why do certain peopple always cry "troll" or "negative", or other juvenile complaints just because someone doesnt like what they like?... then when someone responds to those type of silly replies, they get banned or threatened for "derailing" threads... thats so childish to not realize that different people from different cultures, like and dislike different things...grow up Chill out.I am grown and there's no problem in having differences and your own tastes. But I just felt I had to make my point. This song is really great though, maybe it will "Grow" on you [Edited 8/6/20 13:46pm]

I love it! What a ethereal song; and that outro shreds. I agree that it's the Camille voice but he was already recording in falsetto, so it's even more potent than say, Housquake. What good vibes Prince has produced for me today!

Oh my. OH MY! This song captures a sense of triumphant glee like few others in his catalog. It is so thrillingly thrilling! It’s technicolor, kaleidoscopic euphoria! In a year with so much tragedy, fear, and confusion, being transported on this magical ride for 5 minutes and 39 seconds feels like a true gift. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Love the guitar, not so big on how fast his voice is sped up. It seems a lot faster than the other Camille tracks. That being said, I'm glad to finally have the whole song. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Some of the tracks people love from this era like “In a Large Room With No Light”, “Rebirth of the Flesh”, and “All My Dreams” don’t do a whole lot for me, but they clearly mean a ton to a lot of Prince fans, so I am very happy they will be released. I just want to be the first one to point out the fact that the guitar solo at 4:53 through 5:05 is the same idea from near the end of the guitar solo on Crucial... (well near the end on the ‘98 edit)

My sentiments also. I love SOTT and Camille but can't take this serious with these vocals. It's like Chipmunks The Pilot.

My partner, who prides himself on having a high threshold for different types of music, just stopped what he was doing to ask if I would please turn that shit off, because it was the worst thing he ever heard Luckily, Who cares what anyone else thinks, i really like Cosmic Day!

I might be alone on this but it doesn't sound like Camille to me, it sounds like a demo tracking for a song he intended to give a female artist who sounded like Debbie Gibson. Might have wrked for Jill's album.

I am also not sure about it being a Camille track. I also think that the notion of a sped-up-vocals in a track by default making it a "Camille" track is a very simplistic way of looking at it. I think the Camille persona was a much more complex concept with a variety of outcomes – it was more of an attitude and his way of creatively totally abandoning his musical past of Prince & The Revolution in order to reinvent himself musically. Tracks like Dream Factory, Love or Money, Erotic City (all pre Camille) are definetly not Camille tracks. Scarlet Pussy was listed as a Camille track but was recorded with slowed-down vocals. So while most Camille tracks are with of course the sped-vocals it ain't the rule.
Cosmic Day is a killer track. I also thought for a moment it potentially being a demo track for a female artist; Madonna? Dale Bozzio? But then I am not sure – guide vocal demos are very different imo – in the sense that it often misses the passion Prince usually puts in his vocal delivery. Cosmic Day sounds very passionate to me, ecstatic in fact, a sense of urgency! the guitar is mind blowing.
I'm now even more curious about the Clare Fisher version. According to Prince Vault the Cross The Line section in Intermission is accompanied by the Clare Fisher orchestration that was orginally intended for Cosmic Day. Would've made it an entirely different track I believe, although for me it is hard to hear the similarity in the melody.
I also feel somehow the track is a step into the sound of Lovesexy. Had to think of some tracks from that period Elephants & Flowers, Love 89, I Wish U Heaven, Cool Love, The Voice Inside and God Is Alive.
