Agreed. I feel we'll hear results this week and while it may be vague, it will hopefully provide some much needed closure. I'm from Mn. and know they're being thorough and know the worlds eyes are watching.
I dread it being all over the news and feeds again, but hopefully it'll die down soon after, as it's too painful reading all the negative spins, inuendo's, gossip and outright bullshit, imo.
I have to admit, I was very surprised that CNN and many other news outlets had Prince on all day on 4/21, and by all the love shown for him all over the world. I always knew he was "huge" to me and a lot of us Minnesotans, and to all of us here, but after spending decades defending him and his music I didn't realize he would have this big of a impact. Anyone else feel this way? His death generated worldwide attention and so will his cause of death. People want to know and there's nothing wrong with that, for some it will provide closure and for others its morbid curiosity. Outside of the States this news was huge because he was a global star. Despite not having chart hits in his recent years his death came as a huge shock and people genuinely felt a sense of sadness and loss around the world. So inevitably the cause of death is of interest worldwide too. Baby, you're a star.

They know what caused his death and they knew within a hour after autopsy.
What the hold up now is the final toxicology report and the criminal phase

A month and half is fast?

No, we want it done right. RIP

Toxicology can take up to 2 months. It is actually a long process. Depending upon what they are looking for. Drugs have half lives, they also breakdown into different chemicals. So if they suspect one drug, they would probably have to look for it's bi-products. I don't know if they use hair samples? That would prove whether or not he was an "addict" like they are claiming. They also test tissues, I believe.
I am convinced he was gravely ill and not all of those around him were privvy to that information. So, he may have metabilized drugs at different rates and actually did OD, hence the save shot. If all his employers did not know, they would assume it was an addiction and not due to the drugs he was taking? Again, speculation.
I think he had cancer. Either pancreas, bladder or Kaposi Sarcoma. I would think the latter. I always think back to the book, "Blame it on Vanity". She died of EPS, which is common in HIV patients post transplant. It's just a thought and no defamation is implied. She was addicted to Heroin and I think the addiction he sings of is directed towards her and his loss. Not of his true love, but a woman he loved and lost to drugs.

I was thinking the same.

Google "how long does an autopsy take" and the results will tell you 6-8 weeks. Tomorrow will mark 6 weeks. What delay? It was always going to be 6-8 weeks. Some of you are acting like it's been 6 months.

This has just occured to me: was Will Smith ever asked by the press what was the conversation with Prince about? I remember WS saying he had spoken to Prince the night before he was found in the elevator. Just curious why the press did not hound him for news...

Seems we heard bout it the day Prince died but never heard another word about it. Or Will. He was quick to say he spoke to him....of course, it would be hard to say you didn't talk if your number is on the phone records So wonder what was up with that. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

I wonder what Prince and Will talked about. Will is a distant cousin of mine. I'd ask him if I knew him but we never met. No need to say, no need to say, that I'd die without you, I'd die without you...because I may, I may, what will you do? ~Prince, Sea of Everything

I know, I was surprised we didn't hear anything further. Then I thought, well maybe it wasn't on that actual day or maybe it wasn't technically a conversation. Kinda like when Sheila said she called him a week before his death and made it sound like they talked, but in reality, Kirk J just took a msg and P never returned her call.

"I am stunned and heartbroken. I just spoke with him last night. Today, Jada & I mourn with all of you the loss of a beautiful poet, a true inspiration, and one of the most magnificent artists to ever grace this earth."
If he did, there will be records of that. I find it strange that the press did not follow that further, thay are always so eager... [Edited 6/1/16 13:00pm]

Maybe we should make some shit up to mess with TMZ. Or is that too mean spirited? I know if it wasn't them breaking the news it'd be someone else but they just seem so tabloid / glitz / scandal / clickbait. Love u purple peeps. Comin str8 outta Preston...

Oh, From Emancipation; "The Love We Make" is the song. And that was written for Wendy and Susannah's brother Jonathan who died from a Heroin overdose earlier in the year while on tour with the smashing pumpkins. He was married and had just had a baby 3 months before his death, which is why I think there is a line in the song about a baby and mother.

I brought this up in another thread, which I think eventually got locked. "I gave my love, I gave my life, I gave my body and mind..." - P

IF true, then it was Prince himself reaching out not his representatives. So he was not being unreachable, stubborn, resistant and a host of other adjectives that keep being said he was about whatever was going on with him.

How convenient, because I have a message I've been meaning to pass on to the Prince-hounding press for ages! And I see all of your creations as one perfect complex

I can't for the life of me figure out why some people here just want to stifle other people from saying what is on their mind. There's moderators here, there's rules...and if someone violates the rules then the mods will take care of it. People work out their grief however they have to and no one needs to approve of another's way of dealing. Please don't read what you don't like and let others be. Agreed but the problem is the mods are deleting some threads with speculation and leaving others on. There's no consistency. I don't mind hearing others thoughts on the subject.Just praying the mods aren't delete happy..as they deleted some great threads. [Edited 5/22/16 15:39pm] I agree. Some of us are in a lot of pain. A tremendous amount of pain. Yet, if you try to talk through the horribleness of what may have happened, it seems you may not be allowed to do that here; among people who say that they cared. I'm not even sure at this point that when something is publicized, that it will be the truth. If you seek only love’s pleasure... you shall laugh..but not all of your laughter, and cry.. but not all of your tears…
