Because ehuffnsd is tired of people telling him/her to stay on topic and stop trying to derail this into becoming his/her psychoanalysis on how the media calling Britney Spears "out of shape" will have damaging psychological effects on teen-age girls.

Just a final note on this thread from me. Heres the deal, if Britney showed up no hair, jeans, and with a guitar YALL would have been trashing her for trying to be a singer or a musician, some people just like to trash someone because they are easy to trash. Which is fine, but dont make it seem like you really were expecting a big time show from Mrs. Spears because if you were, WOW, you got some issues. And if you thought she should have shown up "more professional" give me a break its the friggin MTV awards not an office. The point is everyone enjoys tearing down people or seeing people fail, and dont FRONT because we all do, and if we say we dont they we are BULLSHIT ARTISTS. Thats the society we live in, but remember if u think that a celebrity owes u something or has to act a certain way because they are a celebrity and have money, than you are crazier than Britney could ever be. Celebs dont give a crap about you, so when you here fake ass speeches from people like Jennifer Hudson and others telling you "i owe it you all" BULL! Deep down they know that they work hard and they could care less about you and what you do. Im not saying they hate their fans, but dont get into this world where you think they lose sleep over something they did and what you might think about it. So in the end its all meaningless, because Britney will go on and so will other artists that we want to crash and fail in our eyes because it will somehow make us feel better about ourselves.

Thanks, but it has to be said. People need to stop lying to this poor girl. She probably has it stuck in her head that she's just as good as when she first came out; but, she's no better than the outtakes of American Idol. She looked like a deer in the headlights and bored. She screwed herself with that performance because nobody dug it, not even her fans are giving it support and that's sad. If she's not willing to do the work, she needs to go the fuck home and stop embarrassing herself. That performance was a straight-up joke and I was embarrassed for her. I'm sorry, but I'm not one of her 'Yes' people and even if I was, I would have been fired for telling her how awful that crap was. Prince Rogers Nelson

The difference is that when she is on the heavier side she will wear somthing sexy that flatters her fuller figure! She knows how to work it! When she slims down a bit, she will then bust out those abs! That's the whole point of what most people here are saying! Britneys body has changed, but she's still trying to dress like she's 17. It's just doesn't work. Especially when her whole career is based on her body image! That's why people are so focused on it!

SexyBeautifulOne said: And the parents!! If they're letting their little girls get life lessons from that no panties wearing train wreck then someone calling her fat is going to be the least of their troubles!
Britney should be thanking all those naive parents for allowing her to sell sugar-coated sex imagery and lyrics to their children, since most of her fanbase in the beginning were kids under 15 years of age. Who else was going to buy these kids tickets and then drive them to the shows? I agree with you. Parents should have stopped letting their kids look at her after that Rolling Stone issue with her on the cover with the TellyTubby came out. The cover wasn't nearly as racy as the pics inside. I was like Okay, her parent's need to be slapped. I can't even dress like that in front of my parents now and I'm 26 years old. Letting your 17 year old daughter dress like a $20 hooker...oh yeah, that's going to do wonders for her career. Prince Rogers Nelson

She looked confused, like she didn't know what she was doing or where the hell she was at. No energy throughout the whole performance. She was dancing slower and out of sync with the dancers. Some people think I'm kinda cute

Later Im going to go listen to some CASSIE B-SIDES from the Vault [Edited 9/10/07 21:12pm] You said it yourself. Many of these people have worked hard to get to where they are, Britney included. But, when they start half-assing, I'm going to say something. I don't have the luxury of half-assing at my job. If I half-ass, somebody's beloved pet could die. I can't go into work in the morning and say, "Hey, I don't feel like monitoring anesthesia today...sorry Fluffy." So, if I can't half-ass at my job, I don't feel celebrities should half-ass at theirs. That was a half-assed performance, Period. It looked like she didn't care one bit about it, so if she doesn't care, why should anyone else care if she falls from grace? Let her fall. That performance looked like she just gave up anyway. She's made more money than most people, their children, and their children's children will make in a lifetime. She needs to stop for a while and enjoy it. Nobody is going to look at her as a quitter if she does, but if she just keeps doing this half-assed shit, she's really not helping herself or anybody else. I have no sympathy for her, because instead of putting in time doing rehearsals, she was out partying and it showed in that performance. It's like a college student who parties the entire night away and then fails the big exam the next day and flunks out of college. I don't feel sorry for them and I damn sure don't feel sorry for Britney. Everybody was rooting for her. She didn't have to come out in blue jeans, a T-shirt, wearing her short hair and playing guitar, but it would have been better than seeing her stumble around on the stage disillusioned, looking like a $30 hooker. I heard somewhere that she used to do 300 crunches a day...what happened to that hard-working girl? I'm sorry, but all this changing the subject to people calling her 'fat' and how it plays on society's standards for beauty bullshit. No, shows about plastic surgery, American's next top Model, and the Biggest Loser. These are things that play on society's obsession with being perfect, but nobody is perfect, no matter how much make-up, money, fame, material possessions, or perfect body one may possess. Nobody is perfect because perfection does not exist. If all the fans of these celebrities stopped supporting them tomorrow, they would lose record deals and movie contracts, because record and movie companies aren't going to pay an actor or musician that nobody is interested in. Then, they would be right back in normalville with the rest of us. They need us more than we need them. Don't bite the hands that feed you and that's what fans do for these celebrities. But, what does it matter, right. Now that reality TV is on every channel, everyone will be famous soon anyway. So, cheers Prince Rogers Nelson
