That's very nice of her. What's the website? I don't know if it's cool 2 put it up on here tho confuse

I will orgnote it to you. I would ask her first, I dont know if her server could handle the traffic.

I stopped watching the live feed now. Seriously I can't even handle watching this. It's just too sad. I can't even imagine how I'd feel like if I was supposed to be there. Kudos to Kirstin, there are clearly benefits to be young. smile

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Yeah you've got a point. Thanks.

Based on FB comments it sounds like Mayte and her daughter are there. Dez Dickerson as well. Mayte posted a picture on Instagram. Her daughter is so cute!

Today's service was powerful. Being back inside Paisley Park, without The Man Himself there, was bittersweet.

But I am finally starting to be able to just appreciate all he did and all he gave. And it's also mindblowing to see representatives of ALL his many tribes in one space -- artists and collaborators spanning four decades. For those of us who shared his last decade to have a chance to break bread with those who shared his first decade as an artist? Unbelievable and so moving, on both sides. More later, maybe. ...

Long live Prince Rogers Nelson!

Although I realise that everyone mourns in his own way and tempo, I am also concerned about some of the peeps on here. Let's face it, most of us haven't known him personally. And although his music played a large roll in our lives, he was still only a public figure, not a close friend.

I fear some people have idolised him to the point where they think they knew and understood him on a personal level. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, THIS IS AN ILLUSION!!! And a unhealthy one, in my opinion. It makes you suffer deeply over the loss of someone you hardy knew.

Some of you would certainly be better off letting that illusion go and accept that you didn't actually knew him. And if you have a hard time doing that on your own, it might be smart to get some professional help.

On the other hand, most of us here are getting a bit older now (40+) and Prince's unexpected death reminds us of our own mortality. So that might also be a factor in the extended mourning over Prince for some.

Anyway, I wish all you Orgers the best, I love you, and I hope you will be able to cope with his loss some way soon.

Prince spend almost 40 years making very emotionally communicative music, and standing up on stage producing esctasy and communion with people. Yes, we didn't know him personally, but that doesn't mean we weren't meaningfully connected to him (and actually, that music is still there, and is still capable of producing that sense of connection...we will always be meaningfully connected to him on some level). If we weren't meaningfully connected to him, then everything he did and dedicated his life to was an illusion. And I don't think that's the case...and I don't think a lot of people here think that is the case, and I don't think Prince thought that was the case either. Don't worry about people. Support them by accepting their feelings, and they'll get through it fine, in however much time it takes each of them to get through it.

I didn't post this on my social media. I just sat with it and cried. It's not news and to see that urn is to feel unnecessary pain. But I will always choose to know and see what I can of what's left because I miss, love, grieve him. Respect is important, so that's the line I live by.

Only chance to fix this for the fans is make sure OCT 13 is amazing and it is also televised. Up to this point, fans have been shafted, not able to get closure at all. I'm keeping the faith that this event will be everything we want it to be. Everything that we NEED it to be!

Sheila E. posted this on Twitter. So I assume she was there yesterday?

As far as memorials in general the one in LA wasn't sanctioned by P's family and if I'm remembering right no family members were there. I think it's unfortunate that P's ex-wives had to host their own memorial. I think it was quite disrespectful to the family. There should have been only one memorial, at Paisley Park, coordinated by the family. Which ever celebrity friends wanted to attend, well they could hall their butts to Minnesota.

Maybe they didn't know if there would be another memorial. They needed a chance for closure too. The family can't call the shots on who wants to mourn and how. Besides, the family cremated him and had a small service with a few close invites afterwards within a day or two of his death. The more people showing respect to Prince the better, imo, especially the people who's lives he touched.

His brother, Omarr, was at the LA memorial. His name was on the program as part of the ceremony. Tyka stated on Facebook that a more expeditious memorial was initially planned, but unforeseen circumstances caused them to put it on hold, so they opted for the 'acknowledgement ceremony' at Paisley since many of the guests had already flown in, and also that she supported all other memorials for him, but that she herself, could only stomach it once. Also, Manuela and Mayte had to collaborate with his managers to create a list of guests, so obviously, his team was in support of it as well. These women were once his wives, so I really couldn't imagine them overstepping their boundaries and former in-laws in such a manner by planning an event without running it by them first anyway. So, if the family didn't feel disrespected, why should anyone else? *shrug*

Wow this is heavy, but in a way I am relieved that finally there are these specific services being held to pay respects to Prince and that his family, friends and colleagues are able to mourn him. I also pray a lot of Prince fan's especially the Org family are able to attend the tribute concert in October. It sounds like it is going to be wild from what his cousin says, and I for one wish I could be there.

+++

I know the fans going to this event will benefit from going, and I am happy for you all that will. As for us fans that cannot attend, I hope we can see it via broadcast. But I know that is not the same, nothing like being there in person and feeling the vibes.

+++

Luv to you all out there, it feels like we are all re-living his passing all over again. I miss you Prince!!

This is the first I'm hearing about that, but -- goodie bags were given out to the mourners? Hoodies with the date of the memorial service emblazoned on it? I have to say I think it's weird too (I'm American btw..and Minnesotan).

Yes the hoodie Sheila E is wearing in the pics posted here. They say "The eternity of Prince, friends memorial" with the date and the back has a pic of him & says "Way Back Home 1958 - eternity". They got symbol necklaces too & the goodie bags were black with his symbol. Pics are on twitter if you search #paisleypark (under live not top tweets). Really quite gastly I think, like it's an event but each their own I guess.

I mentioned being British cos of the stiff upper lip thing lol but glad I'm not the only one who finds it odd.
