Because there was a rumor going around in London that he was a witch. Correct?

No, the "fan" said The Beatles were witches and had to be stopped. Some believe that the attack caused George's cancer to get worse.

This list is indeed scary--especially if you are not that far from 50=makes you re-think your own health agenda... I so hope and pray that Aretha will recover!

To be honest I'm actually surprised Aretha has lived that long, she must have a guardian angel because all her issues (chain smoking for years, alcoholism, weight ballooning) could've killed a lesser person. I think it's partially due to her being a God-fearing woman who survived a whole ordeal. Or maybe she's just lucky but I do hope she makes a recovery from this. I'm still hopeful but as this point I'm at peace with whatever God decides for Aretha.

When Aretha departs whether it's a year or 40 years from now the response better be fit for a queen. That's all I'm gonna say.

In terms of Motown legends, Teena died before Diana Ross AND Martha Reeves. This equal the sadness of Michael leaving before Smokey Robinson AND Stevie Wonder.

Yep and them both dying so young. I have to say Teena's death is probably all the most shocking for me because she was still touring and working on music. Hell, she was still putting out solid material during her later years. She made a gigantic comeback on the music world back in 2004 when she did the album La Dona and the bomb ever since that release was ticking off. She is definitely one of my musical heroes in the game. Producer, arranger, musician, songwritier...I mean she had the whole music world on lock because it was rare to see females back in the day doing that. Her move from Motown to Epic Records and the drama that surrounded it was just so powerful to me, as she fought for her artistic credibility and rights as an artist. WOW...she was just a marvel.

We all know that Teena rules when it comes to slow jams! nod But I loved her twice as much when she was doing the funk/rock tracks.

My favorite Teena song, cry

Mine too.

I tell ya, I choked up listening to it just now. The lyrics are beautiful and her voice is exquisite.

TEENA MARIE DEJA VU LYRICS -

I'm young and I’m old, I'm rich and I'm poor, I feel like I've been on this earth many times before. Once I was a white gazelle, on horseback riding free, Searching in the darkness for a piece of me,

I can feel this for sure, I’ve been here before. I can feel this for sure for sure. I’ve been here before,

I used to be a queen you know, in a island by the sea, with rainbow colored people Happy as can be, Never had a problem, there never was a care & Love was ever flowing and its feeling shared

& I can feel this for sure…ooh I’ve been here before. I can feel this for sure For sure for sure For sure for sure. Oh I’ve been here before, yes I have I can feel it I can feel it…ooh In my heart I feel it.

The soul feels like the Universe, It’s vast and never ends, stars to me are the children, babies are my friends. God is like a galaxy, within my spirit flies, felt this way a million times, please don’t ask me why. The question of my lifetime If you ask my point of view, they say it all was Karma Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu Call it Déjà vu

And I can feel this for sure, I’ve been here before. And I can feel…. this for sure I’ve been here before I’ve been here before I can feel it.

I'm young and I’m old, I'm rich and I'm poor, I feel like I've been on this earth many times before. Once I was a white gazelle, on horseback riding free. Searching in the darkness for a piece of me, I used to be a queen you know In a island by the sea, with rainbow colored people Happy as can be There never was a problem, there never was a care & Love was ever flowing and its feeling shared.

And I can feel this for sure For sure for sure For sure for sure I’ve been here before I swear It I can feel this for sure I’ve been here before.

If hate is on your mind & you can’t give love the time If anger if your friend don’t know when you die you’ll come back again. It's in the master's plan... You’ll come back woman or man If your life is full of sin... don't you know when you die you'll come back again! I thank God... thank God...thank God...I'm not coming back no more!! I've been here before... thank God…thank God...thank God! (I don't want to come back no more!)

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

The list of music legends dying out within 50-something is getting long:

Teena Marie

Michael Jackson

Barry White

Gerald LeVert

Rick James

Roger Troutman (murdered at age 47)

Luther Vandross

Teddy Pendergrass

Curtis Mayfield

George Harrison was 58, and was stabbed a year before that by a "fan".

John Lennon was only 40 when he got shot to death by (manchurian candidate?) Mark David Chapman.

Harvey Fuqua at age 80 hardly seems "before his time".

80 is still young to me.
