Yes sure I do. I love Prince and I will always love him, but there are so many other interesting artist to listen to.

I listen to Prince in phases often, sometimes I have had enough of him and hardly play anything Prince for a few months to a year even. I always got back when a new album came out though. Now that he has died I have been playing more Prince music. I also enjoy albums or songs now that I had dismisses in the past, I gave them a new chance after he died.

I listen to a lot of old school funk, soul and disco artists from the end of the 70's to the mid 80's, that is probably my most favorite era of music. But I also enjoy listening to Miles Davis, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin. Recently I have discovered plenty of new and interesting/exciting artists like Thundercat, Louis Cole/ KNOWER, Anderson.Paak, Kendrick Lamar and MXXWLL. There seem to be all kind of interesting new acts coming up at the moment if you search well enough just below the surface.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

In my life I've listened to tons of different genres, groups, etc. with Prince always being #1 even if I wasn't grooving on him for an extended period of time.

However, since he died it's been almost all Prince. On occasion, I think about putting something else on but it always turns into a Prince CD.

How about y'all?

I listened to Prince mostly from 2004 - 2007 but stopped after I referred to him too much for my
own creative enterprises. When he died, I started listening to him again, and he is still in the back-
ground for my own music despite no longer working in an R&B idiom.

But, I prefer Mozart (classical music) and Monk (jazz) over pop and listen to that 75% of the time.

I do listen to other artists but it will turn into a Prince session (lol). I mean everyday!!! My friends come over & they will say pls put your Prince shit on. I call it the Emancipation sessions. I mean it's like Prince radio over here & I've gotten so many ppl into Prince. It's funny they never want to here the greatest hits anymore. I get request for Joy In Rep., Dorothy Parker, Stopthistrain, Qui Can Luv, When U Were Mine, Noon Rendezvous, Velvet Kitty Cat, the News CD, Ripogodazippa & other non radio songs. For a long time last year I had a problem with music. I couldn't listen to his because it really hurt too much, but I couldn't tolerate silence. So many of my other "favorite" artists just didn't sound good to me anymore. I dug into PrinceVault.com and made a long list of songs that he had covered during his career and sought out the originals. I made a playlist that is now about eleven hours long of songs I knew he had appreciated so much that he covered them live or in studio. I discovered a lot of funky old soul, some very cool contemporaries, and some really interesting new songwriters. It gave me an entirely new perspective on who Prince was as an artist, where he came from, and what he wanted to share with all of us. It's a playlist with a recognizable Prince spin, but it's also a re-boot and a palette-cleanser when I need that.

The playlist is pretty long and I won't dump all the info on here right now, but I'm happy to report that I got a musical education over the last thirteen months. I've been listening a lot to some great tracks by: Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Odetta, Ray Charles, BB King, The Troggs, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Esquires, Jimi Hendrix, Delfonics, CCR, Gene Ammons, Jackson 5, Led Zeppelin, The Meters, The Rolling Stones, Santana, Sly & The Family Stone, The Soul Children, Tommy James & The Shondells, Cat Stevens, Chambers Brothers, Donny Hathaway, The Guess Who, The Staple Singers, Bill Withers, Billy Preston, Joni Mitchell, The Stylistics, The Temptations, James Brown, Billy Cobham, Edgar Winter Group, Kool & The Gang, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Graham Central Station, Muddy Waters, Ohio Players, Dorothy Moore, Parliament, Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan, Fuzzy Haskins, Bob Marley, Commodores, David Bowie, LTD, Marvin Gaye, Stargard, Sylvester, The Cars, Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers, Instant Funk, Maze ft. Frankie Beverly, Zapp, Miles Davis, Roxy Music, The System, Denise Lasalle, The Waterboys, Janet Jackson, Tracy Chapman, Bonnie Raitt, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Salt-N-Pepa, Joan Osborne, Steve Vai, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Sarah McLachlan, Nikka Costa, Foo Fighters, Nicole Nordeman, Amy Winehouse, Jo Hamilton, Donna Grantis Electric Band, Emeli Sandé, Alice Smith, Paloma Faith… and more.

And now it's a joy and a thrill and a pleasure to listen to his music again. I've been a fan since '84, and I'm still finding new dimensions in Prince’s performances and recordings. Hearing new leaks of shows that haven't been widely circulated helps me to discover new artists and songs that he enjoyed and that he covered and shared with us live in concerts, at PPAD events, at rehearsals and sound-checks, live in the studio, broadcast over 3rdEye TV or shared through NPG Music Club and as Ahdio Shows, on unreleased albums and cameos on other musicians' albums.

