I am listing now...good stuff. But I do wonder why they just have the song titles and not the album names or any other info. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I unironically think “Oh Sheila” is a good song.

That live version of “Beautiful Strange” was face melting also, I didn’t know this wasn’t his first radio show (aside from the NPG Ahdio Shows).

How many unreleased songs, live or otherwise, were included in the 3121 Radio broadcast? Sounds like I need to hear that version of 'Beautiful Strange'.

That, Tamar’s Can’t Keep Living Alone, and audio from the Tamar show at The Orpheum in Minneapolis, including Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, What Have You Done For Me Lately, Partyman, It’s Alright, and Play That Funky Music. I love the other music selections a lot too, especially Les McCann’s “Sometimes I Cry” and Bjork. I wanna hear the rest of those radio broadcast shows he did previously.

Here are a few quick notes I took from the 3121 radio show demo. There were more segues between songs. I only noted a few. Notes were taken in real-time from my first listen, so please pardon any errors: DJ Rashida Intro *3121 Rashida takes phone call with Katt Williams (as the character "Ezekiel Leviticus Washinton", her roommate) *Housequake (7 Minutes MoQuake)(?) in the background. *Dream Factory (Not Just) Knee Deep by Funkadelic *Can't Keep Living Alone by Támar Davis I Can't Stand the Rain by Graham Central Station Come To Me by Björk Ezekiel calls in to request Black Sweat *Black Sweat Baby Love by Mother's Finest In Time by Sly & The Family Stone Fame by David Bowie Rashida recites lyrics to the Prince and Mayté song "2020" replacing "the year is 2020" with "the year is 3121" Mix by Rashida (Non-Prince mix of modern hip-hop/soul instrumentals.) Metrópole by Cesar Camargo Mariano la Banda by The Spanish Harlem Orchestra Prepara by Fania All Stars Hey Baby (New Rising Sun) by Jimi Hendrix *Beautiful Strange (Live) - Recorded live at the 3121 residence. More of a blues/rock vibe than the album version. Nice gtr solo! Ezekiel calls to find out where to get Beautiful Strange Help Me by Joni Mitchell *Star 69 by Common (Prince plays synths on the song). Just a snippet is played. More goofy Katt Williams dialogue. Getting old lol. *The Dance (3121 version) Only so Much Oil in the Ground by Tower of Power Chocolate City by Parliament (with hard to follow Rashida monologue about seeing Oprah in the White House with Prince, Dave Chapelle, and Puffy) Rock the Boat by Aaliyah *Funny commercial by Prince and Rashida about their product "True Knowledge" Interview with Sanaa Hamri (Black Sweat video director) *Rock Steady (Live) by Tamár & Prince *Don't Stop Til You Get Enough (Live) by Tamár & Prince Prince says "You can't get the brother without the sister..." proceeds to play *What Have You Done For Me Lately/Partyman/It's Alright (Live) by Tamár & Prince *Play That Funky Music (White Boy) (Live) by Tamár & Prince Come Live With Me Angel by Marvin Gaye No More by J*Davey Honey Molasses by Jill Scott *Satisfied ©

Another question. Are we able to listen to that program on demand? How are people going back to listen after the original airing?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I listened on my phone. Now would be the perfect time. Just keep hitting "Back one hour" until you get to 6pm central/7pm eastern. Right now you could go back to 6:03pm Central

Beautiful Strange plays right at the top of the second hour. (It was 7 pm CDT - to interpolate from that.) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

If you want to hear prince showcase his guitar skills I always say this was the tour to see/hear. He kicked ass, especially on red headed stepchild. i'm listening to Rock Steady right now & yes his rythym guitar is on point.
