Now THAT is something I would like to see. The 3121 album feels a bit incomplete to me without the movie to accompany that project, especially because it says "the music" on the album, so there should also be "the movie".

Actually don't think I'd bother buying a SDE of D&P. Not an album of his that I really care for, and the thought of extra Tony M... No thanks.

4. there isn't so much unreleased music to search for and to assemble

5. probably the original tapes and such are better maintained than Prince's

3. remastering their music seems easier to do than Prince's

I would take anything too. The thing is, with the bad economic conjuncture, plus the various shutdown s and curfews due to the Covid, if the estate see the bad vibes here concerning the D&P project, they may as well decide to go full streaming for this release. . If WB chose D&P over Parade this year, it s for obvious legal reasons. They can wait for Parade, but it s their last year to re release D&P, before it falls in another legal imbroglio. . Criticizing a project we don't know anything about ( number of CD's, tracklist, price, etc.) Is nothing more but trolling. Which is too common here. . I think the great advantage of D&P, is to have a chance of having a HD concert release, for once, instead of a VHS quality of a Parade tour.

That would be something I´m really looking forward to.....a professionally shot concert of a D&P show. Sure, there´s lots of other things I´d appreciate to be released but there are some great D&P shows that I´ve only heard as audience recording quality bootlegs or recorded with a shaky camera, and I think that the D&P show is very underrated these days.

What´s with the legal reasons to release a D&P SDE earlier than Parade? I´m a layman in this regard and both albums were released when he was still under a contract with WB, so what´s the difference? You seem to know the details.

Yes, that's why a Dirty Mind SDE ( for instance) would be more affordable than a Parade or D& P release. Personally, I think D&P is far better than Parade. When you pick a Parade'song separately, you can hear this is no more than average material. The B-sides of Parade's era are terrible, so I can't imagine what the unreleased material worth.

I can't imagine there being any more box sets the size of SOTT. I was lucky that a friend who got the LP gave me their download code. Otherwise, I would have just stuck to listening to it on Spotify (first Prince album I haven't bought a physical copy of - other than digital-only releases of course).

Although having just said that, I'm sure a SDE of Purple Rain is not that far away.

...If everyone in the US are capable of taming that roaring pandemic.

And it still not reached its peak yet. Numbers are still rising over there.

And don't yet count too much on the vaccine.

Most peope will need two or more vaccines, and that takes a lot of time to get at least 70% of the populations immunity level.

Production and distribution companies suffer from that right now, and jobs will get lost.

And as careful as The Estate is, they prefer not to shit their pants with a quick new release.

At least, that's my guess.
