can't wait for people's reactions when they realize the reason there's a million covers in the live set is that they're all about 5 seconds long and prince isn't even really singing most of the time.

i understand why they threw in the live gig, but this truly is a nadir of his live career in terms of recorded listening experiences, in my opinion. at the time, for those at the gig, i'm sure it was great... but it doesn't make for a fantastic experience afterward.

My guess regarding the choice of the show is that Shelby J had a saying in this (apparently she is going to be on the CBS special with Morris) and this show seems to feature her quite a lot. Just guessing though.

It's bizarre they left out the DMSR/Pop Life/Musicology, Cream/Cool/Let's Work/U Got The Look and Inf I Was Your Girlfriend/Insatiable/Nothing Compares 2 u/Adore medleys, along with other more interesting choices (Laydown, Dreamer/Welcome 2 America, for example).
