracted AIDS or children who have been born with deformities from nuclear disasters? ALL things Michael did amongst many more.

Actually, the plights of many of these communities makes the US ghettos look like paradise by comparison. For all the low-income and problems and lack of opportunities, it ain't a country torn apart by war. You can get welfare from the government and you will NEVER starve to death or have to drink infected water just to survive. You don't have to worry about your town or area getting invaded by soldiers and torn apart. You aren't in a terroristic dictatorship like some places where you'll get killed by your OWN government for supporting a different political ideal. You'll never have to walk miles and miles just in the hope of MAYBE finding some food and water for your family.

So get the fuck out with your self righteous "Magic Johnson did this for the HOOD, the people in the HOOD, building movie theatres" and shit. Fuck that. There's people with serious problems all over the world that would do ANYTHING to live in the poorest, worst ghetto of the USA. Because it's still a million fucking times better than what they have to deal with.

Seriously, do you even read your own posts?

MJ gave money to charity...whipt de dooo....Did MJ create job opportunities for people in low income areas?....NOPE

um... you ARE aware of the violations starbucks has committed over time, right? so... magic johnson basically puts white-owned businesses in black communities, and you're saying this is better than michael contributing money out of pocket, paying for peoples' liver transplants, creating burn centres, paying for funerals, contributing to centres in south central l.a., where kids have something to do... where he was in the motherland, forming oppertunities so african people can have economic empowerment... how about contributing to the favelas in brazil, so people could have an opportunity to experience the arts?

why are you comparing? you can contribute all the money in the world to something, but most important is the intent. michael's message has always been very clear in relation to his contributions: to make sure people are able to have a voice, and take care of themselves.

Wow your putting MJ above Jesus Chris!!!....I guess it all depends on how your grew up.

But i will say this...The DEVIL is real....Demons have been seen "UP CLOSE" in personal. So you believe in EVIL....but not GOOD...such as Jesus

Play a WIGI board and TEMPT IT.. ( I DARE U) ..Back in 1991 my friends and i asked it questions AND put the afterlife to the TEST

1. What is Cedrics girlfriends name.....It spelled it correctly

2. What is my name....It spelled it.....We are not directing it to those letters

3. What is the middle name of my girlfriend....It spelled it right on point

4. What is your name? LUCIFER

5. I said spin in circles...it did...I said faster, faster, faster....the thing was spinning so fast i went off the board .....When i mean fast, it was spinning ridiculous fast

6. Noah's ark was found....Put two and two together! Why did he build a ark? Because he was in communication with GOD

We put that WIGI board in the TRASH quick

So to believe demons are real, but not Jesus is real.....Your heading down the wrong path

and i happen to believe in the existence of jesus (as i believe in GOD). i certainly do not place man (and this includes michael) above GOD. i also believe there are devils walking around here on earth. these devils are VERY prominent in popular culture. i also believe that we are able to have connections with those in the spirit world.

but what you are saying honestly does not make sense to me. i'm not invalidating your situation (as i don't know you and only you and those involved know what happened) but i have never heard of a situation where a ouija board actually works effectively. most people who work with spirit guides actually advise against it.

i'm not exactly sure how you are connecting the ouija board and GOD. are you stating that ouija boards are prompted by the devil? i am just not grasping your point.

Guys... this june it's going to be two years...

I think it's time to start letting him go...

Hey, you're free to...but I can't. He lives forever with me...

the teachings are what's most important. the teachings live forever, even if he physically does not. as long as the teachings remain, he remains.

I've been letting "him" go. I do believe even with all the mess around the family, the estate, that "doctor" and all of that, he is at peace.

i sincerely don't believe he is at peace... there is still a lot of work to be done, because of his children. they are in trouble. i truly believe that. it's more of a looming trouble. i think spirits linger, even if we cannot see them, due to the work they left here on earth.
