TMZ is saying she died in her sleep.

So sad, I'm really shocked, saw her at Indigo 2 in Feb this year, she was fantastic. Terrible news

She's recovering from pancreatic cancer.

I was just sitting here listening to the Quiet Storm on WHUR, and it didn't even hit me that they were playing so much of her. Cuz as we all know, that's never a good sign. I logged on just to see if it's true.

According to Sheila E.'s Twitter page, her daughter just had a birthday YESTERDAY, too!! Yeah, the one who found her. May God bless her and her family and friends. God, this is SO sad.

Apparently pancreatic cancer. She was released from the hospital earlier this month following surgery.

I looked up her Twitter account and it appears Teena authored a Tweet 11 hours ago. Very strange indeed. Then again, I guess I'm still in denial.

The irony is that Teddy was THE first recording artist to died in 2010 (if I'm not mistaken). So far, Teena is THE last recording artist to go in 2010.

You could still die even after your last tweet from the previous night. Some people post their last status on Facebook or Twitter on either the actual day they die or afterwards.

I'm right now shaking my head at the ignorance over at Twitter... reminded me of what happened when Teddy died and people were not knowing who he was. Shame these kids act dumb when some legend dies.

I'm thinking health issues that weren't brought up in the public. I didn't know Solomon Burke was ill but he died on the spot on an airplane in September. You realized how Aretha is basically trying to cover people from talking about her health.

In terms of Motown legends, Teena died before Diana Ross AND Martha Reeves. This equal the sadness of Michael leaving before Smokey Robinson AND Stevie Wonder.

They need to cut off 106 & Park and some of these kids are actually in our age group.
