It's heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking. But no, it's not over. Not by a long shot. There are many generations yet born that will one day call themselves Prince fans. And they'll look to us and say "Wow, what was it like being at a Prince concert?" The first part of the journey is over, far to soon, but there's lots of love to come. I'm just glad that I walked the Earth the same time as this wonderful musical Genius. I will never stop missing him though. Grits and gravy, cheese eggs and jam...

There are still lots of moments that are making me very sad, remembering how great he was and knowing he has gone hurts a lot more than I would like to admit it to myself. The road is going to be long, no doubt, but I am determined to keep celebrating everything about him and his life, by sharing it with other on here and with other fans out there too. His death cannot kill all the joy that he has provided us, the beautiful moments we have shared in his presence and the music that we still have. All that still lives through us and it is up to us to make it last. I think we are part of his legacy, and we need to preserve it.

I am very happy that I was able to take my son to eight Prince concerts. He will be a fan the rest of his life and play his music on guitar... The legacy will continue, no doubt. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

i totally get that. and i admire his spirit, he was the ultimate performance qrtist, made every little bit count. but still, even though i know it's selfish of me, i wish he could have turned it down a little bit, temper that driving burn and lived longer than me so i'd never have to see this day . also, i feel a touch of guilt that he died living up to my expectations, and the expectations of the world. we were always pushing him for his next project, his next show. he never should have had that dance party, or done things to live up to his own image when he had recently been so ill. i wish we could go back in time and rescue him from himself. put him in full on hospital mode. . but, i do get what you're saying, he came and went like a pure shooting star

it strikes me as odd that there seem to be competing memorials. then again, that could be a function of prince's influence being felt internationally. it's interesting to see the different styles. the exwives' memorial was slick, very stylish. morris day is more organic, quietly posting tributes without saying much. i think prince memorials around the world will look different. somewhere, someone might be wading into the ganges facing sunrise, thinking a prince tune right now.....

It would be so sad to give up because of other people's words... We should be stronger than that. Let's care about Prince and not about bad gossip... And the photo thread is not the same without you nurse! Life Matters

We are getting to the new normal. I don't know what my new normal will be as I have found posting and reading others post has really helped me. I will continue to come and post until something changes. But it's really funny, I posted twice when Prince was alive and now I've come made a few new cool connections, pissed some people off, some people thing I crazy, and in the end it is what it is.
Nursev, please don't delete your account, don't let the haters win!!!!! I have enjoyed reading and replying to your post!!!! Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

. Yeah, you're missing out on probably the most famous line in motion picture history. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" and "Bond, James Bond" fall far behind the classic Belushi line from ANIMAL HOUSE. . . [img:$uid]http://etims.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Animal-House.jpg[/img:$uid]

One thing I re-learned through the past few weeks is that many Prince fans are definitely on the dramatic, fatalist side.
Four things to remember: - Prince already "died" before with the name change, then the death of his more overtly sexual persona. In a way, I've had to "mourn" Prince before at least twice. So did many of you. - It's conceivable that Prince will release more music posthumously than when he was alive. So, from that standpoint, there is still much to come. - You'll probably end up seeing Prince like you have never seen him before through whatever videos he left. - Short of an hologram, you'll never actually see him live again, but if indeed recorded every show, and at least some of it is released, you'll end up hearing him play live quite often.
He is no longer among the living, but more than probably any star, he's positioned to live on through the music and media he created.

There was a rainbow over the club that held the wake for my friend's funeral this year. We can dream that it's a sign but really it's just science. Light refracted by moisture in the air. Pretty but no more than that. Gardens are beautiful as they are. No need to pretend there are fairies hiding amongst the flowers

Sure was fun .. its very tough. I've been dedicated to this for so long I honestly can't think of life without it, it's a big void

Also half of this site are still obsessed with 80s Prince and that person left us a long long time ago (although he was still there and poked his head out every now and then). Personally I'm gutted as I thought he'd outlive me and I'd get to hear an album-a-year for the rest of my life. I honestly thought HitnRun3 was gonna be out by now. I may not have gone crazy over his new stuff but he got me accustomed to expecting it. Such a loss. But here's to his past and the future we'll hopefully see respected and released. It could be an expensive yet exciting time

Yes, a big emptiness in that space where you imagined he was cooking up something new, reacting to the trends, going with or against in his unique ways, finding new bandmates, creating crazy new media appearances, stunts, and perfomances, changing his wardrobe style, his hair, his theme colors, catching a fresh glimpse of his humor... So much fun stuff was always around the corner.
And for me, a big thing in my mind, a tangible goal, is now gone: to try to become creatively adept enough to maybe work on a Prince project professionally in some aspect.
There's no one as inspirational for me personally, that I have discovered yet, that works for me, like an imaginary whip, to get myself good at being full on creative as a way of life. And boy, has it been working for me!
But I can still look back, and hope that stuff will keep coming out that does the same thing. But it's all archeological now. Nothing can change that.

exactly. no amount of fame or fortune was worth the ultimate sacrifice. he, himself, was far more precious than any of that stuff. i hope he knew that
