Yeah...NYC has its fair share of MJ books & things (depending where in the city you go). Especially the biggest Japanese book store in the city. In fact, I would recommend you visit the Japan Town in Cali. From what I know Japan loves MJ so they might have some stuff there. (Or not.)

Though I do agree with the fact that there's barely any books on those acts and a ton of them on The Beatles, Led Zep, Ozzy Osbourne, and etc. The only exception is Jimi Hendrix. In reality, it's just plain racism. I think that it's a good sign that people want to study MJ more in trying to evaluate his place in history and stuff is being written now. Greg Tate says that he's working on a James Brown book, but I hope that with MJ's death more black artists that don't fit what rock critics define as to be 'actual music' will get more attention. Prince is kinda the exception, but it seems like no one refers to anything he's done after Purple Rain or SOTT. Also, American LOVES rock and country music. I don't know why, but they do. In reality, the fact that MJ is the only black male near the top 10 of their list of highest selling artists is an amazing feat, in itself.

Don't a lot of artists do something similar to this now, especially after MJ did the Leave Me Alone video? Then again, this is something that's only relegated to a select few artists. Someone who isn't that popular would kinda get laughed at. Well, either way, just because they did it, doesn't mean that song is good. Its like I said, it's just the lyrics that are so painful to listen to, everything else is fine.

Maybe, but the problem is that the messages are in the music & art. If they don't keep promoting the muisic then they and the messages will become lost with time. It's important to keep it out there for the younger generations who will grow up and not know anything about him.

Only because someone, later, redid his music which sparked up a lot of interest, before that no one even remembered the man or anything he did. Things aren't 'magically' remembered, especially on such a large scale. Even Mozart got a movie in the 80s. A lot of Debussy's work was used in many epsiodes of Looney Tunes. Would I had even known the words to Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' had it not been for Wayne's World in the 90s and MTV constantly playing the song due to renewed interest that the movie had created? I know you don't agree, but this is how the real world works. I know people who weren't even familiar with the Beatles work until Rock Band came out. If someone encounters a song that they like from another popular media or from someone else, then they will seek it out and some will even go so far as to look into the artist's other work.

It may be MJ but the song sounds real sketchy to me. I can hear his voice in it, but at times it doesn't sound like him. That's why I never listen to it

There's a lot of Melodyne going on in "Hollywood Tonight", but it's still clearly MJ. It has all his hallmarks, but just wasn't a finished vocal so they've had to process it and clean it up a fair amount.

Not to mention Brad Buxer (who produced the demo of it) is quite obviously a credible source..... unlike the Cascio's. There's nothing about "Hollywood" that makes me think it's anyone other than the king of pop.

There's about a million things on the Cascio tracks that might it quite clear it's not Michael.

Clearly "Hollywood Tonight" is Michael's. It was just unfinished.

I love how the plotline for the "Hollywood Tonight" video involves a MJ fan

going to Hollywood, and not following the plot of the song so tightly, that

it's just some fame obsessed chic and nothing more. It made me like the

main actress in the video a bit more. By the end of the video..I was smiling

ear to ear when she was doing the MJ dancing with the crowd. Sure, it was predictable,

but who cares?

I wonder if any other MJ fans had this experience, so I was just gonna pose this question

and see if anyone else can feel what I'm trying to say...

The more people hated on Michael, while he was alive, made me like/respect him

more as an artist and a person. He was largely misunderstood and disrespected because

of it. At times Michael didn't make it easy to be a supporter, but I always stuck by him.

I defended him in any way possible. The more people would call him "Jacko," "Fag," or

"Creepy" - the more I'd play his music louder. My being a fan wasn't about rebelling against

the people who hated him, but I know it played a part of it. That's why now when people praise

him (since he has passed away) I'm like, "What the hell?" What is it about human nature that

makes it so hard for us to give someone their flowers when they are alive?
