I don't understand this kind of vitriol at all. Didn't Prince tell her his wishes and she carried them out? I thought I read that. It's no one ele's business but the family's. Thank God, this didn't turn into the James Brown fiasco. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Why all the separate services? Why didn't they have 1 private service for family, close friends, and former and current employees? I'm not trying to criticize them, I'm just trying to understand.

It definitely looks like that tho doesn't it. Im so confused on how I'm feeling right now. On the one hand, I'm perfectly fine with him on his urn peacefully and his family constantly defending him. On the other hand as much as I say I'm okay with hos death...I still get these weird feelings.
I keep telling myself he's dead and there ain't a damn thing i or anyone else can do. But dang it I still hurt, not for me or hom but his family and his friends. People actually knew him and fans who are like me and built this strange relationship with him. How do you say goodbye to a beloved stranger? I have no problem with his familey keeping him close and not doing anything with his ashes. I just don't get bringing them out for the memorial and taking pictures. Which was not Tyka. Also I don't know much about JW stuff but I do know when anyone from my Husbands familey have died they have been cremated very quickley and the remains have been left at the funeral home as there body has no inportance to anyone. They have then had a quick memorial service the next week for anyone who wanted to go. Which included non JW from the familey. I also have to say they were always in the kingdom Hall and never a Church. There are no rules on how people grieve and I really was not having a pop at Tyka at this really hard time.

I've heard of people keeping an urn with their loved ones remains in their home on a mantel or somewhere of that nature. [Edited 8/13/16 9:05am]

A lot of people do it--it is not uncommon at all. In some faiths, it is traditional to place the urn in a shrine dedicated to one's ancestors. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

😭💔 I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Yes--I appreciate this place so much because I ALREADY have those worries, and I ALREADY feel like I've exhausted my husband's tolerance for how sad I am about a "stranger." This is where I can visit to be around other folks having a similarly mind-blowing emotional experience. And who are patient and understanding with my n00biness.
