Thank you!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Moderator | Do you all remember the interview Prince did when he said as a kid he used to go and buy all the latest James Brown 45s as they came out? And how he'd ride home on his bike spinning the record around his handle bar?
There's an element to that with kid. simtheury, you made my day! There better be an extended joint on the single! I GET this tour now. The return and education of musicianship to today's music world. teach it, teacher, teach it! ok, enough of that over zealous fannatic mumbo jumbo... All Rights Reserved. |

Yuck. Should be an outtake.
I can't believe this is the same man who recorded Computer Blue. The kid was a good actor, though. No hard feelings.

Did anyone else notice that the kid at the start of the video gets a free SINGLE for buying a concert ticket????
I think we know what is coming... I am now hoping for a sample of the other songs or an un-released track? Who cares, a free single will still rock... How about this: 1. Musicology (edit) 2. Musicology (extended) This song could go for hours! It is a great groove! I would love to hear it make the turn like the Mountains extended... Anyway - Thanks for that link. Any reason it showed up here first and right at noon? Planned link-leak?

The kid was a good actor, though. is sure ISN'T computer blue - but it's alright . . it's Prince and really, that's enough! the old man in the wrekka stow is reading something that says "what the world needs now is love" at the bottom of the page. music is its own reward - Sting

I never thought this day would come, but... I'm seriously considering not buying the new Prince album!
The groove is interesting and the whole thing is indeed kinda fun, but the lyrics and not to mention those embarrassing crowd noises are just terrible. The track certainly isn't going anywhere as a composition. Now that would be just perfectly fine had this been a b-side or a NPGMC download, but a single release with a professional video? You guys had me expecting for another "Get Wild". This isn't even the next "Silicon"! Bummer. And I do mean it. Bummer.

A bummer, indeed. Very disappointing. Shit, he could've released Sex Me, Sex Me Not or Northside instead of this drivel. There's just nothing there.

Right on, Novabreaker. The downloads were ten times better than this crap.

Awesome:) thank u!! Leona

i think we will still get the full album - the video was just trying to keep real to the times of Prince's childhood. the boy only gave the clerk like a dollar for the ticket AND the 45 - music is its own reward - Sting

Moderator | Let's talk about this "Old School Joint for the True Funk SOUL-diers"
The funk elements are there, yeah. But lyrically, this song really does put your heart back into musicianship. I'm loving it. I would hope that a single will come out with a much more extended version where the musicianship is showcased more. Visually, the video is way cool with the depiction of the child riding his bike with the ace of spades in the spokes going to the old "mom and pop" record store, where you see the hand-drawn sign that says you get a free 45 with every concert ticket. The old man behind the counter... Ah... the good 'ol days... Flash-forward. The kid playing the 45 back again learning the song on his guitar. You see a picture of Jimi taped to the inside of his record player. Singing into the neck of the vacuume cleaner.. Right on! Forward to the show. You see some "thug dressed" kids outside trying to get in. Not a chance. Remember when you dressed up to go out? ("2 the 9's" ask your grandmother what that meant) The guys in the sharp suits are let in without question. The father, busting in the kid's bed-room reclaiming his LPs. Good one. Then taking him to the concert, putting him on his shoulders to see prince. Got me all misty. I will definitely be involved with my son when it comes to his knowledge of music. Notice all the old school posters in the kids bed room. Great visual. Too bad most kids of this generation wouldn't even recognize one of them. But that's part of the message, right? Then the funk hits! The song shifts gear and has you on you feet. The old school tap-dancing was hot. One question though. What's up with the guards in the riot gear? And just when you are ready to "keep the party moving", it's over. I don't think so. Prince, this better be "part 1". Fun groove, but I felt only "teased." Good song. Good video. Great message... Take your pick: Turn-table or a band? All Rights Reserved. |

i still don't like the song. It's bland IMO. Nice vid though. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."
