Last I heard most of the decisions are in the hands of Comerica Bank & Trust... which is a big corporation.

Paul from SDE writes in the comments to https://www.superdeluxeed...-in-japan/ :

.

SDE will be the first to bring you news of whatever is happening next!

.

in reply to someone asking about SOTT SD.

.

While this is still vague, I don't think Paul would just randomly posted such a comment, so this suggests that an announcement is coming soon-ish.

Maybe in the US. In Australia, there was extremely limited (and delayed) supply. I think they got 80 copies in country-wide.

Amazon.com.au (Amazon Australia) STILL has copies of both the Supe Deluxe CD and Vinyl.

Happy to be corrected! I haven't looked for a few months - they must have gotten a new shipment in, which is great!

At the time of release, there was a country-wide delay of 3 weeks or more, and practically everyone who wanted a copy couldn't find one. I called every single record store in the Sydney area a week before the release and could not track down a copy from anyone. Only those who had pre-ordered in September could get a copy, and it was my mistake not going that route, having wanted to pick up a copy on the day rather than wait the 3-7 days from November 29th that stores I had called had said it would take.

Do you think that record label people have a good 'feeling' of what is going on? Of the `zeitgeist`?

Can they look into the future and see some better time coming up?

I doubt all that.

I think it will be more likely to include the deleted tracks from Crystal Ball in the "Vault" discs, unless they want to include Camillie and move Feel U Up (Long Stroke/UK 12" B-Side), Rebirth Of The Flesh and Good Love (Soundtrack Ver.) there despite the obvious repeats (including the If I Was Your Girlfriend "no intro" edit).

Just order from the US Amazon site like I did. I had it just a couple days after US purchasers did - because I waited and held out hope it would be stocked in Sydney.

So to continue the game of telephone...

This will have 3 discs of vault tracks. One of the tracks will be a (previously unknown) demo version of I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man from 1979. Then the rest of the vault tracks will be from 85/86

Like always take it with a grain of salt. Haha lol lol lol

Regarding the first incarnation of ICNTTPOYM:

From Prince Vault:

“Basic tracking took place in Spring-Summer 1982 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, along with several other tracks that would re-appear over the next several years.”

Why are you saying it was written in 1979??

Prince Vault did not know the Studio Version of "Electric Intercourse" that was on PR:D existed...

And in 2016 Dez sold a tape with a 1978 version of "Sometimes it Snows in April" (a few weeks before) and it is still not listed on PrinceVault

as cool as that 1979 demo would be to hear, it really has no place on a SOTT deluxe... stick to recordings of the actual era.

Why the fuck would a demo of a song on SOTT not belong on the (Super) Deluxe edition of that album?

Because it was recorded well before literally everything else on the album was even concieved? If I'm listening to vault discs of a SOTT deluxe, I want recordings from 1986 and 1987. A demo with literally zero SOTT-era involvement other than the song eventually reworked shouldn't have its home on a SOTT set.

I totaly disagree... if it exists and is in releaseable quality it would be a tragic event to not have it on this set...

Fair enough. if that's what the people want. another part of me says that it's probably not as interesting as other things from the proper sott era that are probably not going to make the set anyway, but of course i haven't heard it and it may be the greatest thing ever recorded. maybe i'll be proven wrong.

I can see both sides of it, but I'd like to see it there as well, since it's a key SOTT track. It could very well just be an acoustic demo like I Feel For You.

I doubt there will ever be a GB deluxe... not on these kinds of scales... maybe a remaster with a disk of the singles. But I doubt we will get more that 3 more of these.

but it brings up my question: what will it mean of this set has songs from the Parade Sessions?

there is no reason to name call. It was a single from this album if it exists and sounds good and it would fit in fine. I will back off a bit that its omission would be a tragic omission as there ought to well over 210-240 mins of music to fill 3 cds...without this....

and many of us run into the same issue that because we've been naughty we've heard much of them...
