Parade SDE or Diamonds and Pearls SDE? Which do you want first?

I’m curious which of these everyone would rather have first. Ideally I’d like to have both, one at the beginning of 2021 and one at the end. But I know that probably won’t happen. So which one would you want released first?

Parade.

I feel like Diamonds and Pearls and the Symbol album are very much just part 1 and 2 of the same era. The sessions in the studio for the two are the same, right?

Man I love the Symbol album. I think it’s superior to D&P. Just my opinion. I do love D&P though and think I’d like that one first with all the promo mixes and b-sides remastered!

Without ANY doubt....Parade!
I wish to have in pristine quality : Go, Heaven, Old Friends 4 Sale...
For the live CD: birthday gig (full) or Paris concert (my first one).
It would B great 2 have soon the official announcement (March 31st 4 the 35th anniversary of the album release ?).

Exactly I don’t see why they can’t do 2 a year. 35th Anniversary for Parade in March and 30th Anniversary of D&P in October!

Parade is my favorite Prince album, so that one.

That said, if part of Diamonds and Pearls was a Tony-free version, I'd be all about it.

I like Parade, but it‘s not one of my favourite 80s Prince albums. I‘d love to hear the unreleased stuff from that era in good quality, but I can wait one more year or two. My vote goes to Diamonds & Pearls, hoping especially for great live (video) stuff (D&P tour was my first time seeing him live after waiting for two years). I‘m very fond of the years 1991-1995 in Princes career.

Please stop with the Tony bashing. Tony was part of the band and part of the whole D&P experience. It was the early 90’s and that’s where music was at that point!

Yeah I don't have any problem with Tony M at all. I just wish his lyrics would have been a bit better. Who wrote them? Did Tony write them or did Prince write them for him? Not that Prince had the most amazing and deep lyrics on that album either so I guess even if Tony wrote them himself we can't blame him as he obviously had to dumb shit down a bit so as not to upstage Prince in his lyrical musings - which were not that great on this album to start with biggrin

Well, "Parade", definitely. Mainly for all the Vault stuff. Man, I can't believe that there may be a day in my future where I'll have SDEs of "1999" through "Lovesexy". (Maybe even "Batman"!) That would be a dream come true.

An SDE of "Pearls" is very very low on my want list. If we're dipping a toe into the 90s stuff, I'd rather have "The Gold Experience" be the first one out of the gate.

Like I said I want both. SOTT SDE had me wanting Parade SDE. The vault tracks from the Parade era are very interesting and I feel compliment SOTT.

DNP....I love Parade but would be nice to switch it up and release something a bit further down the line BUT come back to Parade after. I also cast a vote for Graffiti Bridge if they released the different renditions of We Can Funk, Can't Stop the Feeling I Got, My Summertime Thang, etc etc.
