85 Agents showed up on a clear Saturday night in June 2008. The mission? We started a dirty little rumor that Michael Jackson was having dinner on the rooftop of Stingaree in Downtown San Diego. We had no idea we would double the size of our group with this little fib about the King of Pop. Our 85 agents turned into 150-200 screaming, chanting, and singing - Michael Jackson fans. We took over all four corners and the intersection. The restaurant manager came out and asked us to leave their sidewalk, neighbors came out of apartments, and people left their dinner tables to come join the excitement; waiting for MJ to make an appearance. The very confused wait staff watched in confusion from inside the front window.

yeah! i saw this video! this was one of those pranks that people fell for! it was from a notorious group who pulls pranks like that. i thought it was hilarious, and proof that all these people who wanna talk about him still drool when they so much as THINK he is around.

quite a bit of his songs have been backmasked over the years... when people tried to prove he worshipped the devil or molested children. now folks are backmasking things to prove he is still physically here.

Very interesting! Did some people really think they'd find backmasked messages about him molesting children in his songs? confused disbelief

that's the same question i have myself. but people came out of the woodwork and backmasked the songs, trying to pull something out.

so so true. MJ was a megastar with few, if any peers. Anyone who ever thought different was a fool with the lights on.

I miss my baby so much. Everything I wrote yesterday went out the window when I was sitting by myself at work this evening, I was nearly crying and thinking about him.

Why did they sample Billie Jean's drum and alter the music...It's losta lot of it's energy to me. Ah taryll's bridge is gone....not a bad thing per se. Still kinda underwhelmed with the lazy Billie Jean sample, and different mixing.

It's the original demo with a BJ drum sample.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the new Billie Jean remixed version of this song either and I agree that by doing that it lost alot of the energy the original version had. Hollywood Tonite was poppin with energy--which is what I liked about it. But putting the BJ beat in it slows the song down confused --not a good decision imo. As for Taryll's bridge being removed--perhaps Sony had it removed as payback by due to Taryll's constant tweeting against the Michael cd? lol

Overall the not a fan of the new video or the new remixed version of HT, thumbs down.

While I must be the minority here, I like the new mix. Yeah, it is kind of slowed down - but I still like it. Is this remix going to be included on the single? What is the name of it? "The Billie Jean Remix?" Haha. lol

Seriously though, Militant or someone should make a mix of "Hollywood Tonight" with just the 2 verses one time, and with some choruses, and call it a day. I never was a fan of the spoken bridge. It was WAY too long on the album cut, and this time, by just repeating the first verse, it kinda seemed silly. 2 verses. Some choruses would make that song perfect and more radio friendly. Just sayin.

Liked the plot of the video. Was that really MJ's star? I remember when Michael passed a lot of fans were leaving flowers on the wrong star. smile

I seriously wish we could get an animated Michael Jackson video, with MJ in it, either like Boondocks style animation, or CGI type stuff.

Tom Barrack on Plans for Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch

On his plans for Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch:

"Our plans have been to work to restore it to its original greatness. The place is amazing. It has not only the beautiful spirit and softness of Michael, but a legacy of a thousand years of Indian culture that had transacted upon it. We have just been restoring it, renovating it. We have not really wanted to do anything commercial with it. The estate of Michael Jackson--they have done a great job in managing the estate. We are kind of waiting for them to decide what really they would like to do with us and with it. We are just being good stewards of a very special place."

BabyBeMine

What do fans want a high budget special effects video that cost 5 million to make? Yea its about the legacy, but its also about making money as well. MJ aint here, so they are smart just doing simple videos that are not expensive where they can profit and still get the new releases out.

The re-mix..the vocals are actually more clear

I'm fine with the video actually. It's nice. Don't like Billie Jean sample though and the overall mix it kinda took the energy out, I do like they removed Taryll's part since it slowed down the pace on the album.

True. DJ's on National radio in the UK were raving about that track as it was. WTF is going on apart from trying to appeal to those thick-eared fuckers who only know and care about Billie Jean?

Ugh.

Fuck SONY and the estate.

What about the hardcores? We're a bit more sophisticated than that.

On a side note, i've been to Tunisia this last week and was subjected to an MJ tribute in my hotel that was actually pretty good. Better at least than this new version of 'Hollywood Tonight' which i fear may get MJ up and out of his grave eating brains. I'd chant 'Michael! Michael!" if he did. Roll on 2012 so we're all out of here.
