How many people on the org missed out on owning copies of the 1999 SDE or SOTT SDE because they didn't preorder?

I missed out on 1999 SDE but I didn't expect a popular 80s album like 1999 would be sold out for what feels like an indefinite period.

I'd rather "complain" about music I have than music I don't. I think having a complete blank side of a pressed album is a legitimate gripe though. *shrugs*

It's like the old days when you dubbed up a cassette and still had extra room on that sucker. I'd always throw a b-side, a related song I liked or something on it to take up that blank space. I didn't by 45's back in the day with nothing on the bside. This is sort of like publishing a book and making the back side of every page blank or having the last 1/4 of the book be empty pages.

I don't know why so many people here think everyone is complaining; beyond the pricing options and how they're packaging this thing I mean (having to spend so much more just to get the concert). I'm not really seeing it. Most folks seem pretty jazzed about W2A.

I want the Blu-ray so bad but i can't speen a hundred dollars right now, i wish there was a cd-bluray version cheaper.

this really should've been slated for a june release. july is too far away, not to mention it's pretty much August it's so far into July.

it worked ok for SOTT SDE cause it was so big and there was so much to work with, but i'm skeptical that they can convincingly pull off a three month promotional cycle for a 1 disc album, keeping people's attention, etc. especially with diamonds and pearls later this year, it would make far more sense for this to be out in june.

assuming d&p is still coming, that would mean... let's say it comes out in december that's a 1 to 1 and a half month break in between W2A and diamonds and pearls announcement, or will they shorten the promo cycle to less than 3 months? scrap D&P in its entirety? move it to Q1 2022? interesting questions. i believe it's coming this year.

I too was angry.

The SD package here in Belgium is priced 213 € (191 £), CD alone 17 € (15 £).

Finally I found on Amazon France an SD package for 139 € (124 £).

A day later on the same site it was suddenly 79 € (70 £) for the SD, so I decided to buy it.

I'm willing to pay that.

Even for all the extra 16-yo-fans-idolation-shit I really don't need.

A blu-ray of this kind (i'm not talking about commercial movies of series) will always have a higher price.

Don't expect a Bly-ray special price, yet.

Certainly when you know the history of post-Prince releases since 5 years.

This album will grow on me I now believe after hearing the new samples ("Check The Record", "Born 2 Die") but like someone else said July 30th? What the hell are they thinking? I pre-ordered it after initially intending to pass.

when i saw the release date I was disapointed too. I was expecting it to be out in june. Maybe they are going to try and push it due to the subject matter of some of the songs. spend some money promoting it and releasing more singles. Just like back in the day! (ok maybe Im dreaming)

Thanks for the info. I saved a portion of my tax refund for whatever Prince project comes out this year because they have all been very expensive. Now that I know it's going to be some Prince from his later years, I can go ahead and spend my money on something else that I will actually like instead of this bullshit that I won't like.
