Jay-Z "Caught Their Eye" Lyrics

From Jay-Z's new album 4:44 on the song titled "Caught Their Eyes" with Frank Ocean.....

I sat down with Prince, eye to eye
He told me his wishes before he died
Now, Londell McMillan, he must be color blind
They only see green from them purple eyes
They eyes hide, they eyes high
My eyes wide shut to all the lies
These industry niggas, they always been fishy
But ain't no Biggie, no lazy eye, huh
This guy had 'Slave' on his face
You think he wanted the masters with his masters?
You greedy bastards sold tickets to walk through his house
I'm surprised you ain't auction off the casket

As much as I find Jay-Z to be a corporate tool who makes garbage with his annoying product wife, i think he's right on the nose with this one.

I'd say he's half on the nose. Londell is a creep, but the Family needs to make money to keep things going. So, I don't think they should be faulted.

We should all be aware that Jay Z is mad about not getting to do what he wanted with P's catalog.

--All he wanted to do is be the admin for the catalog with what was suppose to be a proposal for 40 million. He was not making a bid for the master tapes they are not for sale. After all the things we have learned about Lonnie people are still defending him? Prince had a contract with Tidal not Londell.

Prince changed his mind more than his underwear. Even if Jay Z did sit down and discuss something with him, he could've left the building, got a coffee and already had a change of heart twice before he got back home. Song lyrics aren't a binding contract. What a knucklehead.

Londell is clearly a crook who screwed up the deal and still wants his fee.

Jay-Z however, gave Prince exactly what he wanted at Tidal and Prince was clearly happy. Without Tidal Prince's last two albums, plus other exclusive material would never have been released.

Some fans simply have a bias against Jay-Z that Prince didn't share.

I hope Tidal win in court and secure the album Prince promised them.

I hope so as well. The music should stay on the site until the contract runs out. A whole album should go out to Tidal if it is stated in the contract. It would be money coming into the estate and the only reason Londell caused this lawsuit is because he was not getting a commission from any dealings with Tidal and supsect Tidal did not want to work with his at all.

Now Londell is claiming on his twitter that the voided deal with Universal is a plot by Warner Bros to 'own' Prince. Pathetic. He's just trying to cover his own accountability with conspiracy theories he thinks will fool the fans. And all this b.s about an 'Emancipation 2'? More cryptic crap.

We know song lyrics are not a contract but an actual contract does exisist. If you think Prince sent music to Tidal without getting any money who is the knucklehead. It is not about anyone changing their mind since Prince sent them music a week before he died. Do you think he is changed his mind from the grave?

Tidal is saying they sent 3 million dollars to Prince with the last payment being sent last November. The idiot attorney involved did not do any due dilliengence to find the money and just wanted to break the contract that exisited rather then just letting the contract go on until the end date.

He is a moron and he should have his license to practice law revoked. He has caused two lawsuits with another that could occur.

See links below.

https://www.ft.com/content/7fedb77c-0e9b-11e5-8aca-00144feabdc0

He lost this case and see what the judge had to say about him. He lives in La La land.

Mr McMillan had argued that he had no obligation to repay, claiming it was in fact a loan to the firm, not to him personally. He also claimed it was part of a programme whose terms were negotiated with the firm, not the individual partners. Giving his ruling in favour of Barclays, Mr Justice Popplewell found that Mr McMillan was “unwilling to accept what was plain on the face of the documents and seemed to me to have convinced himself of a version of events which was inconsistent with the contemporaneous record”. Mr McMillan was “not a naive or vulnerable consumer” in signing the loan documents, he concluded.

or this nonsense. He went out and contacted UMG despite Dr. Funkenberry saying Prince did not like the way UMG administered his music and did not resign with them. Now he is saying that UMG and WB are up to no good. A pattern of twisting things and being in a state of denial.

Yes! This is what the WB & UMG issue is mostly about, in my view. NOT about who said what... It's about , his music & his wishes...

The Family should definately be faulted. Who has stood up for Prince's vision and the integrity of his music business? They need a savy leader who loved Prince and can think long term. Stop trying to exploit the hits for quick cash.

You are correct. We have court docs that state what is going on and people do not read because they hate Jay-Z so much when that has nothing to do with this case at all.

The Tidal case has a court date and is moving forward. If no contractual agreement exsist the case would not be moving forward with a trial date set. Tidal has some sort of signed agreement and it is possible that Prince had equity in Tidal which makes it even more bizzare that estate managers and fans have a problem with ownership. Or is it a problem when black people have ownership because if Jay Z or Prince were Mark Zukerberg I bet no one would have a problem.

This has always happend to blacks in the entertaiment industry who try to actually own the vehicle and not just be the entertainer. Maybe some people are too young to remember the hate Oprah use to get but now Oprah owns a network which many people predicted would fail. It is sad too me that in this day and age there are people that cannot stand to see other people acheive.

No, he is mad because the contract was breached and the estate may own him an album or some portion of the payments made to Prince need to be returned.

All he proposed was admin the catalogue and it appears he may have made a larger offer than UMG.

My problem with Tidal is that I don't want to sign up to pay fees in order to by Prince's music.
With all the money Prince had, it made absolutely no sense that he could not get someone competent to run a Prince site where we could by the music.

.

And yeah I know the fiasco with LotusFlow3r.com etc but this is not hard business in this day in age.
.
I would not sign up with Tidal pay a fee just to get Prince's music.

WB does not own the master tape so what are you talking about? I suspect that many things are going on behind closed doors that we do not know about. It would not surprise me if a certain rat was trying to get the family to sell the master tapes. If the tapes were sold to UMG that would have no reason to want to rescind this deal thus making another commission payment for a certain greedy attorney.

No. Hit n Run Phase 1 was exclusively released to Tidal and physically released in association with them.

There are also many exclusive tracks Prince provided to Tidal, one of which was just days before his passing.
