Jay Z is a known liar and famous for embellishing things in his rap songs. He is a poser and is only using the Prince connection for PR. I don't know why you all give this guy the benefit of the doubt. He wasn't even close with Prince.

You have no idea how close they were and contracts are about a mutual exchange. Without an exchange there is no contract. Do you honestly think this case is moving forward for no reason whatsoever? It is not about your personal feelings about JayZ it is about what can be proved in court. If they paid Prince money and are still owed content Tidal has a right to get it.

The way he/TIDAL acted right after Prince died shows that he obviously does not respect Prince and it IS worth mentioning that Jay Z embellishing things in his rap songs and often lies. Why is that not worth mentioning? I am not sure why you have so much trust in a man that cannot be trusted. Nothing has been proven in court yet so its interesting you are siding with him.

--It is not about siding it is about legalities. Do you really think that Prince gave Tidal music files and received no payment? Why did Prince say he wanted to put the last concert on Tidal and sent content the last week he was alive if he revived no money. Do you realize a big chunk of his catalogue we would not even have access to if it were not on Tidal. Do you not know what equity is? Do you realize the difference between and charity/non-profit and a business. Oh a people have been embellioning things in music since the blues. What is your point?

If JAY was as smart as he thinks he should have known business, sitting down and talking to Prince is not a legal binding of any sort if they have something in writing other than the initial agreement to release work digitally then bring it out. Truth is I don't really trust any at this point because the music is not the interest, As much as we think Londell is in it for cash don't think Jay has any other interest than the impact that having Prince's music exclusive on a platform that is in its own financial trouble. As I have said before enjoy your bootlegs and this PR remaster because there will not be anything for quite awhile in the form of releases.

But they weren't having it.

I definately did not have to share that to prove that there are African-Americans that do not like Jay Z. Is there a rule book that says in order to be black you must like jay z. How many older African-Americans don't really know who he is and don't care? Millions

I think people are confusing Jay-Z the hip hop artist and Sean Carter the businessman.
JayZ, -- 'if you don’t like his lyrics press fast forward’. (99 problems)
Jay Z is an entertainer, you like his music or you don’t, why say bad things about him personally? Just say you don’t like the music if that’s the case. Move on.
Sean Carter, has proven himself to be a successful businessman and worked with Prince with mutual respect.
Sheesh, leave race out of it.

Race shouldnt be left out of it just for the reasons you stated. If dude was some other, would he be seen as savy, resourceful, intelligent, cunning etc. He's not probably due to his skin color..even by African-Americans. Why is the org worried about race discussion as an an aside to thread derailement when 99% of threads are derailed and nothing is said? Why so damn scary about real life problems out of this purple fantasy bs.

Prince supported that platform because Jay-Z was not as greedy as Spotify and iTunes and he was being paid what he thought he deserved while retaining ownership of his work.

I really wanna see you go this hard @ a person of a different ethnicity. lol (You've expressed that you're bi-racial in the past & so am I.)

Titty

U R probably allegedly a Jay Z fan.
That is cool.
I'm not, but I don't dislike Jay Z either. Just not a fan.

.

poorly or not U asked for proof that Black folk have a problem with Jay Z.
I provided it. It was late at night. I was not in the mood to make it all nice

.

What U posted means nothing to what we were originally talking about.
.
Again, I don't have a problem with Jay Z as a person. Get that through your head.
U R the one pushing hard on this. Like Jay Z don't like him.
As I told Rdhull. Prince fans tend to want direct access to Prince. They bitched when he signed back with WB, they bitched when he signed with Tidal. We had hard times even with LotusFlow3r.com and 3rdEye.com Prince fans want access. There was that almost 3yr period where PRince didn't release an album. The last 6 years were a little ruff.

.
What up swirl bro

But what I've expressed identity wise means nothing here, I've defended Jay Z as a person, and I like his wife. Having issues with Tidal has nothing with Jay Z and race. I wanted access to hardcopy albums. Back then when this was all talked about the word was you had to sign up/pay a fee with Tidal.
U could be triracial, and none of this matters as far as my thoughts on the subject.

U r making a biased assumption that it must not be 'black folk' who have issue with Jay Z.

.

im a huge Roots/Questluv fan, and if he was tidal, I would still have a reaction. But because I see him like us a hardcore Prince fan I would think differently.

.

Your post was the one that interjected 'race' You came to Jay Z's defense.
by post #13

peoples posts prior to your 'agreed' 'partially agreed' 'disagreed'

So unless everyone agrees with your take on things, it must be racism?

I do not support Tidal and think the time with them and P was coming to an end.

Then why was Prince providing exclusive music to Tidal days before his passing?

Read Princes messages...they are clear. Maybe he gave him some music so he wouldn't wind up like he did. You are aware of what Prince said about JayZ when he refused to appear at that charity concert and when Prince did not show up Jay Z was mad and burned Princes hit and run CDs saying some disturbing things....

This is complete nonsense and b.s conspiracy theories. I guess you probably think Jay-Z is a 'satanist' and part of the illuminati as well, right?

You are making way too much of Prince's no-show at that concert. Prince shared live performances and plenty of additional material with Tidal well after that occured. It really wasn't that significant.

Look it up the info is out there.
This is complete nonsense and b.s conspiracy theories. I guess you probably think Jay-Z is a 'satanist' and part of the illuminati as well, right? There is no proof about that concert that anything happend beyond Prince not making it. If things were so bad between Tidal and Prince why was the Baltimore concert broadcast on Tidal? Why did Prince continue to send them content up and until the week before he died Was someone putting a gun to heads and forcing him to work with Tidal. Read the court docs nothing is going on with Tidal that was not going on with the UMG deal. More laywers trying to breach contacts to get commission checks.
