Wow that is truly awesome. You really made the most out of the opportunites you had to see Prince live. I have some regrets about never seeing him at Paisley Park and perhaps traveling to see a few more shows, but I did see a lot of the USA Lovesexy Tour. He really didn't play much i the USA from 1989 to 1996 or so. I don't remember any big US tours in that time period. Europe got all the love. But s'ok and I still saw some great shows.

Hey felix, we were at a lot of the same shows! I wish I had a list as good as yours. I wish I had a list of all the shows I've attended in general. Unfortunatly, I do not, and I've been to so many shows in my lifetime (well over 1000, and that's not counting smaller jazz gigs) that a lot of the memories have just become one giant blur (for the record, I've done a terrible job of saving ticket stubs, I have maybe a couple hundred total, probably less - it's just never felt as important to me as the experience and the memory). I went to 11 shows on the Musicology tour, alone, I remember that (brotherman hung out on the West Coast a lot for that tour, it was easier than usual for me to get to multiple shows). And I'm guessing somwhere between 10 and 20ish others, leaning closer to the 20ish side (possibly more). So somewhere around 30. I made it to Paisley Park, though, which is by far one of my greatest live music memories. Like, right near the top.

Once, but what a "once" it was! (LOL Tour, 2013.)
Read a story today that indicated he was going to play a show in my town (Nashville) after the cancelled St Louis gig. Almost went to the ATL and now wish I had, of course. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/apr/29/prince-final-days-death-percocet

SquirrelMeat said: The amount of times you have seen Prince in concert doesn't define your fandom. How did you feel the last (maybe only) time you saw him? Agreed. I lost count a long while ago how many times I've seen him but the key was I never lost the feeling and anticipation of going to see him live. I was so looking forward to Piano & a Microphone. Prince was at his best live - the ultimate showman. I guess I have seen him either just under/over 100 times over the years but I do have regrets - my son was days old when Prince did 21 nights so I sadly didn't get to any of those (I'm not close to London) and, obviously, I wish I'd seen him pre-lovesexy (my first concert). But, and I've said it more than once, it has also been the fans that have given me so much pleasure at Prince concerts. I almost always went to concerts alone (by choice) and, standing for hours waiting, I have met the most amazing, likeable, brilliant, interesting, like-minded people ever. I always loved the thrill pre-concert and sharing that with people who have seen him numerous times or for the first time has been an absolute pleasure. I have never got that at any other concert and I'm proud to say that I think Prince had/has the best fans in the world. [Edited 4/29/16 23:36pm]

Not enough, was saving for Piano and a mic. I saw him 5 times with the last show being essencefest. He came out during both Janelle Monet & Chic/Nile Rogers set. Prince played the guitar so!o from David Bowie's Let's Dance (Nile Rogers produced it). I was saving money for Piano and a Mic. I can't pick a favorite, I like that at Essence he sang Cool. You could tell the crowd was shocked, but after a few minutes the crowd was with him just Amazing Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

If you see him multiple times on one tour it soon adds up. Where possible I'd try and travel for every tour date in the UK and there were a lot on the nineties. I have also been fortunate enough to be in a job that allowed me to take the time off when I needed it. I was less keen on the Hit n Run format - trying to get time off, arrange childcare & travel etc... at short notice was a nightmare.

11. All brilliant, but the first time, I almost dropped in shock, it was intense. Nude tour 1990. I went in secret because I was fed up with hearing that I hadn't seen lovesexy and nothing would ever be as great, I was ticked off because I was 14 in 88 . So I went and had a side view seat in wembley arena. It was a few feet off the stage and probably the closest I've ever been in a large gig,I never understood why people screamed at concerts , then he stepped out . Alas, but four times..... so wish it had been more...
1995, Gold Tour, Wembley Arena... loved that he had recently become 'the symbol', and refused to play any old Prince songs...
2002, One Nite Alone Tour, Hammersmith Apollo - absolutely incredible 'jazz quintet' tour with Rainbow Children material and more.... amazing show.
2007 x2 - O2, London - I had managed to get tickets, but they were waaaaay up in the gods, the nosebleed section near the roof! But the Symbol stage looked incredible from up there, and the sound was amazing.... then a short while after I received an email saying 'as you were a member of the (by then defunct) NPGMC and never got to take advantage of the priority ticket system during your membership, we'd like to offer you the opportunity to buy some priority tickets to a 21 Nights show' I thought that was pretty classy.... and ended up with seats to a second O2 show, on the floor, right by the stage, behind the VIP section..... the sound was shitty down there, but the atmosphere was electric, and we got to see Prince up close through the performance...... so I got to see the show from the roof and from the floor!
That's it! .... except to say that I was in line at Ronnie Scott's in 2013, ten people from the door when they said - 'that's it! We can't fit anyone else in AT ALL!'..... I'd been queueing for hours and had missed my last train home by that point.... I could hear Prince and the band jamming inside and people going crazy whenever the door opened.... the next train home was at 4am. I got home at nearly 7am, to tell my girlfriend that I had ALMOST gotten to see PRince at Ronnie Scott's...
Still glad I tried, though....... was so looking forward to catching the Piano and Microphone tour..... it was not to be....

