Shame, it really was a great gig. Prince was in such a good mood. Possibly my favourite outdoor concert (I'm not generally a big outdoor fan).

The amount of times you have seen Prince in concert doesn't define your fandom. How did you feel the last (maybe only) time you saw him?

If you had a gut wrenching, almost worry with anticipation excitement, then you are in the Prince Zone! No greater feeling and enjoyment.

This. "gut wrenching, almost worry with anticipation excitement". Just realized... will never feel that again.

First time I have totted them up for years and it strangely makes exactly 250, but there might be an error a few figures either side.

As you can see, It started strong, but tapered off as I got older. You can tell I started earning, but had no responsibilities between 87 and 92! I used to backpack Europe for the early tours. Strangely though, never saw a show in Italy or Spain (use to have to get back to raise funds or wash clothes). Also regret that I never got to a Jam of The Year show, Celebration II or any Piano and a Microphone. I thought I would catch one this year. sad

Wow now THAT is an impressive tally. International too! You must have spent a fortune! Good memories that nothing can take away!

As for me...

Seen him live multiple times at main gigs and aftershows in the UK... 86 (2), 88 (3), 90 (4), 92 (2), 93 (2 + 1), 98 (2 + 1), 02 (3 + 1), 07 (7 + 4), 14 (2). Sadly missed ULE in 95 (a big regret) and deliberately missed Hop Farm (I don't do standing in fields).

VH-1 honors 2 in Hollywood.

In San Diego at riimac. 97ish

In Irvine at the amphitheatre.97ish

In San Diego again.98-99ish...got Supercute and underneath the cream singles.

At Kodak for ONA.

At Kodak the following night.

At HoB right after Kodak...these last three are in part documented on an official release...

At the staples center...musicology

8 times....more than I anticipated...

Standouts... First san diego show at riimac arena (love4oneanother)and Kodak/HoB

Shit show...San Diego hit run show....went with friend and I was embarrassed...the funkybaldhead days...that weird dancer, genesia?

I was THIS close to going for broke and getting Atlanta(live in Louisiana now...not Cali any more(stupid stupid me) piano and microphone tix...starving myself for two weeks. But I didn't and I'm VERY mad at my self for not.

1993 Chicago

1993 Lisbon, Portugal

1995 London Wembley arena

1997 Washington DC

1998 London Wembley arena

1998 London Hippodrome

1998 London Café de Paris (my claim to fame is a close-up of during the "Come On" footage)

1998 London Brixton Academy

2007 London O2

2013 Lisbon, Portugal

My favourite was Hippodrome 98, an outstanding aftershow: it went on until 5AM-ish... the sun was rising as we walked out.

Jazz, funk, wild guitars aplenty and even "The War" - a very different version to the one released.

1992 Diamonds and Pearls - 2 London, Manchester
1993 Act II - 1 London
1993 after show, London

1998 New Power Soul 1 London
2002 One Night Alone - 1 London
2007 Earth - 2, London
2014 one off Palladium show, Hollywood

Think that makes 13. Can't really count the ONA sound check... And like others I was desperate for him to bring the Piano and Microphone show to LA. Gutted I didn't hop up to Oakland...

I saw him nine times, eight of them with my son. I just went to a Bowie tribute last night at the last venue where I saw Prince in 2014... It hurt looking at the empty stage and remembering... sad

Amazing to see the number of concerts people on here have been to, being in my twenties I've seen Prince 5 times:

August 7th 2007 at the O2, 21 nights

February 22nd 2014 Manchester Academy

May 16th 2014 Manchester Arena

May 19th 2014 Birmingham LG Arena

May 23rd 2014 Leeds Arena

AlphabetS

Manchester 1990 and 1992 , both Maine Road

Manchester 1995 x 2

O2 x 4 + 2 aftershows

Rotterdam about 2012

Manchester Academy 2014

Manchester Arena 2014

I remember not being able to get off work to go to Wembly arena for the Lovesexy tour when I was 16. And I massively regret not going to the Manchester Apollo, in 2002 I think it was.

Wish it was more.

Hard to think there wont be any more gigis but I feel very lucky to have "got" Prince and had the music as the sountrack to my life since I as a kid.

Hey felix, we were at a lot of the same shows! biggrin I wish I had a list as good as yours. I wish I had a list of all the shows I've attended in general. Unfortunatly, I do not, and I've been to so many shows in my lifetime (well over 1000, and that's not counting smaller jazz gigs) that a lot of the memories have just become one giant blur (for the record, I've done a terrible job of saving ticket stubs, I have maybe a couple hundred total, probably less - it's just never felt as important to me as the experience and the memory). I went to 11 shows on the Musicology tour, alone, I remember that (brotherman hung out on the West Coast a lot for that tour, it was easier than usual for me to get to multiple shows). And I'm guessing somwhere between 10 and 20ish others, leaning closer to the 20ish side (possibly more). So somewhere around 30. I made it to Paisley Park, though, which is by far one of my greatest live music memories. Like, right near the top.

Thats so cool that U went to that many shows. I kept all my tickets stubs. Purple Rain Tour was $17.50 back then. Also saw 2 Tonight show apperances. Wish I was lucky enough to see a show at paisley Park show as that would have been the ultimate show for me.
