No, the "fan" said The Beatles were witches and had to be stopped. Some believe that the attack caused George's cancer to get worse. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |

When Aretha departs whether it's a year or 40 years from now the response better be fit for a queen. That's all I'm gonna say. | |

We all know that Teena rules when it comes to slow jams! But I loved her twice as much when she was doing the funk/rock tracks.

I know one thing. If, in the wake of Teena's passing, Smokey fixes his mouth to speak about the "Motown family", I'm coming for his ASS! "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries." | |

Timmy84 said: On her 1984 album, Starchild, Teena paid tribute to her Motown colleague and one of her idols, Marvin Gaye on the fabulous song, "My Dear Mr. Gaye".
One of my faves. Still in shock over this. | |

Please let's leave all of that alone. Everyone is gonna leave this wicked Earth someday and we can only cherish what we are doing in our lives. Teena and others who have left us lived their lives to the fullest and they loved doing what they were doing one way or another, so let's stop please. Check me out and add me on:

Holy crap! This sucks. At least I have the memory of seeing her in concert a few years back, where I got to shake her hand as she was entering the arena.
We'll miss you greatly, Lady T.

I tell ya, I choked up listening to it just now. The lyrics are beautiful and her voice is exquisite.
TEENA MARIE DEJA VU LYRICS -
I'm young and I’m old, I'm rich and I'm poor, I feel like I've been on this earth many times before. Once I was a white gazelle, on horseback riding free, Searching in the darkness for a piece of me,
I can feel this for sure, I’ve been here before. I can feel this for sure for sure. I’ve been here before,
I used to be a queen you know, in a island by the sea, with rainbow colored people Happy as can be, Never had a problem, there never was a care & Love was ever flowing and its feeling shared
& I can feel this for sure…ooh I’ve been here before. I can feel this for sure For sure for sure For sure for sure. Oh I’ve been here before, yes I have I can feel it I can feel it…ooh In my heart I feel it.
The soul feels like the Universe, It’s vast and never ends, stars to me are the children, babies are my friends. God is like a galaxy, within my spirit flies, felt this way a million times, please don’t ask me why. The question of my lifetime If you ask my point of view, they say it all was Karma Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu
And I can feel this for sure, I’ve been here before. And I can feel…. this for sure I’ve been here before I’ve been here before I can feel it.
I'm young and I’m old, I'm rich and I'm poor, I feel like I've been on this earth many times before. Once I was a white gazelle, on horseback riding free. Searching in the darkness for a piece of me, I used to be a queen you know In a island by the sea, with rainbow colored people Happy as can be There never was a problem, there never was a care & Love was ever flowing and its feeling shared.
And I can feel this for sure For sure for sure For sure for sure I’ve been here before I swear It I can feel this for sure I’ve been here before.
If hate is on your mind & you can’t give love the time If anger if your friend don’t know when you die you’ll come back again. It's in the master's plan... You’ll come back woman or man If your life is full of sin... don't you know when you die you'll come back again! I thank God... thank God...thank God...I'm not coming back no more!! I've been here before... thank God…thank God...thank God! (I don't want to come back no more!) Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. | |

Well add Teena to the list of Motown legends who died before her time:
---- If I miss more let me know. Of that list, only two lived past aged 70 but 70 is still a young age to clock out IMHO. [Edited 12/26/10 19:08pm] [Edited 12/26/10 19:12pm] [Edited 12/26/10 19:18pm] [Edited 12/27/10 12:47pm] [Edited 12/27/10 12:52pm] | |

I just heard the news and burst into tears.
I was fortunate to see her many, many years ago. The second chance I had to see her the show as cancelled because Rick died. I always thought I would get another chance.
I'm still stunned.