around 68 times. a LOT of late night paisley jams from '97-'00.
i went through year by year and made a reasonable guess for each year. highlights: first show 1988 lovesexy ames, iowa 1990 ruperts mpls big chick benefit two 1997 joty shows in mpls and 1st aftershow at paisley (my first time there) one nite alone 2002 kansas city (i was the one brought to front row during 'give or recieve' bit) xenophobia celebration paisley park 2002 all 3 musicology shows mpls and the 3 aftershows at paisley 7/7/7 target center and aftershow first avenue both Myth shows st paul early '13? last show fall of 2013 paisley park couldnt really afford it at the time but now wish i had went to the two paisley piano and microphone shows. i did go to both Myth st paul shows a few years ago and they were $250 each also. as i got older i passed on quite a few paisley shows and concerts..... very much regretting that. always wanted to see him in europe.biggest regrets are not going to vegas 3121 or london for the 02 shows. that would have been the time to go to europe. lots and lots of memories. A friend reminded me tonight of the paisley show where we were in the front row and i said to Prince, "you're gonna get in trouble with that water!" and he smiled and nodded. (he had pretended that he was gonna throw water from his water bottle on Tina Graham side stage, not many could see this happen, and the lid DID pop off and he felt so bad. you can imagine his hand out to her in apology. a little later he was telling Larry about it, who was playing with him that night, and Larry laughed.) I had forgotten that he had acknowledged what i said. [Edited 4/30/16 2:20am] [Edited 4/30/16 2:21am]

I didn't get into Prince until 1998, but I was fortunate enough to catch 11 performances and one press conference: one performance was a TV broadcast and another was the aftershow from the same day the TV broadcast was aired, while the other nine performances were full on concerts. Also attended the W2A press conference at The Apollo. I caught:
Hit n Run in 2000 in Worcestor, MA (Remember standing in the Massachusetts November cold and hearing the soundcheck while in the line and not caring about the weather--it was my first Prince show). This was my first time meeting John Blackwell (a few days before the show in Worcestor, he was at my dorm room at Berklee because he was good friends with my roommate. I foolishly declined an invitation to dinner from JB because I wanted to eat on campus with my buddies)
Musicology twice in NYC at Madison Square Garden (one of the evenings it had been raining, so when he got to Purple Rain, I remember looking up from my NPGMC seats and seeing everyone in the Garden with their umbrella swaying from left to right).
Musicology once in Boston (the night The Time opened up) at The Fleet Center.
2006 for the ABC Goodmorning America performance at Bryant Park (was working at ABC at the time and got VIP entrance to the front).
The performance at Butter in NYC the same day as the Goodmorning America performance. My biggest memories from this night include talking to Jay-Z, and later, going up on the stage to do an 80's dance. I called out Oak Tree, but instead did the Wooden Leg (the dance from the Sheila E. homevideo where she and Prince perform A Love Bizaare). When Prince saw me, he shouted out "Wooden Leg" just like he did in the Sheila E. home video. Snapped a great pic of Prince while we were in line waiting to get into Butter. He was stepping in his limo wearing an Orange suit with a Purple shirt. Unforuntately, I've lost the memory card from that night, but I did keep the memory card from the earlier performance that day.
Had great seats at the W2A press conference at the Apollo (thanks to ABC).
Caught opening night of the Welcome 2 America tour in New Jersey at the Izod Center.
Caught two nights at Madison Square during the W2A tour: one with Cee-lo, and the other one escapes me, but it was the same night as the Derby aftershow (I remember the aftershow at the Derby because I didn't get in, but Prince said excuse me as he was walking out at the end of the night with a bevy of women in tow)
Was in the balcony for the 7pm Piano and a Microphone show in Atlanta
Was in the front row for the 10pm Piano and a Microphone show in Atlanta, and shook his hand at the end of the performance.
I am truly thankful to have caught Prince as many time as I did, and to catch his final two concerts ever, but if I could do it all over again, I probably would not have been...under the influence...at his final two performances ever. But hindsight is always 20/20... [Edited 4/30/16 2:57am]

Only one sadly - the 2004 Musicology tour in Dallas, he pulled Erykah Badu up on stage at the end of it.
The Purple Rain era was before my time, but I've watched that Prince & Revolution Live VHS enough times to almost feel like I was there, lol. ¡The Future Is Ours, If You Can Count! https://www.youtube.com/w...A_zTY0qWWk
