i think she is the greatest performer ever. singer, dancer, actor unstoppable, she's slowed down a bit but she's untouchable. she's barely 5'3" but she fills up an arena with stage presence

on one of those mjfan forums there was a poll, which is better thriller or ghosts and ghosts WON, if i remember correctly *smacks self*

Ghosts was no better than Thriller, lol

In what way?

Your brain must be damaged by strange crack if you think that thriller is better than ghosts as a whole lol

if you dig the music of thriller and michael style of that time , its a matter of taste however , the short film of the ghosts from dancing , sounds effects, stroyline was so much better than thriller, There is no comparsion. lol

Thriller's despite its revolutionary affects on the music video medium was an abstract storyline comparing to ghosts, ghosts has so many different deep meanings, for me ghosts is the better short film...*hopes dearmother won't smach selfs again* lol

Thriller the album is obviously a far bit better Blood On The Dancefloor, but Ghosts is miles better than Thriller in my opinion. On music alone, they're close.. Thriller is more funky and Ghosts more post-New Jack, but the short film? Ghosts trumps Thriller.

man WTF

i dont understand, maybe if you're a 9 year old ghosts is better. sure the plot of ghosts is better i guess (?) but thrillers got artistic merit and it's great to look at. ghosts will not age well. in ten years people are not gonna be talking about it.

i'm probably not a good person to talk about his music vids. i think the minimovie idea could be good but he made it cheesy boxed i love all the 80s music videos more on the whole, they just seem way more out there. shit nowadays is so predictable. i don't like the idea of dragging celebrities into your videos either.

Prince probably is/was better than Michael when it came to musicianship, but Prince doesn't have that "it" that took Michael to a whole different level. Unfair? Maybe, but that's the way it is.

I think Prince is better than MJ and has that "it". I think if Prince hadn't been running around in his underwear talking about he knew a girl named Nikki who was a sex fiend, that probably would have made the difference in his career. Prince was not kid friendly or religious friendly and that narrowed his listening audience considerably. Look at how many children love MJ....because they can actually be allowed to listen to MJ. LOL lol

That's on Prince, Prince wanted to be who he wanted to be and that's cool. MJ wanted to appeal to the masses and he did.

Yes, I think MJ was the greatest entertainer in the last 50 years.
He had it all, the voice, the moves, the style, the music, the lyrics and the looks.

He could never top thriller and I don't think he tried to. Media always says that because they needed some kind of benchmark for him. How can you beat the best selling album of all time if it's your own?
MJ hardly bought out less stuff compared to other artists but his sales were amazing, despite the press crucifying him after his trials and tribulations. The music industry had changed so things can never stay "the same."

He also had a gift for bringing talented artists together for a good cause.

While there are many greats there can only be on King of an era. I believe it was him.

No doubt he was one of the greatest, quite possibly THE greatest ever. His singing, his dancing, his stage shows, his music, his videos. As an artist he was top notch in almost every way. Truly incredible. But was he THE greatest ever? Would love to know your thoughts..
[Edited 9/7/09 14:23pm]

So far, yes!

To this extent, Michael was (and currently is) bigger than Frank, Elvis, Fred, The Beatles, & James.

Please quote me.

1. Check my EDIT. I added Frank & Fred to my quotes.

2. MJ was definitely on his own planet. But he never had his own Kool-Aid flavor inspired by him.

The "Thriller" video is amazing and it was revolutionary for its time, but "Ghosts" takes it to a whole new level! It's a dark, intriguing film with a strong message too.The dancing is superb, too.I actually think MJ's acting is very good, too. He seems very relaxed and comfortable in this role.

Yep, I feel a stronger stage presence from her than I did from MJ, and I'm not the only one who feels that way. lol

As for videos, to me it's all about "Smooth Criminal"- the dancing in that is just unbelieveable. Next up would be "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Leave Me Alone". I like "Thriller", but I just can't get into "Ghosts" at all. Sorry.
