guys. "comprehensive and unexpected" coming from this estate could mean anything, i'm not expecting the product to live up to those lofty adjectives, but i hope to be proven wrong.

Valid point.

I would go for an unreleased video compilation...

With the 2nd coming film and the 3121 film...and clips of songs of the Mayte era.

Although I am a fan of the Originals compilation, I wish they would release the fuller versions of the protege albums with Prince's vocals. Might just be the completest in me, as all the songs would eventually be released on the Originals sets, but still think that would be nice to have.

I want a live concert DVD box set with shows from all eras. Especially, to include Montreax 2009 show 2.

Black album and Lovesexy deluxe would be high up on my wishlist

Around The World In A Day deluxe

I'm still hoping for a standalone release of The Truth.

Totally agree. A double vinyl release would be amazing! The sound of those tracks spread across two albums is top of my list. They could almost promote it as a 'lost' album.

The Family album needs to be re-released with maybe a bonus disc of Prince versions. The album should get attention as it stands and not be picked apart, as it truly is one of his most essential, if not THE most essential protege album in his canon.

Why is it anymore essential than any other? Especially the Time records?

Agree...it's a good album, but "What Time is it?" is truly essential. Jill Jones, Madhouse are also in the essential category IMO

Sorry, but a live concert box with shows from all eras won't do for me. Each era derserves its own bos set. To stay with your example, the year 2009:

* Of course we would need not only one, but all of the Montreux shows.

* 2009 also saw the 3 shows in 1 night release festivities for Lotusflow3r, which should be included,

* as well as at least one of the shows Prince gave in Paris in Le Grand Palais.

* And as a bonus I sure would love to see one or two of the private performances in the 3121 House thrown in.

* Not yet included: the TV performances.

If Bob Dylan gets box sets like "The 1966 Live Recordings" with 36 CDs, why can't Prince?

What I really would love to see released next:

A set called "The Early Years", starting with the Grand Central years and then comprising the early solo demos leading up to For You, not neglecting sessions like the jazzy stuff that leaked a few years ago with Bobby Z and Andre Cymone. I can't get enough of that early stuff. Neurotic Lover's Bedroom blew my mind...

Not that they ever would release a song like this, unfortunately. confused

Ugh, sounds dullsville.

I'd quite like it if they acknowledged that he had a career post-1989 for the next release.

It's time to release the Piano & Mic live album which he'd supposedly compiled before his passing. It's his final work and deserves to be heard.

As Howe said, such particular release would be "comprehensive", there's really not that much, that is plausible (at least at this moment in time). As I wondered above, perhaps a comprehensive video collection, or a complete collection of everything ever recorded by Madhouse.

Then imo the Lovesexy/Black Album box set just became a probable next release. Or perhaps an expanded Emancipation?

I disagree - esp. if such a collection included unreleased videos.

Why? Well, it has the original version of Nothing Compares 2 U on it for starters, which is a more important track in his canon of work than anything on a Time record.

And it's also by far the strongest protege record from start to finish. A masterpiece of a record which deserves more exposure imho.

I could see "Parade" with a silver foil cover still keeping the monochrome look. Kind of a shame to change the original cover as it may be the best album cover he ever did.

Maybe the big project the Estate is working on right now has something to link with Netflix documentaries to come in 2022?

this is actually at the top of my list too. A box set of the 21 night aftershows along with footage from a few of the main shows would be incredible.

Random speculation here: what is the "profound", "complete", "amazing" project is a complete box of the Piano and Microphone 2016 shows? I think they'd certainly meet the "profound" and "amazing" descriptors, and there have been rumors that some Piano and a Microphone 2016 release might be in the cards for 2021.

It is a bit of a fan favorite - it finished 4th among the protege albums in the album poll I ran in 2018, behind the first two Time albums and Jill Jones. I personally don't find The Family as is all that captivating, but I would love to get versions with Prince's vocals - "Mutiny" and "Desire" with Prince vocals are fairly glorious.

That was a weird result indeed - the V6 album didn't even finish among the top 10 protege albums!
