Game Boys Groove
The Insatiable Suite (3 parts version for a abandonned Maxi single release)
Call The Law alternate version

I've wanted that forever. Only ever seen snippet of the alternate version at the end of Arsenio and briefly on the D&P home video collection.

If they're moving forward with combining D&P and Love Symbol that's a monumentally fucking stupid decision and I was so happy the previous administrations combined release was cancelled but it appears it's back on the table which is just... disheartening.

Combining these two into one SDE is not only disrespectful to the concepts of both records, but it also means less material from either in order to accomodate both. Just ridiculous.

Yes seperate releases but on the same day would be best,

But I gotta disagree, to me these 2 albums do go together extremely well

.....

  • They are the only 2 Albums to feature the Original full NPG line up (sans Rosie on Symbol)
  • The Symbol album was promoted on the D&P tour
  • Songs from Symbol were played on the D&P tour (Damn U, Sexy MF, The Flow)
  • They were released in sucession 1 year apart

The only downside I can see would be if that there was indeed less material because of the combination, although that may also be another reason for the combination as Michael Bland stated that there was not masses of unrleased stuff from that particular era to the best of his knowledge as we all know some tracks are all Prince e.g. Thunder etc

.....

Release just the main albums on vinyl and all the extra's on CD only and they can put as much as they like on to the set

....just my 2 cents

[Edited 3/7/23 8:13am]

[Edited 3/7/23 8:45am]

I agree with BigJaffras.....he has so much material that it may be a good idea to cover two albums withing the same era. These two seem like a natural pairing as they, like said above, have the same band mainly...the same sound... I love them both. The focus was on the live powerful sound. I hope they, in addition to vault material, give us some fantastic live stuff...that Live at the BBC set from 1993 seems like it requries a release...the energy level was insane.

I would say pairing The Black Album and Lovesexy would be another great pairing. They could tell the story he did back then, good/evil....the focus there could be the Lovesexy tour.

No pairings. These albums are separate projects. Rosie gaines wasnt even in the symbol album so its not like its the same lineup.

I will buy them seprately..no issue. I'm just saying, they have to consider speeding up the releases to get through his massive body of work. I don't think every single album requires a SDE treatment....but a great many do.

I'd prefer seperate releases, but would be happy if they were released at the same time

it was almost identical line up

She's not on the released album version. I've read she's on fire on the Glam Slam 92 live version though

.

She's also on the early version of The Flow, which would be cool to get

I'm getting doubtful a sde is going to be released.

I thought a more concrete leak would have happened by now.

I'm still somewhat confident we'll get an SDE, but I wouldn't be shocked it we don't. The Estate might worry that putting out two SDEs simultarnously (or combined as some rumors suggest) would make the price cost prohibitive for many fans.

Any of you think there's a good chance that the diamonds and pearls video collection along with the 3 chains o' gold movie will be apart of the deluxe edition?

oh wait I see what nayroo2002 means now.

the Cream NPG Mix is called simply that on the official release we have had since 1991.

but on this 4LP set it's labeled as "Cream NPG Mix #1" which is indeed a good hint that
there might also be a Cream NPG Mix #2 and #3 etc somehow connected to this set.

good catch nayroo2002! cool

As "Electric Intercourse (Studio Version)" was released, I had this reaction (why "Studio Version" was indicated) as The Estate was aware that this song was known and bootlegged but in live version.

Another catch: "Eggplant (Original Prince Vocal)" to differentiate it from Wendy's version.

As Ramzoo mentioned, I've always understood the "studio version" as a way to tell the fans: "We know you have the live version. Here's the studio version. You don't have that one. Be excited."

.

It would be strange to have a "Cream NPG Mix #1" without a "Cream NPG Mix #2" anywhere (on bootlegs or on a SDE).

On another hand, even looking at released versions only, we have 3 versions of "Cream (N.P.G. Mix)":

- 4:50 (without any segue, released on "Ultimate")

- 5:44 (including segue #2 at the end, released on the maxi-single)

- 6:16 (including the 3 segues at the end, released on the Diamonds And Pearls single)

I guess the part excluding the segues is the same on the 3 versions, but, still, that could be a (disappointing) explanation for the "#1" part in the title.

This and a lot more of known and unknown outtakes were described and samples were aired to some by the 'usual suspect' in 2021 and then after the unofficial cancelation rumor of D&P SDE he stopped and last year June/July he started again with more material.

Wasn't interested in the D&P Super Deluxe as rumoured on here last year. and even less interested in these Vinyl remasters.

Haven't listened to D&P in years. Never liked it then, and as it was Prince going all modern and commerical (at the time) I bet it sounds very dated now.

Symbol was a little better, but still had shockers like My Name Is Prince, and 7. At least Love U 2 The 9's and The Sacrifice of Victor had some of the old magic.
