Come on Patrick..I have voiced it here more (as opposed to you know where) b/c way too much immaturity over yonder. No one cares over there because they are not objective. I am considered a troll because I said the concert was not what I expected (something completely live)...It is obviously a very young audience there-either that or they don't know any different or just mediocrity is acceptable to them...

Not many mention it/care over here because it is a Prince board and quite frankly not many care about Janet.

I like her-I really do. I have seen LOTS of concerts in my life..All different music types......In the US, the Caribbean..I only never saw her before because I did not live in the US for many years.. Almost 2 decades....

I have never ever paid to see someone in Concert NOT singlive. I am not bit**ing about the money part..I am still glad I went. I got to see her. "Classics' are not always around forever-look at her brother. I may even go see her again if she ever tours again so she can prove me wrong and that she DOES or CAN sing to a live tour audience...

Now, on this board as you know, if P or any band member steps out of line, his real fans call him on it. Why should Janet be any different?

And to whomever posted the pics (I forget your name.) beautful..For sure. That I am not disputing.

I just wonder why you guys will not admit the fact she does not sing. I am not saying she is not ABLE to....She just did not on THIS PARTICULAR CONCERT THAT I SAW in AC.....THIS is why I keep asking other people who have seen different shows..

So please Patrick so far you have been civil to my differing opinion here, and have not joined to idiot bandwagon over there...so for that I thank you but don't try to shut me up about it...

***I still ask of you...You are a big fan...right? How can you accept anything LESS than a live performance? Please explain that to me...

I could care less about costume changes, etc. If she danced like crazy, sure I could maybe see SOME LIPPING( a couple songs))...I am 2 years younger than Janet...very active/fit..Sure I am not a singer...and yes it is quite hard I imagine to sing and cance like that...BUT she is not dancing the whole time...'like that'...

For me, It is almost like when you see a musician or singer/artist that you always wanted to see..(Janet was one of those) and you expected so much more live....live singing...Well that is what happened to me.. I got a huge suprise...I can only assume that people who are true fans like yourself maybe have come to accept this....

Have a great night!

So..it is not a case of me dropping it..

Vandeluca, I think you're having a hard time understanding that each show is lipped. lol Janet didn't specifically lip at just your show, she did the same at EACH stop.

You should understand that this is a musical tour. There’s a lot of time put into the show and everything is rehearsed from begin to end. In a way It’s like a stage play. Everything needs to be on point from the actors to the sets. They can’t just randomly choose a night where they want to change it up.

And you ask why does she lip? Janet isn’t much of a singer and her voice is almost inaudible. Case closed. If you’ve followed her career you should know by now that her style revolves around her performances and dancing, not her singing.

Well Ken there you have it. You are right I did not realize this was the norm. Truely I never had time to read up on her stage style and live/non-live. I have lots of her albums, (even tapes..lol) and CD's. Before the internet living 3rd World I did not even read up too much only the music..so yes I was surprised about it..I probably would have enjoyed it more had I realized what not to expect.

Thanks for the clarification...It IS the norm..That is all somoene had to say..however, there are those saying it is live...still...so I don't know about them..

I'll stop arguing w you patrick..lol

Here is something I am curious about too~~

I also had wanted to see Michael as well..Never did...

Was it customary for him to lip most of the concert as well when he performed? -Considering he was a heavy dancer as well..

It depended. His last ever world tour (the HIStory Tour) was heavily lipped (damn near 75%). His Dangerous Tour was lipped for certain songs and the Bad Tour was completely live aside from 2 songs that were half live (he would lipsynch one or two verses then do the rest live)

Everything else pre 1988 was live. I even did a chart of which songs would be lipped and which were live lol

I'm thinking with the time off during the tour, she'll be laying down some new tracks. She's already spoken about starting a new album later this year, and, with her massively successful tour and a #1 New York Times Bestseller, I think she should strike while the iron is hot. Knowing Janet, she probably has several songs already written and it's just a matter of laying them down in the studio.

I hope they are with jimmy and terry this time, though I like the songs from other producers too

Me too. That's the classic line-up right there. The three of them have made some magic together for sure.

lol like Trueiopian said, the whole show is LIPSYNCHED, besides the random shout outs .. Youtube all her performances of the slow songs, they all follow the SAME formula ..

I don't understand how some people (not towards you TotalAlisa, but in general) don't recognize a pre-recorded track when they hear it

Photos: It’s Janet — Miss Jackson, if you’re nasty — at Caesars Palace

By Don Chareunsy

Janet Jackson performs at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace during her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour on Friday, April 22, 2011.

Superstar Janet Jackson kicked off her weekend in Las Vegas last night with a sold-out performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It’s the first of three concerts in her celebrated Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour stop at the music venue that now houses Celine Dion, Sir Elton John and Rod Stewart.

Thanks to Las Vegas Sun photographer Justin M. Bowen for his photo gallery of Miss Jackson, who hit the stage in a very casual black tank top, a belt with a white skull buckle and blue jeans. Jackson’s ex, producer Jermaine Dupri, is a regular Las Vegas visitor spinning the wheels of steel as a DJ in nightclubs.

I may be late to the whole costume debate but has there been any word on WHY she changed her costume to the scaled down approach? I like looking at her any way so, it doesn't matter much to me. I'm just curious to her reason for making the change...

I thought it was smooth and sexy and went well with the song. That's making me want to pull out All For You and start jamming! It would be so awesome if she started doing more of the non-singles on her tours. Some of the non-singles are classics!

No, it's sloppy and no different from his past drag queen-ish choreography.
