If he had in place an end-of-life plan (will, trusts, etc.), the court wouldn't be dealing with this nonsense. IMO what he did structure was not enough.

What part of this do you not understand. He could have placed some funds, songs, and property in his LLC or in a trust. Not everything has to go into these vehicles. We the public are not going to know anything about it since none of these vehicle goes through a court. We have not seen a final accounting of his assets so we do know if all of his assets are in the estate that is being handled by the court. All fanancial transactions have been sealed so may never find out. Also please stop saying wills will stop taxes from being due because they don't.

.

Proper estate planning can ALLEVIATE the tax burden. It's NEVER advisable to die intestate. Prince was human, he made mistakes, and not planning for the end of his life was a big one. End of.

-- The only thing that could help with taxes is if he had a trust for the whole estate. I never said dying interstate was a good thing but wills do nothing to help with taxes. That being said I doubt Prince belived he was going to die and even if he knew he was going to die maybe he was not concerned with the money. You can't take it with you.

Roc Nation has filed a claim against the Estate. There are not any specifics in the claim.

If he had a deal with Jay-z to deliver two more albums and the deal was only for a year the estate still has to deliver the albums or be sued. This could cause a needless law suit and a delay in getting new music out. It also appears to be against what the family wants. The same thing happened with M.J as Quincy Jones sued the MJ estate because they violated an agreement Quincy had to do remixes. The question is why is the estate not delivering the music to finish out the deal?

Thanks. This reminds me of when Prince handed WB the last 2 records to fill his contract. The Estate should just fulfill the contract requirements and move on. It will generate more revenue (which is needed) and reduce costs of future litagation and legal woes.

--- Co-sign I don't why they are doing this since reading the claim Roc Nation notified the estate months ago. Instead they want to move ahead with a greatest hits that no one cares about.

I understand that WB had the hits and PR material prior to Prince's passing and green lighting those releases to a point.

I thought the industry experts that were hired/retained were suppose to help with any issues like Tidal and WB. If so, someone dropped the ball there.

The only explanation I can think of is Tidal is pissed at the "rejection of their offer" for $35/$40M.

I understand Bremer has a massive undertaking to do. I would think fulfilling existing contracts and ended those and creating revenue streams should now be the focus. The court will handle the heir issue. Bremer needs to handle the financial and contractual.

-I know that greatest hits was planned before Prince passed and I am sure none of the hardcore are interested in it. I suspect that WB were interested in vault material and not so much of P' s new stuff. Still silly of Breamer to allow another claim against the estate.

If 85 pages is too much then how great is America?

Just scan it, file it, put it online and send out the URLs.

How hard can it be?

That's what I was thinking. It's all electronic. You need copies? Buy another printer and some paper. Even my little business has multiple devices.

A lot of disallowances have been posted. Is Bremer asking for the disallowances and the Judge rules on them or is this final, pending appeals? Trying to understand the legalities here.

Also, noticed Tidal submitted another request for consideration. This has some interesting information in it in regards to the alleged contract/agreement made by Prince prior to his passing.

All the disallowances are signed by "Laura E. Halferty, Attorney for Special Administrator", not the judge.

Forgive me - what, exactly, are 'disallowances' in this instance? And what does this mean with regard to the divorce records? Thank you for obliging an imbecile! biggrin

Does anyone know where the divorce documents can be accessed from? I notice that all documents listed on the "Register of Actions" are not clickable, even on the probate case. What does "result: Held" mean and was it there previously?

Not sure I'm understanding your question. But I have clickables if you scroll up further. Nothing on the Divorce case is seeable. No idea what Held means. The Probate stuff is clickable, unless there's some restriction for other countries.

The disallowances are for the some of the stupid claims. Breamer is saying we are not paying because your claim is bogus.

This has nothing to do with the divorce papers. I do find the Roc Nation claim interesting because they are saying they have Equity Term agreement for five years to stream music. I am puzzled how Breamer or Londell made the decision to go with Universal if they knew agreement was in place. In addtion, it looks like content must be exclusive for at least 90 days so we may get to see music on other platforms just not immediatley. I hope this means we can unrealshed stuff soon and wonder if Tidal held back payment for fear of the agreement being violated.

There was a condemnation process in 2008, link:

http://pa.courts.state.mn.us/CaseDetail.aspx?CaseID=1612115818

It has Prince and Manuela listed as respondents. Anyone know what this is about?

I know it is off topic, but it caught my eye.

The Roc Nation is very interesting. I wonder if the WB releases were also a reason for their claim. You brought up some very good points/questions.

Roc Nation's language of exploiting Prince's music sounds wierd, considering Prince's stance on artistic freedom.

According to their claim, they are entitled to the next 2 unreleased studio albums to be released. There are not any specific titles. The 90 days, can that be conveyed to the WB releases? That deal and submissions was prior to Tidal, unless I am incorrect.

Equity also means ownership. I believe that Prince was an investor in Tidal. I am even more puzzled as to the reason Breamer is trying to pull away from Tidal unless of course no money was being made.
