My post was wrong too, I clean forgot the cassette version. Been in touch with Jeff Gold who did the art direction for the Diamonds & Pearls album. He said, “it was cost that prevented us from using the hologram on the album cover, period. The CD was very expensive to do, and the album would have been prohibitive.” Furthermore, I also got in touch with Crown Roll Leaf, whose Holografx division produced the embossed hologram on the CD, cassette and display stand. They got back to me to say, “We still have the masters for this hologram, so we can reproduce this image if needed...I am not sure who owns the rights to this hologram. The owner [would have to] authorize the use of this image, if we are to re-create it.” Sounds like they’ve not been approached, so if an SDE does out come this year, I’m not expecting the hologram on the cover. There may or may not be something coming!

Jeff replied, “I showed him a cover I did for Suzanne Vega, Days of Open Hand, which was a limited edition, and he loved it and asked if he could have a hologram. I said maybe, and that turned into a yes!” There may or may not be something coming!

Cool in a way. Means the original release still has value. But the sde would have its own design anyway like the others did..

Yes for SOTT, but 1999 was the original artwork albeit enhanced with foil (and silver background on the slipcase) The Orger formally known as JAYJOE

Maybe they will use the full color image that is circulating of the Blue release, but in mettalic foil I think that would look neat The Orger formally known as JAYJOE

I don't care if it comes in a brown paper bag, I just want that Glam Slam dvd/ SDE.

I don't think it's limited at all. In fact I think the hologram was the only version available in certain territories at one point.

Jeff was very kind and generous with his responses to me. He seems obviously proud of his work with Prince and looks back on that time with fondness. Just thinking of this, Surely early April would be more fitting time and respect wise? . Looking back Welcome to America was announced April 8th and released July 30th so we could be looking at an announcement of the SDE imminently
Add the fact they have somewhat been leaked visually (remastered and deluxe on Ebay) . Are there any other posthumus releases that were announcent on April 21st?
