LEAKED: "Neurotic Lover's Baby's Bedroom"

Freaky. 1977. Drum machine. Some Bootsy vibes in the vocal styling.

"Take off your clothes, I wanna show you a trick...."

and talk of sex in the lotus position.

This is NOTHING like I would have expected from 1977 Prince. Dying to know what people think. “Ever try the lotus position while being strangled?” omg

I read in another thread this and a number of other songs had leaked out to a few to be shared.

As usual of late I can't find it.

WOW. It's really something. WAY more daring and expiremental than anything that came out on FOR YOU or PRINCE. It's sort of foreshadows the sexually daring stuff he was doing on CONTROVERSY and 1999. The guitar solo SCORCHES too.

Listening now.

Freaky is a fitting description, plus I agree with Bootsy vocal comments.

No way this could have gone on For You.

Would the estate include this on any release given it's mention of erotic asphyxiation .

Another great leak from the Vault.

In some ways it's better than anything that was on FOR YOU. That's the hilarity of it. VERY expiremental and daring for its time. Very funny too. Really shows Prince's sense of humor.

Man, the Vault...

It's so exciting to think of the treasures that are in there...

From prince vault, historic - is believed to be the first time Prince had recorded using a drum machine, therefore. The track remains unreleased.

all i know is one day he's complaining about some people who did not share the song(s), even at the behest of a bandmember, and the next day it's out. i am left to assume his public shaming caused the leakage.

or it could be one big coincidence.

Here it is:

Honestly - the insular, elitist nature of much of the Prince fan community has never failed to amaze me since becoming a fan in the 80s. Imagine any other musical artist community where fans take a perverse pride in secrecy. Bruce/NIN/Beatles - all make Prince fans look like Gollum with their precious. Prince cultivated this attitude, of course, but he’s dead - and I doubt he’d care about preserving the Estate’s future cash cows for the sake of 5000 or so hardcore fans that are left wanting to hear a concert recording. Which they will buy anyway when officially released.

Saying ‘these recording are easily available’ but ‘don’t ask me where’ (and I guess that also means by org note as that’s been ignored) is absurd cloak and dagger clandestine behaviour. I get you can’t say where in public on the org, but a private communication? Prince ain’t monitoring this anymore and the chance that I’m a Web Sheriff hired by the Estate is nonexistent. I guess the buzz now, in lieu of ‘new’ releases, is not from listening to the music, but from the possession.

He’s gone. It should all be shared amongst the tiny few who appreciate it. If I ever got a hold of the harddrive at Iron Mountain, you’d all be listening to Neurotic Lover’s Baby’s Bedroom within minutes. The Estate deserves none of the financial rewards of Prince’s endeavour. He deliberately didn’t make a Will. He likely wanted fate to decide what happened to it all. I personally think he should have had a legal agreement drawn up to release everything in the Vault online upon his death so no-one profited from his work.

It’s nice to hear this for the sake of it but I don’t really like it. This tracks name has always stood out to me after scanning though princevault for years. It can’t shine a light on other unreleased songs from the 70s like Donna and Baby, Baby, Baby. I hope we get to hear more for you and self titled tracks soon

And how beautiful is this? We’re all vibing off this song. It’s wonderful, it’s why we loved this guy in the first place - he brought us weirdos together. He was one of us - only exceptionally talented. And through that talent, we all found each other. That same person once said ‘Release it’. Release it all. Bring A little joy into this cold, cold world.

Ha ha. Exactly. I was a white pre teen weirdo in rural Maine in 1983 when I stumbled upon Prince. LOVED HIS WEIRDNESS!!!
