Anyone here wanting a 20ten re-issue some time down the line?
It never saw a release in the USA and I remember hearing about the 20ten remix album.I wonder if it was ever finished?
I happen to like the Extended version of "Lay Down "

There apparently is another version of the album. Whether that includes more songs with extended versions as well. Only the key holder to the vault knows.

This release should be done only by pre-order through the Prince official web site. (make an extra 10,000 copies.) And when it sells out-that's it. That should be the model for less popular albums. Don't release sales figure numbers or let them chart as not to devalue the Prince marketing for bigger projects.

That is an awful idea. Shipping costs a ridiculous amount and it takes ages to get anywhere. I doubt I'd buy anything if the Prince store was the only option.

RIP sad

I am with you on that. The Prince store is often slow with their orders

I really hope they will include the longer alternate version of Insatiable if there's a D&P super deluxe. It's definitely the best version imo.

They could do an Amazon or Prince site option. This pre-order is done for albums that wont chart well.

Diamonds and Pearls Deluxe - probably a no 'thank you' for lots of Prince fans. And the threat of such a box containing two discs worth of edits and mixes: a definite NO for me.

How about a profound, complete & unexpected collection of all the songs he recorded in the year prior to his death?

Now THAT is something worth getting excited for.

An album like D&P really doesn't deserve the SDE treatment. Reissue the album, by all means, but these elaborate SDE releases should be confined to the classic albums, plus maybe The Gold Experience at most.

I may be wrong but isn't diamonds and pearls one of prince's best selling albums? It certainly sold more than gold experience and had more hits

You are not wrong. D&P is one of the albums the average public would have aside from PR or 1999 and possibly Batman.

Gold Experience would be a project specifically for the hardcores.

But the SDE releases are for the hardcores, not the general public. And most of the hardcores rate D&P lowly.

Not sure if there is any correlation here but the Prince Instagram page specifically mentioned The Flesh sessions in its latest post. It could be just coincidental of course but if they were to release a box set of The Flesh sessions, as it was already mentioned earlier in here, it would absolutely be both profound and unexpected.

Sure, the SDEs are geared toward hardcores. But the SDE events are also packaged as just remastered albums which are by no means geared toward them.

So, over at Steve Hoffman forum there's talk of rumours (talk of rumours? Ha!) that Parade Deluxe will be pushed to 2022, and that Diamonds & Pearls Deluxe will come next... as well as a Welcome 2 America live set from Warners and an Apple exclusive release of First Avenue '83....

Let the rumour mill burst into flame with activity.....

Ain't nobody checking for a D&P deluxe....

Srsly.

They should have released Crystal Ball by December.
With the covid, I won't holdny breath on something to be released next year at all.

I dont see how Covid has to do with anything, except perhaps affordability for those out of work.

Well, ya know there's the deaths. All the manufaturaries when production has and will stop. Lots of parts to consider that COVID has an effect on.

I reckon there are plenty of hardcores like myself who got into Prince through the 90s albums like D&P and can’t wait for the SD treatment (podcasts and all).

I'd like to hear Prince's version of Get It Up, Oh Baby and Girl. Always thought Prince should have saved these tracks for himself.