Thanks 2 all the fams and collectors, leakers and linkers, musicians and music-lovers. Thank U Prince.

P.S. Full disclosure... also been listening to a lot of Weird Al Yankovic and Ween, both of whom have had their own interesting Prince stories to tell. Check 'em out.

Peace & B Wild

Great post.
Cool idea for a playlist.
I wouldn't mind seeing the full list lol.
I recognise most of those but which track did he perform by Billie Holiday?

I'm keeping track of everything I listen to this year, and about 23% of the music I have listened to in 2017 has been by Prince. He's far and away my most listened to artist this year (next highest is at 5%), but I have listened to him more this year than normal given the release of PR Deluxe and the leaks.
Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Forgot about seals album that 1st album is great.TTD is also excellent. vibrator introducing hard-line are great. I do not seem to like any music for the cool kids. Some of them who spent £100 on Sgt pepper could have had now that's what I call music 1984-1993. The best CD comps out there . It would blow their minds. Led zeppelin, Hendrix, Bob dylan , Beatles Bowie are very overated. Not one album I enjoy between them. Phil Collins miles better. Another day in paradise, against all odds, mamma, in air tonight. If Beatle had written hem they would be called masterpieces. They tell you stuff is good over and over then people start believing it. Out of cool to like ones only rate Bob Marley, rolling stones.
Today's music is even worse . Nightclub music or kids music. Mainly computer generated. 2 unlimited did it better ages ago.

I actually prefer Seal's voice now that he's older -- it's done some kind of neat metamorphosis where he almost sounds like someone else. It's a lot deeper than it used to be. I heard something off 7 on youtube (I think it was Do You Ever) and was like... "Dafuq is this. Oh, hello." I enjoy all his music, but he's matured a lot (although I think he still might like to kill a paparazzi or two. I ain't mad at him. lol) over the years. And eeeyyyy, man, I happen to like Zeppelin and the Beatles! I can't speak to Dylan or Hendrix, cause I don't really listen to them. Pfft, I got no problem with music today -- it's not 'worse', it's different, because the /times/ are different. We can't try and force shit to go backwards. Remember, back in the day, people thought Prince was terrible. Just sayin', yo.

i am going to check out that seal album as only heard his first 2. as far as hendrix is style is abit off kilter similar to zeppelin. i am not fan but you might like it. only songs i like with zeppelin involved is jimmy page on death wish 2,3 and puff daddy song come with me. Music today is worse,at least the stuff i see on tv is . The skill level of the top musician ed sheeran . He strums the one or two chords in most of his songs.. I watch alot of new music on tv most is computerized beats featuring about 3 artists. . Very cheap videos most consist of being sat in a flat or in a club or down the gym. You look at the now series of cds the earlier ones 1-20 go for alot. Now 30-to the new one go for peanuts. They can not give the newer ones away . Nothing against new music just heard nothing good. In music no charracters anymore.

I did not know we had it so good in the 80s . These new ones do not put on a show like prince or michael jackson did and thats a fact.

Check out 'Do You Ever' and 'Every Time I'm With You'. Both are on youtube. And meh, these are different artists, they shouldn't be like MIchael Jackson and Prince. I'd get really bored if they were. It's different time, therefore the music is different. I personally appreciate it being so different. I don't espcially WANT artists to put on a big-ass spectacle.

Of course. Lots of music. From Metallica to Miles Davis. From Kendrick Lamar to Red Hot Chili Peppers. From Living Colour to Tom Jobim. And The Police, Steely Dan, Led Zep, Van Halen, brazilian music, cuban music, PFunk, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, KISS, Whitesnake, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Thundercat, George Michael, Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker, Esperanza Spalding, Jamiroquai, Bowie, Tears for Fears, Deep Purple, Jaco Pastorius, Highly Suspect, Bruno Mars, etc etc etc

.
And, to be honest, sometimes I get very bored with some Prince fans that only listen to him and think only he could deliver good music (or ´real music´)

In my case, it´s the opposite. I still listen to Prince, but a lot less. I get sad everytime I listen to him or watch a concert. I believe Prince would want us to be enjoying what he created, but it´s still hard.

I felt like that just after he passed, but only for a few months. Now thanks to these new leaks I'm listening to him a lot again. So it comes and goes. Sometimes I'm in a Zappa mood and want to hear nothing else for a while...

As mentioned previously, I enjoy all types of music though Prince is definitely my favorite. Every decade I try to find some new to me artists to get into. For the 2010s, I absolutely love Jason Isbell, Laura Marling, and Sufjan Stevens. None of these share anything in common with Prince except for their enormous creativity and talent.
