Prince made most of his money in a different era. I was shocked to see Bowie worth $100m at his death, a quarter what Beyonce is worth?! He's been consistently making music for almost 50years. It's quite sad. There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️ | |

--- Morris Hayes said Prince would tip the coffee barista $90.00 every time they went for coffee. I don't think he cared about money and you know I would take that 200 million any day. | |

--Prince was not with a major label for him 200 million is good and he owned his masters do you think Beyoncé owns hers. He had the carreer he wanted to have and he did good and wills don't stop taxes. | |

Finally, an Order excluding Carlin Q as an heir. We only have a couple more. Now where are the divorce documents and why are they still unsealed? I expect a ruling from the Judge or Magistrate soon on whatever motions were heard on 11-14-16. [Edited 11/30/16 21:09pm] | |

Am I wrong? Didn't Mani celebrate her 40th Bday this year? Or was it her 38th? [Edited 11/30/16 22:12pm] | |

It also makes me wonder though if these estimates of celebrities net worth are quite exaggerated. Most of the time Forbes is making estimates on the worth of sponsorship deals and they probably don't know what percentage of concert ticket and merchandise sales go to the artist. I suppose. But there are plenty of ways he could have made more $$ throughout his career if he wanted to. Paisley Park is in your heart

Robert Downey, Jr., reportedly made $75 million off his last action movie. Today's big stars make huge amounts of money. | |

I too, believe the current #'s are inflated. I don't think Prince was left wanting or needing anything. Also, a hundred million isn't what it used to be | |

Also, a hundred million isn't what it used to be --- 100 million is enough for a guy with no dependent and a few employees. I honestly don't understand why anyone thinks he would be worth 500 million after not being on a lable for years and with music sales being bad for everyone for years. | |

If you think about it, since the early 90s when his WB crusade began, he really hasn't had the sales of the 80s. He did tour, $85 million for one tour, and then his comment that he was making $3 million per night when he was complaining about the sound out in LA. If Jon Bon Jovi is worth $300 million today, having toured incessantly for a long time, I can imagine Prince being worth at least that. But how much did Prince give away? We never heard, I don't think, if he was the person responsible for the $30 million plus gift last year to a San Francisco non-profit. I do think he went through an incredible amount of money (good for him), but he just seemed not to be interested in keeping up PP or the Egg, or really paying attention to those types of things the past five or so years. | |

It doesnt look like the divorce file has been unsealed. There were several motions filed and a hearing was held on November 14, 2016. There may be another Order that comes out before the records are unsealed. | |

. 2.3 million for a stack of papers with letters is a lot of money. The relativity of the sum is only illustarted when you know the cashflow into the estate. Are they draining the estate or are they still earning a bit? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. | |

Remember in had 19 albums in the U.S chart after he passed and he did sell out a stadium in Oakland. They are also selling properties and he had commercial properties that may be bringing in revenue not to mention a sold out tribute concert. If you look on the estate thread I only see one actual finacial claim that is still open. The estate will be making money for years to come. | |

. So we see over 10% of that 25+M USD in legal costs?! That is a large chunk. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. | |

P's estate is a complicated legal matter. There are issues that have never been addressed in a probate estate case before. The amount of attorney fees includes the folllowing services: 1. Copyright infringement and lawsuit with Tidal; 2. Copyright litigation that began before P's death (including the lawsuit in Italy against P); 3. Copyright litigation in Florida against P; 4. Divorce records litigation; 5. Heirship claims and issues; 6. Appellate court briefs; 7. The organization and opening of PP Museum; 8. Addressing motions by the media to intervene; 9. Addressing every motion, pleading filed (there have been over 700); 10. Communication and negotiation with potential heirs; 11. Official tribute concert; 12. Entertainment issues and monetization of the Estate; 13. Master-use license requests; 14. Royalty statements and collection fees both US and foreign; 15. Intellectual property protection and enforcement; 16. Real estate issues; 17. Rodney Dixon's claim which took up a lot of time doing research, and responding to his claim, etc.; 18. Prep of the estate tax return; 19. The amount of attorney fees the Estate paid is also for all potential heir attorney fees; 20. There is over $34k in just expenses; 21. The list goes on...... | |

Thanks for putting this into perspective for me. Man, that is a lot of work. Since a valuation has been put on the Estate, does that mean that Inventory will be released or can the Court seal that? | |
