Nothing official, but an interesting take on things, nonetheless. I wasn't aware there was an official name for it, but I had a feeling it may have been something like the so called VIP-syndrome.

Did Prince suffer from 'VIP syndrome'?

Just read that, too. Definitely insightful article and, hopefully, will bring awareness to prevent untimely deaths of celebrities.

Still no news but this has just been released and explains what results legally can be released to the public. http://kuow.org/post/prin...d-publicly

They need to stop with all the secrecy ("what-might-might-not-be") and just release the results. The man is dead, everyone knows he died of something, just tell the truth! What's there to hide? If anything, this just will make the media and everyone else more supicious, and they will form their own opinions anyhow, just like they are doing now. And needless to say, if the media wants to know something, they will keep digging, and do whatever it takes to get answers.

Even I am getting a little impatient about those results. Not sure I want to hear them on my birthday though.

The longer fans are made to wait for to find out what medically happened to Prince to cause his passing ,the more it feeds the conspiracy theorists. Even I am starting to wonder if all this delay is to get the LIES and ALIBIS straight. This is 2016 for GOD's sake. Is anything really private or secret that someone cannot find out with the proper funding? It is just hard for me to trust what they say now will be actually true. My condolences to his family and loved ones who have had to endure this wait.

Good grief. If you don't want to read any speculation, no one is forcing you to come to this thread so please step out. I can't for the life of me figure out why some people here just want to stifle other people from saying what is on their mind. There's moderators here, there's rules...and if someone violates the rules then the mods will take care of it. People work out their grief however they have to and no one needs to approve of another's way of dealing. Please don't read what you don't like and let others be.

Yes. Right on, Munio.

I triple that!!! If you don't like this thread, then don't click on it!!! Did you come here to criticize and be judgmental? Well, we don't want to hear it!

I believe that Prince wouid want us to learn something from his death (and life), so that others do not have to suffer as he did.

We are not doing this out of malice for Price. I realize that I cannot speak for everyone here, but only for myself. But most of Prince's fans on this site LOVED that man, and we just want to know what happened to have him so suddenly taken from us.

If you don't like this thread, then DON'T click on it!!!!

RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

Just a question that was on this forum prior to Prince's death. Do autopsy results have to be released? And if not is it the family's decision whether that is released? Listening to doctor's that have done autopsies and witnessed to them, they say that results if "natural" are known right away like within 48 hours or sooner, (example heart attack, seizure), if there was a pre-existing illness that would be known pretty quick too, because whomever the deceased was, they had a doctor and had to be diagnosed, so they were already called into question. In the case of there being an OD or some other form of drug being taken, it still would be known fairly quick, possibly even 2-4 weeks at most, drugs can be detected right away, its just the amount is not known right away. Again there is so much speculation BUT everyone needs to understand that something is known already and it's being held on to for a reason, possibly the family, possibly for "criminal prosecution" of maybe a doctor or someone that maybe got him illegal prescriptions, I think they are being super careful and want this to simmer down, they want to get Prince's name out of the daily media feeds etc...before they release it or if they release it.

Under one of Prince's pics on Morris Day's FB someone named Timothy Fitz commented that word on the street and thru the grapevine in MN is that the reason theres been a delay in pinpointing the cause of death is because there are competing causes,.which usually means there is both a terminal illness and a potentially lethal amount of drugs found in his system..which must b determined by how much he had been taking, for how long, his dose, tolerance level, etc.

Death certificates are public record, a cause of death is listed on the certificate, however , they aren't always that accurate or detailed .
Meaning a cause of death will be listed, but the autopsy results are not a matter of public record , so a death certificate can list one cause and there can be other contributing factors that are not listed .

whitney's death wasn't simple either, she first took a hit of coke, then had a heart attack which maybe wouldn't have killed her but she fell into some water and drowned. i always remind people that the reports were first "she did not drown" and "didn't have enough water in her lungs to have drowned" to point out that the "experts" are just people.

Yes it is sad, but again this is how very private and alone this man was. Yes he had a circle and friends but he was not hanging with people, sure he might have popped up at parties and seemed great and healthy, but you can fake a lot especially when your whole existence no one has ever seen you in a state of suffering or pain. I mean this man concealed death of his child and was so very private and I and I'm sure many others respect that he could do that and still tour and record and give us gifts like that. Prince had no other existence, other than MUSIC, we will never know what he was feeling or what was in his mind, but I know that many did not buy into the fact that he was possibly struggling with some health issue, but I think and have always felt he was in some way, something was not right, it was beyond the hip, but again that is me, maybe right maybe wrong, wont change his not being here nor the influence he was to all of us.

Difference being though, the autopsy and toxicology reports came out within 30 days of her death. There was no delay in reporting the conflicting or competing causes of her death.

ok, but i've seen plenty of cases where the final report takes so long that people don't even pay attention when it comes out, that's usually the case with lesser celebrities than Prince though. So many of them, Brittany Murphy, the guy who founded that one music pirate site, etc.., etc., many of them I never even hear anymore after their deaths are announced.

Totally feeling what you're saying, but we're talking Prince. We're talking about CNN shutting down their highest, most excellent ratings in covering an Election Year to report on and pay homage to Prince. We're talking about the Prince who had national monuments, historical and government buildings dawn on purple when the news hit. This is an international tragedy, and the world is not gonna go without closure on this one. The autopsy and toxicology results are done. They're dealing with how they want to break it to the world.

Agreed. I feel we'll hear results this week and while it may be vague, it will hopefully provide some much needed closure. I'm from Mn. and know they're being thorough and know the worlds eyes are watching.

I dread it being all over the news and feeds again, but hopefully it'll die down soon after, as it's too painful reading all the negative spins, inuendo's, gossip and outright bullshit, imo.

I have to admit, I was very surprised that CNN and many other news outlets had Prince on all day on 4/21, and by all the love shown for him all over the world. I always knew he was "huge" to me and a lot of us Minnesotans, and to all of us here, but after spending decades defending him and his music I didn't realize he would have this big of a impact.

Anyone else feel this way?

Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

I lived in Eden Prairie from 2010-2012 and grew up in Tulsa and Kansas City. I became a Prince fanatic in high school when he released his second album. Prince was impactful everywhere but I understand and respect Minnesotians protectiveness of him. He loved Minnesota and Minnesota loved him back. I agree that the authorities want to ensure the final, communicated results are unequivocal and are as transparent as legally possible. All the people I know in Minnesota are honest, hard-working, loving and brilliant people. I plan to trust the results shared. While the results will most likely be painful to hear, knowing, at least something, will help some of us move forward.

It's just a little over 30 days since Prince's death. I don't think that Whitney was taking any prescriptions that could cause death like Prince was, so they didn't have to spend a lot of time investigating doctors and pharmacies, and I don't think that the DEA was involved with her case.

They still had to prove it. I think the nurse that MJ tried to hit up for propofol came forward. I remember that MJ was dead for over a month and Latoya had to go to the mosuleum to allow someone from the medical examiner's office to get more hair samples. The police probably had to match up statements from Murray to the autopsy results, which is what took so long. Hopefully, Prince's case does not involve criminal activity.

I feel u have a point.

Right from the start it seems to me like there has been quite a bit of secrecy surrounding this.

How come more details havn't been given about the people who found Prince and in the context of how he was found etc. I know we have the report about the Dr's son and the 911 call, but still it seems like there is lots of other information that we are just not getting.

I think by now the autopsy report should have given some weighted explanations as to cause of passing.

Its mysterious as to why its taking such a long time for this to be publicly reported.
