5. Miles Away
L: Oh. My. God. I LOVE this one. It's amaaaaazing. Power of Goodbye...
K: ...meets Nothing Fails meets Love Profusion. It's ethereal, whimsical, guitar-heavy, mid tempo...about not being able to express yourself when you're together. It's sad and sweet and lovely.
L: Absolutely genius. Got to be huge. It’s got the great hand-clapping bit in the middle but it’s not a stomper.
M: Sort of delicate... picks you up and wafts you away on a pillow of windswept tears. (laughter) ’Were always at our best when we’re miles away’.
L: So far away...
M: So far away...
L: Let’s cry now. You would not be able to not clap along to this in a concert. Unexpectedly warming…
M: …which is a very Madonna thing to do. It sounds resigned. It makes you want to have a boyfriend so you can reject him so you can sing this song. (Cackle).

Based on the clip that we heard,I know that this song will become a fan favorite.I absolutely love what I heard so far love It's a beautiful song.Very somber melody and heartbreaking lyrics. This is one of the Timbaland tracks, but it's pure Madonna....I don't hear much of a hip-hop influence at all. It's reminscent of her recent, acoustic guitar-driven midtempo songs ("Love Profusion" comes to mind),but I think it's superior to those songs. This has got to become a future single!!

Judge for yourself lol

***"CANDY SHOP" (Produced by Pharrell, this is the first song on the album. It's one of the first songs recorded for the project and it's also one of Maddy's favorite tracks on the album)

***"FOUR MINUTES" featuring Justin Timberlake (Produced by Timbaland, this is the first single, which is already Number 3 on the American Top 10 charts.)

***"GIVE IT TO ME" (Produced by Pharrell, this is a very poor quality,49-second clip. It's impossible to judge the song from this poor quality clip, but it appears to be a fast,electro-pop dance track. It's rumored to be the second single)

***"MILES AWAY" (Produced by Timbaland. You have to listen very closely to hear it.There's alot of Japanese talking going on while the song plays in the background)

***"THE BEAT GOES ON" (Produced by Pharrell. This is a DEMO VERSION that leaked last summer. It has been re-worked and the new version sounds completely different and also features a rap by Kanye West).

***HARD CANDY PREVIEW (a medley featuring four songs from the album)

I predict there will be four singles from this album. To make it fair, they will release two Timbaland tracks, and two Pharrel tracks. Here's my prediction on what the singles will be...

"4 Minutes" (a Timbaland production)
"Give It To Me" (a Pharrell production)
"Miles Away" (a Timbaland production)
"She's Not Me" (a Pharrell production)

New Video Makes Exclusive World Premiere on iTunes April 3rd Song to Be Featured in Warner Bros.-Village Roadshow Pictures Film ’Get Smart’ Single Exploding at Radio and Digital Sales International Response Huge

NEW YORK, NY, April 3, 2008- "4 Minutes", the pulsating and hypnotic debut single from Madonna’s 11th studio album for Warner Bros. Records "HARD CANDY" is off to a roaring start with explosive exposure in a wide range of mediums.

The breathtaking new video for "4 Minutes" featuring a propulsive performance by Madonna along with appearances by the song’s co-writers and co-producers Timbaland and Justin Timberlake will make its world premiere and be available for sale exclusively on iTunes for 48 hours beginning April 3rd. The video was filmed in London in February and directed by French wunderkinds, Jonas and Francois (Justice and Kanye West). The single, ’4 Minutes’ is currently #1 on iTunes.

The upcoming Warner Bros.-Village Roadshow Pictures action comedy "Get Smart," is on board to include ’4 Minutes’ in the film. In theatres nationwide on June 20th, "Get Smart" stars Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway as secrent CONTROL operatives Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 on a mission to thwart a plan for world domination by the evil crime syndicate KAOS. The film also stars Dwayne Johnson as superstar CONTROL Agent 23, Alan Arkin as the Chief, Terence Stamp as notorious KAOS king pin Siegfried and James Caan as the president of the United States.

