Please don't attack the family (or the thread-starter) for putting these pictures out there. People have different opinions about what is appropriate or necessary to achieve closure after a death. Some may feel they needed this image. I wish I didn't look, but that was my choice.

There's no bait or flaming or trolling going on ..... move on.

It was just a preemptive comment because I could see it starting. Sorry.

My thing is this we can't keep going through this every month...its been tough just getting to this point. I think they need to let Prince rest in peace. Here it is almost 4 months later and it's time to accept this and learn to live with it. Prince is with God and his loved ones I'm sure of that and we need to let his soul rest.

Smith said he hopes his death can help others -- those struggling or those who are in need of help.
"Being free enough to be able to say, I'm not doing well today. I'm in pain. Can you guys help me? Are you going to make fun of me if I tell you that I am in need, I'm hurting?" he said. "That's really a big lesson, that everybody needs to learn."

That part really hurts my feelings. sad

That's why this needs to end...it's too much to keep revisiting this.

Yea mine too. He is right tho. Speaking from personal experience you would be sickened to know the judgement I alone have faced. It's hard BC my injuries are invisible (spine from neck to tailbone . My scars leave onky a 2 inch section untouched). They think cause I don't LOOK like I'm hurt I shouldn't be in pain. Yea right, I wish!!!

I really hate to hear that. I've read so many hateful things on the Internet in recent years in regard to people that perish while trying to manage certain conditions with prescriptions and other substances. I have no tolerance for people that look down on others for needing help. I hope that your condition becomes more manageable for you and the rest of world makes a greater effort to be empathetic to those that endure it.

Prince barely slept. Do you really think his soul is "resting"?

He's probably playing a gig tonight off the shoulder of Alpha-Centauri. I'm sure he was also at the family's memorial. Though in typical style, he probably didn't show up until everyone was getting ready to go home.

Is Prince's cousin Chaz saying that Prince DID tell them he was in pain and Prince DID reach out and ask them for help - and that they DID in fact try to help? It's not stated that clearly, so... http://www.kare11.com/mb/.../296282778

It is stated clearly.

He is saying that the lesson everybody needs to learn is to be free enough to ask for help if one is in pain. And that he and his family reached out as best as they could.

I was already still crying every day so I guess more crying for me. sad

sad pat

I thought his cousin was very eloquent in his answers and I could tell he was visibily upset still. I am glad I watched this even if I am crying again.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

The thing that stoof out most for me was that the reporter said that the family wants to use paisley park as a studio for family members.

i still don't hear a clear story.
Yes, it's a lesson that we should reach out to another when in pain, but the reporter wasn't clear about whether or not that had happened.
Chazz seems to war people to know however that they did reach out, but did they do that because they knew? Had Prince reached out to them and said he was in pain?
It is not clear, and if it is, please correct me.
Yes, i do want to know what happened.

-- I took from it that they knew he was in pain and I would not be surprised if they tried some sort intervention or if Prince had not been in Rehab in previous years. He may have been trying to withdraw on his own after failed rehab attempts and was probaly suffering joint pain as well. I am glad they are speaking out and now maybe the media will start showing some symphy for he was dealing with and stop trying to drag him down. I am happy Charles spoke out about this love child crap. Dude had one child who passed away his son is not some jailbird and the stereotyping needs to stop.

I thought it was a good, heartfelt interview. Life has been so very busy for me, so much so that I still haven't processed it and I still cannot believe it. It did make me sad to see the photo.

I don't remember reading that, but if it's true I'm somehow not surprised. Seems a given actually. I'm sure there are several aspiring musicians in the family. We'll see.

From the interview I saw, his family reached out to Prince and he went on to say, "it's on record". That got to me. What does he mean by, "it's on record"?

He sounded a bit angry when he said that. I wonder if the family feels like they're being blamed and want people to know they tried to help? confused

-- If you are not interested in anything I have to say why do you read anything I post. Before the search warrant was sealed Kirk said Prince had been in the hospitalized in 2014 and 2015. His cousin just said their help was on the record. Put something together by using your critical thinking skills. Unless you do not even believe Prince was in any pain at all despite what his own cousin is saying. He was a proud man trying to withdraw his own.

-// He should be angry at how the media is digging for dirt and at these asshats claiming to be love children. He is right it is all being done to tear down Prince's rep. I imagine his family members are livid.
