talking about Britney's weight and it effects on girls not ok.

talking about how Beyonce wishes she was born Latina is ok.

the difference is?!?

The difference is the Beyonce thread was about her comments saying she "wishes she was born Latina." That was the focus.

This thread is about Britney Spears' performance -- it's NOT about some obscure psychoanalysis of the media calling her "out of shape" and how young girls are going to be confused to the point where they are going to suffer from bulimia (which is the crap you're introducing in an attempt to derail the thread).

What part of that you seem to have problems understanding, I don't know. That, and your unwillingness to create a thread to address a totally unrelated tangent to the thread at hand is the problem I have.

No i understand, the performance sucked and no one debated that, but when the thread was starting the focus was never on what she did or even talked about the song, it talked about her outfit and her look. I mean thats just the way it is, and im not even a Britney fan but crap comments like that just have to be addressed. So if someone posts about Rihanna's performance and says 'God she sucks, her forehead is like some sort of creature from Star Trek' no one is going to say HEY thats not an issue what about the song? But lets be real music is almost never discussed with anyone it seems. Janet Jackson we talk about how much weight she lost, a Mariah thread gets posted about music and someone posts BOGUS photos of her with a distorted stomach, thats acceptable. I suggest this thread be closed since it could have been limited to one post that said the performance sucked and so did everyone else on the show.

1) so if you want these threads moved why have you never reported them to the site moderators?

2) every time this subject has come up within the appropriate forum (ie...site discussion) the consensus from "the community" is that if its a topic of discussion pertaining to a legitimate musical artist the thread stays..

but i appreciate your frankness and your appreciation for june7. and next time you have issue with a thread you feel is in the wrong forum use the nifty "report to moderator" option. works like a charm! thumbs up!

I understand what you are saying, but my issue is with you and others lumping fat and elephant comments with comments about her not being fit enoug,h to wear nothing but a bra and panties. Show me where anyone said that Britney should not have PERFORMED simply because she didn't have abs of steel. The overwhelming majority of the comments in this thread have been about Britney not having the type of body that can pull off wearing nothing more than a bra and panties. There are a host of other sexy outfits that she could have worn that would have been more flattering to her new figure. I don't see why that is so hard to understand.

eek lol Look at what Britney Spears has done to her poor fans. They are all heartbroken trying to defend this girl and she's probably at the bar right now getting smashed and not giving two shits about any of these people. It's extremely sad to be that obsessed with another human being. Okay, even I know that she just did some mini tours a couple months ago, so it hasn't been years since she last performed, but it has been years since she had a good performance, so I guess that's what he is saying; but, she's been on a stage in the last couple months prior to the VMAs. Lastly, the divorce, kids, custody battle, her aunt dying, other drama...she's not the only person on the planet that has had to go through hard times. Man, I love Prince, but I'm nowhere near this crazy. There's a fine line between being a fan and being a fanatic (he/she obviously crossed that line a long time ago). There's an even finer line between being a fanatic and stalker. Run Britney, RUN!

heres the deal and why you want this thread locked...you can't let it go. if you don't like the direction of folks comments then stop posting within this thread...i do that sh*t all the time...in fact, the last time i did it was a thread that you were involved in...we can't win every single thread debate expecially when there really isn't a debate to begin with...folks here are sharing their opinions on britney's disasterous performance and you, rodya24 and a couple others want to turn the discussion into judging folks for their opinions and then claim a holier than though societial outlook..

well ya know what? good grief!!! its silly...cause in the end, if folks think britney was a train wreck and they want to comment on it here then let them...no dissertation from you is going to change their opinion...

its a tough lesson...one we all must realize...sometimes its best to just leave a thread and move on.

move on...before more eyerolling and condescending snarky mod statements are made. lol