On the international front, ’4 Minutes’ is already Top 3 across Europe in airplay and Top 10 around the world. Already playing in heavy rotation on radio stations across the US, the single in Canada is the fastest selling song in the history of the Canadian music charts. The song can also be heard as part of Sunsilk’s multi-million dollar ad campaign.

"Hard Candy" will have a global release on April 28th and a US release on April 29th and is a brilliant up-tempo collection of 12 songs in which Madonna remains ensconced in club mode but adds an urban hip hop beat. "4 Minutes" is Madonna’s 26th Top 40 chart hit in the US. Her previous album "Confessions On A Dance Floor" debuted at No. 1 in 30 countries and sold over 8 million copies.

Madonna, a multi-Grammy-award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, cultural icon, world renowned stage performer, video visionary, children’s book author, director and documentary film maker has sold 200 million albums in the course of her unprecedented two decade plus career and has just been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

When asked about the "4 Minute Fever Phenomenon," Madonna commented, "Goody goody gum drops."

Thanks to Yuri.

do you really think there will be a full 4 singles from this album? I'm guessing only 3, with maybe a 4th only sent to clubs with remixes, since it's her last WB album and there's a compilation on the way at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. plus that's probably where the supposedly "hot" outtakes from this project that we've heard about will show up, as singles from the GH.

While we're all waiting to see 4 minutes, the first video off "Hard Candy", that still has to premiere, Madonna is not wasting time.
Being quite happy with the results of her Elle amazing photoshoot by Tom Munro, the two of them have become quite good friends and Madonna has asked Tom to direct the video for the second single, Give It 2 Me.
There are reports they have actually started shooting the video in the UK, today!
And an additional unknown director will be needed to add graphics and other effects that will complete the video.
Cool!

You need to start saving for her next tour. She's pricey as hell but I think once you see her live you'll be hooked. Yes, she is not the best singer out there but she's never been about that. Her persona is what you go for, I think. She's able to pull you in even though it's in this huge arena. Plus, the shows are a spectacle. Kinda of like a big broadway show or as she refers to them as "an art installation." It's like this big event. The buzz in the arena to all the Madge shows I've been to is completely different than most concerts. Can't put my finger on it, but it's just a different vibe. I just know you'll love it. I also like the fact that most tour focus on the current album, so this upcoming tour will be "Hard Candy" heavy. But what does it for me is her energy. It's usually a two hour plus show and the girl works it. She won't let you down.

It's such a weird relationship that Madonna and I have lol I LOVE her. I do. But I think I probably own 2, maybe three albums. 2 of which are Ray of Light and Music. When I was younger I did have her stuff on cassette and I'm not sure why I never invested in CDs of hers because I have always loved her music. The shit she did in the 80s is just classic. But as the years went by and another album came out that I didn't get, investing in her catalogue seemed overwhelming so I never have.

Now I see friends of mine having hardcore religious relationships with her and I wonder what I have missed lol I have been so embroiled with PJ, Bjork and Me'Shell that the pop princess kinda fell to the wayside of my musical life. Interestingly enough, I am very fulfilled and satisfied just from the imagery taht comes from her art. The way she is always reinventing herself and such. I do follow her visually way more than I follow her music, which I think is kind of odd. I revere her career, the chances she's taken, her controlling her message and making it in a male dominated world. I think it's time that I invested in her catalogue. nod

But I will see her on the next tour. Never seen her live and that would be one thing I absolutely regretted if I didn't.

they both look very good in it. and the ideas in the video are
fine enough.

however, the execution of them and the editing are horrendous lol

the anatomy bits could have been featured more/differently. as
is, the video felt like it has a dozen themes and none of them
really come alive.

having said that, who cares about a theme when the guys have
madonna to look at and well, the guys have justin to look at
