The pics are cool but I have to ask this. Has Madonna had any plastic surgery in the last few years? She looks really different and the pics are making that question ring really loud in my head.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I ask in all seriousness:

Who's music is she ripping off on this album?
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

http://www.madonnatribe.c...ng_012.htm

thumbs up!

biggrin biggrin

Great commentary. You know my first reaction when I saw the "Hard Candy" album cover was that of indifference. I wasn't surprised or thought that she was getting too old for this. Madonna does seem to defy everything. And seriously the whole ageism and sexism is pathetic. Look at the Maxim list of unattractive women. When men age, they're graceful. When women age, they're has-beens. Double fucking standard. Now, living in L.A. I've met both men and women that look this good at 50. Sure, with the help of intense training and some cosmetic work but still...out here people don't look (or act) their age. But back in Texas, my parents, both in their mid-fifties, both look and act like they have one foot in the grave. That's the sad part. I think.

Why don't people embrace the fact that turning 50 doesn't mean a death sentence. After all, of us, if we're fortunate to live that long, will reach 50. I for one one to have Madonna's energy and look damn good too...

Plus, it's not like Madonna is acting like a 20 year old. She's still around, her career only seems to get bigger. She's a wife, a mother, a pop star...

On a side note: I dated a man that was 55 (I'm 32) and he looked amazing and his energy level was off the charts. We spent our weekends outdoors, hiking, kayaking plus he's the one that got me into boxing. And he's on the top five list of the best sex I've ever had. biggrin

I am sure there will be some good music on it. I can't even say I have heard the "official" version of the track but I think I have heard something close. Hopefully the single isn't an indicator. I am not feeling the song at all.

Me either. At least what little I heard of it. Love her recent output so much. at least with Dancefloor there was still some messaging going on but that song feels/sounds/looks like total pandering. Just worthless.

I don't think anyone's really. The sound she's getting is from those that are making it currently. Sure, it's doesn't really sound super fresh, but none of her music does. My only beef I have which is the same beef I had with the Duran Duran Disk was it sounds like the producers with the Artist/Band as an after thought.

4 minutes doesn't sound like a Madonna song. It sounds like a JT song with Madonna backing him up. That siad it doesn't sound like the song couldn't be a Madonna song, it just doesn't sound like it is.

Madonna..tick tock...

I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt with this single. I thought the singles "American Life" and "Hung Up," were worthless. I always skip them. Maybe she just sucks at picking first singles. My favorite track (at this point EVER) from Madonna is "Get Together" and it tanked on the charts. So who knows.

She's looking drop dead gorgeous on the video pictures!

Not counting the pulled "American Life" video (which happened exactly 5 years ago today, by the way), it might be her best video since the mid/late 90s! excited

The reasons of such actions are mainly because of the current negativity that some orgers maintain towards Madonna. I've always suported other divas like Janet, whose releases I buy (as some of you have seen on the several moments of photowhoring I have done here...still no PJ Harvey on my cd collection...).

It became painful admist all to defend the artist I most treasure since my childhood. Also I have a bit down and my will to participate in forums as decreased.

So I decided to enjoy my madgefanhood away from this forum. Alone. In the confort of soul. I will be here everyday. Reading and enjoying my lurker self-imposed ostracism

neutral You're like The only person who actually gives us News! Honestly, you are just discovering this now? The same has happened with the last album and the one before that. The top 3 er 4 (thanks to you) discussed atrist ad nausium are Janet, MJ, Madonna and Kylie. Don't take it too much to the heart. Some of these folks wait for the Madge Threads to go in and poop on the whole mess.

I just wish folks would figure out who they like and don't like and stop trying to trash other artists people actually like. And if you don't like said artist, give a REAL and CURRENT reason for discussion. Because if you're not listening to them and don't really care for the artist anyways, what good is it to trash someone that someone else likes.

This is the internet, not life.

So what are you really trying to say to Mike by saying that? It seems a bit condescending.

Maybe I am wrong but it seems the line is getting blurred between the internet and life (for better or worse). Many of us on the org and elsewhere on other fan forums enjoy viewing information and discussion about the artists we've grown to love over the years. It IS a part of our life and it is an outlet for us to come and participate in the fun of dishing about new music, new pictures, new tours, etc.

I have noticed though that there are people who, for some reason, feel the need to express their dislike for certain artists with more venom than I feel is necessary. Even those who don't use a lot of venom still baffle me when they feel the need give their two cents about how much they can't stand someone's new song or hate the way someone looks.

I am no saint, and I certainly have opinions about some artists that are less than positive but I have never felt the need to jump in one of those artist's threads just to let EVERYONE there know that I can't stand them, OR, that I used to like them but now they suck, OR whatever. What the hell do I or anyone else have to gain from doing that??? It would be like running up to someone who is enjoying their meatloaf dinner and saying "ya know what?-- I HATE meatloaf, meatloaf sucks!!! I used to like meatloaf but it I think it tastes like shit now". That may not be the best analogy lol but hopefully you get what I'm saying: negativity for negativity's sake just seems pointless and unnecessary (not to mention just plain mean and hurtful).

It has become a big downer when you have to weed through several people's hateful and immature comments just to find out what's up in madonna world (or janet world, or radiohead world or prince world for that matter). I used to be able to just let it slide and ignore the negativity but lately it just seems to have been kicked up a notch. Maybe this has been going on from day one and I am just now noticing it more, but with Mike's post and some others I have chatted with, I think I'm not the only one seeing the incline in all the negativity.

So, voicescarry, I guess Mike and I and others who feel the same about all this should just realize that the internet is not life and then we'll all be better off not trying to confuse the two. If this is not what you meant by your statement then please clarify so we can once again enjoy participation in showing love for one of our favorite artists- and one another.

"4 Minutes" doesn't indeed not sound like Madonna. It's the first song she didn't co-produced since I Want You from 1995, I believe!!
But the middle section ("Don't hesistate...") sounds like the typical Madonna sound for me. It's the same chord progessions like the Dress You Up chorus!!!
And the lyrics are hers.
Candy Shop doesn't sound like Madonna as well, It sounds like a typical modern R'n'B song i usually dislike and I'm sure i'm only give it a listen because it's Madonna.
Beside of that we only know a snippet of Miles Away. The verses sound EXACTLY like an old Gwen Stefani song (The Real Thing) but all in all it's pure Madonna.

The rest nobody knows and I'm sure it's a Madonna album throug and through. I mean, "Hey You"was produced by Pharell as well and doesn't sound like him. So other songs...

Anyway... as long as the songs make fun. And they make fun. You just shouldn't take too muchthought into it and not expect depp, meaningful lyrics.

This is gonna sound crazy,but....I'm one of those guys who thinks older women are sexy.I remember in the 80s when I was a teenager,I had a major crush on Joan Collins boxed At that time, she was proving that women over 50 could be sexy.I watched "Dynasty" just to see her, lol. Also, the older you get,the more wisdom you have.I find Madonna alot more interesting now than I did in the 80s.

Wow I can't believe what visuals can do for a song. I just listened to the song while looking at the pictures of the video and it instantly made me like it more. I'll probably love it when I see the actual video in motion which is a strange thing going from absolute disgust at the song.
