This episode contains snippets of Dorothy Parker with Horns, the original Big Tall Wall, Eggplant and Blanch. The episode mainly consists of an interview with Susannah Melvoin, but also includes clips from Susan Rogers, Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss.

Horrible, this makes it sound as if that Wendy and Lisa album was actually made by Prince, or at least by Susannah. Horrible.

Wow! That original Big Tall Wall!! What a track. Feels very very close to what I would've imagined hearing on Dream Factory as a follow up to Parade. I'm so surprised at how different it is from the version we are used to (which I adore).

Thanks for posting, stoked to hear part 2. And for the love if all that us decent, let's hope the dingbats from the Part 1 thread don't ruin this thread complaining about Wendy and Lisa the whole time

I can't tell who is worse. The people bring up W&L criticism or the people actually just expressing their opinion. The last thread had a snipe at people right in the very first post.

Maybe if y'all would let people have their own opinions and chill the hell out, these threads would not devolve. If you don't like someone's opinion, move on and don't take every opportunity to argue. Who cares what some babbling fool says one way or another. There's so many opportunities to talk about the music that I can't honestly believe anyone's first reaction is to think, hey I should take a shit on some of the fans by calling them out in my first post on a thread that has tons of new never before heard music in it.

The people thinking that this is W&L with questionable motives are entirely the issue and I just made a quick note hoping the thread doesn't include such baseless mindsets. I will comment on the actual music once I have the time to listen to this podcast and hear the clips of course

I think it's building nicely as a series. It's perfectly normal for the people who worked on songs to talk about their contribution. This episode and the last. I do not feel that any of their comments detract from the work being Prince's.

80% of Eric's sessions yet to be released. These are good and exciting comments.

I wish they had put some cut of Dream Factory the song on the set since they reference it so much and it is played multiple times in these episodes so far.

Haven't watched it. Did they talk about what Prince was doing (musically) as well. His creative process that they witnessed. Not only Susan can provide that.

Andrea Swensson is really lovely. She mentioned on twitter last week that she gets very self-conscious speaking on these podcasts, so I'm sure she'll apriciate your feedback. If you want to leave her a message her twitter username is @SlingshotAnnie.

So Blanche seems to have been inspired by Streetcar Named Desire? Interesting. It seems like a cool song. I love hearing the stories from the former associates. It’s weird hearing Big Tall Wall with all of that instrumentation. I think I like the sparser version better. I love Andrea but is Big Tall Wall really “challenging to listen to?” I don’t take it as him being like Buffalo Bill in Silence Of The Lambs or something. More of a playful song about him wanting her all for himself.

Although a small snippet "Eggplant" still appears to have Wendy on lead vocal!, so I wonder what it means by "Original Prince Vocal" as in different to the circulating version?

he might have better luck if he was drummin with his Dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
