And some have said they want "Camille" and "Dream Factory" and
"Crystal Ball" but what is left unreleased (including substantially different versions) is there even 1 CD's worth?

Why the fuck would a demo of a song on SOTT not belong on the (Super) Deluxe edition of that album?

Because it was recorded well before literally everything else on the album was even concieved? If I'm listening to vault discs of a SOTT deluxe, I want recordings from 1986 and 1987. A demo with literally zero SOTT-era involvement other than the song eventually reworked shouldn't have its home on a SOTT set.

.

Dude, ICNTTPOYM dates to 1982 itself. Most likely a significant part of that song was first recorded long before.

.

Sheesh, it isn't "the 1986/87 box set", it is centered around SOTT.

I was speaking specifically about songs that were sequenced on those three albums not the other songs from that time.

The amount of songs backs up what I said about not taking up space with "starfish and coffee" just because it doesn't have the bell at the begining. Or "if I Was Your Girlfriend" (but "strange relationship" and ICNTTPOYM are different enough to consider.

Because 'they' (`the Estate`) thus far chose to release stuff album by album instead of year by year it would be to be expected that they release a demo of song X on album Y even if the recording time of song X predates album Y by a long time.

In the Prince way of things songs could be a few years old before they were released, if at all.

Maybe in the US. In Australia, there was extremely limited (and delayed) supply. I think they got 80 copies in country-wide.

Amazon.com.au (Amazon Australia) STILL has copies of both the Supe Deluxe CD and Vinyl.

Happy to be corrected! I haven't looked for a few months - they must have gotten a new shipment in, which is great!

At the time of release, there was a country-wide delay of 3 weeks or more, and practically everyone who wanted a copy couldn't find one. I called every single record store in the Sydney area a week before the release and could not track down a copy from anyone. Only those who had pre-ordered in September could get a copy, and it was my mistake not going that route, having wanted to pick up a copy on the day rather than wait the 3-7 days from November 29th that stores I had called had said it would take.

I pre-ordered and my delivery date was pushed back a month or so, I cancelled order and ordered through a different supplier (which was cheaper and a faster eta) after it was already released. When all is said and done I think I got it in my hands about 2 months after official release. I couldn't find and physical stores that stocked it. From memory JB HiFi didn't even sell it online.

Here are the possible 1986-1987 SIGN O THE TIMES Era songs that could be on the DELUXE version, excluding songs for other artists/sideprojects...

What am I missing?

...

Outakes and Assorted Stuff from Dream Factory, Camille, and Crystal Ball:

A Place In Heaven

Adonis & Bathsheba

Crystal Ball

Last Heart

Witness 4 The Prosecution

Movie Star

All In My Dreams

And That Says What?

Baby Doll House

The Ball

Good Love

Shockadelica

Joy In Repetition ('86)

Rebirth Of The Flesh

Big Tall Wall

Blanche

Boy U Bad

Coco Boys

Conversation Piece

Cosmic Day

Crucial

Duet w/ Dad

Eggplant

Emotional Pump

Euphoria Highway

Everybody Want What They Don't Got

Everything But U

Frustration

Funny Love

Groove In C Minir

Groove In G Flat Minor

In A Large Room With No Light

Interlude - Wendy

It Aint't Over Till The Fat Lady Sings

It's A Wonderful Day

Junk Music

Make Your Mama Happy

Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A

When The Dawn Of The Morning Comes

We Can Funk ('86)

Wally

Walkin' In Glory

Visions

Susannah's Blues

Soulpychodelicide

Slow Groove In G Major

Sexual Suicide

Rescue Me

Pony Ride

Power Fantastic

What Did I Do?

La La La He He He

My Tree

March 24 '87 Instrumental

I guess that's pretty much, what we can expect.

So "Shockadelica" & "La, la, la..." will be on B-Sides.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Outtakes-CDs would focus on The Flesh.

I know, parts of it were used in Under The Cherry Moon.

But - though it’s not mentioned on Princevault - I think The Flesh might have been intended to be a part of Dream Factory & Crystal Ball at some point (Susannah's DF cover art + Irukanji's Crystal Ball, which is from an original tape as far as I understand).

So IF we get a Flesh CD, it would be

- Junk Music

- Up From Below

- Y'all Want Some More?

and maybe

- Groove In C Minor

- Groove In G Flat Minor

- Slow Groove In G Major

from the same sessions.

So 2 CDs might be filled with other studio material.

Already in circulation:

A Place In Heaven

Adonis & Bathsheba

Crystal Ball

Last Heart

Witness 4 The Prosecution

Movie Star

All In My Dreams

The Ball

Good Love

Joy In Repetition ('86)

Rebirth Of The Flesh

Big Tall Wall

Coco Boys

Conversation Piece

Cosmic Day

Crucial

Eggplant

Emotional Pump

Everybody Want What They Don't Got

In A Large Room With No Light

Interlude - Wendy

It Ain't Over Till The Fat Lady Sings

It's A Wonderful Day

Make Your Mama Happy

Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A

We Can Funk ('86)

Wally

Sexual Suicide

Power Fantastic

Visions

New to most of us:

And That Says What?

Baby Doll House

Blanche

Boy U Bad

Duet w/ Dad

Euphoria Highway

Everything But U

Frustration

Funny Love

Pony Ride

Rescue Me

Susannah's Blues

Soulpychodelicide ´86

Walkin' In Glory

What Did I Do?

When The Dawn Of The Morning Comes

Sadly they only filled each CD on the previous releases with max. 60 Minutes of music.

So, I hope I'm wrong with my The Flesh speculation (although I really those sessions!)

I really try hard not to expect too much.

The "problem" shows something of the cognitive capability of the people complaining and says nothing of the releases themselves which have been and will continue to be obvious and intuitive.

No...

It shows a difference between the ordering of tracks expected and the ordering of the tracks found on the releases.

It is not simply an AlbumX Super Deluxe and all of the related tracks, irrespective of age.

It is apparently an AlbumX Super Deluxe and some not so related (to AlbumX) tracks but of the similar timeframe as AlbumX.

This creates confusion.

.

OTOH:

If we can expect tracks of the timeframe, too, what non-SOTT tracks can we expect for SOTT Super Deluxe?

It was made very clear with the first SE release that the goal is to release era specific music. It's not hard to understand.

Again, the antecedent for confusion lies somewhere deep in the heart of the confused. In other words, why the fuck are you confused and what has caused you to become this way?

I'd say an '82 version of RB belongs on 1999 SD. Just like a '79 version of ICNTPOYM belongs on a Dirty Mind SD.

And, as I and others have previously stated, the versions we have of Can't Stop, Bold Generation, and We Can Fuck belong where they are, and not on some hypothetical Graffiti Bridge SD.
